Affair waiting to happen

“Yeah, she has the hots for him.  They flirt like crazy at the gym.  At first Linda and I thought it was innocent but we’re not so sure any more,” Toni said.            “She better be careful, it’s starting to look like an affair waiting to happen,” Linda chimed in.--Lisa Loomis (Gem Rats)

Kiss me

"I caught my breath as he led me to the bed and pulled me down on top of him.  He rolled me to one side and started to kiss me again.  I didn’t have much experience with kissing.  Even with him it had been limited.  He seemed hungry for me.  I had fantasized about this more than once."--Lisa Loomis (Boy in a Band)

Two more

“Two more,” Stella encouraged.  “You can do it.”

Rachel took a deep breath and blew it out.  She ordered her brain to pull up her legs two more times.  When she put her feet back on the box and removed her arms from the straps she was worn out.--Lisa Loomis (Gem Rats)

My books

For current or potential readers I understand that not everyone will like my stories.  It's exactly why we don't have just one flavor of ice cream, or one choice in where to go or what to eat.  Everybody likes different things.

I don't happen to like to read paranormal, horror, espionage, vampires or witches, so I don't write about those.  I also don't like predictable Cinderella stories with an ending you can guess from the start, with characters so perfect that you wonder where your own life got off track.

I write about the human condition, love, life, and all that it entails (even sex, drugs, alcohol, craziness) it's MESSY and unpredictable, and sometimes all those things are even funny.

I respect all the authors before me that stuck to their gun, wrote the story they had to tell, not what someone thought they should tell, whatever genre or multiple genre's.  I'm sticking to my stories just like they did, it's why I write.

So if you don't like the human condition, don't like messy, unconventional, unpredictable, or imperfect, my novels are not for you.  I'm just being honest right up front.

The great thing is some readers think my stories are "awesome, couldn't put them down, etc."--they get my flavor.

Stars shine

My daughter, Hunter was honored last night as being in the top 10% of her high school graduating class.  We are super proud of her, I've blogged about it, put it on facebook, and we've celebrated.  There are three bright stars in my life however, and as stated by one speaker last night, "remember family, because it is so important".  So each of my closest stars may outshine each other now and then, but just like real stars, it depends on how you view them, at that particular moment in time.  In my eyes my stars are all just as bright as one another; I'm so lucky to have them.

Reception hall

"The reception was in what they called a hall, a big white square building with little character.  It was decorated inside with ribbons and bows in an attempt to make it look festive.  A band played in one of the corners.  The lack of atmosphere was made up for in the level of the celebration, people dancing, toasting, and partying.  The alcohol was flowing freely and I stayed longer than I planned......."--Lisa Loomis (Casanova Cowboy)  Amazon.com

Sexiness

“She’s brutal today girls.  I hope you’re both ready for an ass kicking,” Jillian said, as she put her jacket on.  Jillian’s voice was low, a little raspy even, but had a sexiness to it that was easily heard by both men and women.--Lisa Loomis (Gem Rats)

Eight Track

"He leaned to kiss me as he slid in an eight track.  Styx’s blared out of the speakers and he reached to turn it down."--Lisa Loomis (Boy in a Band)

Remember eight track players--ok so it's dating me.

Right one

"I threw the last of my things into my bag and walked Mathew to his car.  I thought he might bring up the way we left things and try to change my mind about moving.  At the very least I expected him to try.  He didn’t, not a word.  His silence confirmed that my decision was the right one."--Lisa Loomis (Casanova Cowboy)  Available www.Amazon.com
