FBLA
My daughter qualified for the Nationals of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), one in four from her high school. It's in San Antonio, Texas this year and she set out to get donations from local business owner's so she could go. I helped her with point of contact information but she made the personal phone calls. She has been able to raise enough money to cover her airfare, hotel, fees, as well as expenses for food and activities. We are proud of her for not only making the Nationals but having the gumption to put herself out to get there. We thank all the business owner's that donated. We also hope the Future Business Leaders of America, some no doubt in high ranking positions someday, will do a better job than many have in our generation.

Good Friends?
“Friends. Good friends?” His words constantly claiming while his actions where more than that. “Good friends” he always made a point to say, leaving the possibility of any other title out of the question. I thought about his kiss--Lisa Loomis (Boy in a Band)

Naive
"Linda could tell Stella was naïve about men and she worried about her getting played. She had witnessed too many people who lost themselves in the moment and tore everything in their lives apart and then had regrets. Temptation was always out there, it was a matter of letting it in or not."--Lisa Loomis (Gem Rats)

Confused
"I could never answer her, and I was confused as to why all of a sudden. His kiss brought me back. I pushed further against him and I wished I wasn’t restricted by being in a public place."--Lisa Loomis (Boy in a Band--NEW COVER)

Crazy
"Friday night couldn’t come soon enough for Toni. Her client from hell had stressed her to the max and then on top of it her family was making her crazy."--Lisa Loomis (Gem Rats)

Not like the movies
"What Liz said hit me hard, she was absolutely right. Liz sharing her story gave me a lot of insight, into her, into people. I thought about the people that had been in and out of my life and yes we all had our issues. Love wasn’t like the movies; it was much more complicated than that."--Lisa Loomis (Casanova Cowboy)

Flirting
“Anything new on Stella and Greg?” Nicky asked.
“Still flirting like crazy,” Toni answered. “It’s almost like she is unaware of how obvious it is. I guess if it’s innocent it doesn’t matter. Linda thinks if Stella opened the door Greg would run. Me I’m not so sure.”--Lisa Loomis (Gem Rats)

Wrangle
"Mom painfully listened to me wrangle with my feelings. As a mother I realized it was hard for her, to watch or to coach. When I finally decided I couldn’t take Mathew up on his offer to ‘try and make it work’ she listened to me cry."--Lisa Loomis (Casanova Cowboy)

Working
Between moving, twice, and my daughter getting close to high school graduation I am finding time to work on the books. Today I ordered review copies of the paperback of Gem Rats, making minor changes to Casanova Cowboy, going to change/update the cover to Boy in a Band, and continue to write on A Horse named Joe. I have come to understand they are all works in progress and my writing seems to get better as I go along. My family continues to encourage me to stick with it!
