New Novel--Gem Rats

Toni grabbed the blow dryer off the bathroom counter and started to dry her hair.  A dull ache spread through her stomach and slowly crept up into her chest, she wished she could blame it on the cookie.  It was time to quit denying, time to quit turning the other cheek.  As much as she didn’t want to, it was time to the quit lying to herself. --Lisa Loomis (Gem Rats)

Dancing on the table

All the girls were barefoot and the glass didn’t seem to be deterring them.  The group on the table was getting rather large, girls singing, dancing, and bumping into one another as they moved in the small space--Lisa Loomis (Gem Rats)

If I was game

When he pulled me closer to him I could feel my body tingle, a sensation that frightened and excited me.  He didn’t like Max much I knew that.  I was pretty certain he wouldn’t have any problem stealing me away if I was game.--Lisa Loomis (Casanova Cowboy)

Holy shit

His hand moved toward her and he ran it down her thigh.  Then he pulled himself away and shut her door.  He smiled at her through the closed window.  “Holy shit” she thought, “what was that?”--Lisa Loomis (Gem Rats)

Bruised lips

I relocked the door, my lips felt bruised, as did my ego.  I looked at myself in the mirror, my face was flushed.  You stupid girl Morgan, here you are again.  No?  How hard is no!?  I hadn’t protested at all.  I kissed him back.  I let him do what he wanted, like all the times before.--Lisa Loomis (Boy in a Band)

Bother me?

I wondered if seeing him with a girl would bother me like it used to.  I’d watched him go through so many over the years.  Distance ultimately made a relationship between us impossible.  In a warped way distance is also what kept our relationship going for so many years.--Lisa Loomis (Casanova Cowboy)
