2013, you've been a good year!
And just like that, it's a whole new year! Makes me all giddy and reflective for the year that was. 2013 was awesome for my muse:
Published my first independent novella, Well Played.Overcame (slightly) my fear of public speaking and shared my love of, respectively: writing and Jane Austen at the Eureka Seminar and the Filipino ReaderCon.Met other awesome indie writers at the ReaderCon!Tried out other ways to get my writing out there: Wattpad, Smashwords, Kobo and SOON to an Apple device near you! ...

2013 Filipino ReaderCon
Last Saturday, December 7, southron, sniffly me braved the northbound commute to attend my first-ever Filipino ReaderCon -- and it was worth the congestion! (Both traffic and sinus-wise ;-))
Worth it for:
- Sharing my Pride & Prejudice feels at the Goodreads Filipino Group discussion. (I finally got to meet TFG's Tina, Alexa, Ranee and Angus too! BTW if you're looking for similarly reading-obsessed friends who are down with fun discussions, do join this group!)

A short story (com
It's a gray day and I'm feeling romantically thwarted (in that author sort-of way, not for real!) so here's something I wrote a while back. It's what happens when you have quite an active imagination and pretend to act out an indie movie while commuting (as we all tend to do: admit it!)

Hot for teacher
I'm working on a new contemporary romance and now it's at 7 chapters and around 9,300 words. My sister's been beta reading the progress. Have I mentioned that one of the characters is a super hot teacher? This is who my sister has in mind:
And this is who I was picturing...
James Wolk or Richard Armitage. =)

Kobo Kilig
The Kobo's been getting buzz since National Bookstore brought in and sold the e-reader. What I didn't realize is that when I listed on Smashwords, Well Played got listed on Kobo Books too. And can I just quickly blog about how it's been doing? Because SQUEEE!
#21 on Kobo's top 50 ebooks as of October 14!
#5 in the Romance, Contemporary and #6 in the Fiction & Literature categories! My friend Jason has the Kobo Glo (I am so jealous because, save for a clip-on reading light, I can't read the K...

fangirl squee!
*coughs* can I just take a moment to fangirl because Tessa Bailey liked my review of Officer Off Limits??
BTW the books were recommended to me by Mina V. Esguerra when I said I wanted fun, sexy reads without having to wade though Fanfiction.net. Tessa's books HIGHLY recommended for being exactly that: fun, sexy and written well!

A Well Played tour of UPLB
A couple of months ago my batchmates and I went to UPLB one Saturday to reminisce, eat really good and cheap food, and have fun. Along the way we took some pictures at some places mentioned in Well Played...
F.O. Santos cor. Raymundo St."...the smell of fresh pan de sal and sizzling tocino wafted out of Raymundo Street, a street teeming with apartments, dormitories, boarding houses, computer shops and cheap eateries that began at a chicken wire gate right alongside University land."

@iggyatienza too mestiza. and she doesn't strike me as the athletic type. And then I had to go and say I had a young Isabel Roces in my head when I was picturing Patrice!
