The recipe for Tiramisù by Nora
Who read my books knows that my Nora loves cooking italian
dishes and that Tiramisù is one of her
favorites cakes.
Someone in the past days asked me about this recipe so...
forgive me for my bad english (my readers know that I'm an italian author and
someone else translated my books) and write down the Tiramisù recipe.
It is an easy recipe so: try!
Ingredients:
5 eggs
500 gr mascarpone
250 gr sugar
dark chocolate
coffee
300 gr Savoiardi
Let's start making a cream with the sugar and the yolks of
the eggs (keep 3 of the egg whites and throw away the others)
When the cream is ready, add the mascarpone in the bowl and
keep working on the dough. Then work apart at the three whites until they are like a
white foam. Add them in the bowl too.
At this point you have what we call in Italy “crema di
mascarpone”
To have the Tiramisù, take the cake pan, put the Savoiardi on
the bottom and pour the sweetened coffee on them.
Above the Savoiardi layer, put the Mascarpone Cream. You can
make just a layer or more.
On the top, grate the dark chocolate. Now your Tiramisù is
ready!
Maybe this is the strangest and ungrammatical recipe you
ever read, but if you can understand my explanation you'll taste the best
Tiramisù you have ever eaten.

Streghe e fatine
Tra streghe o fatine, voi cosa scegliereste di essere?
L'interrogativo mi si è riproposto per un dibattito giocoso legato a due post sul blog di Manuela Paric': la mia intervista, qualche settimana fa, http://fiumegiallo.blogspot.it/2013/05/blog-tour-giulia-beyman.html e quella della mia collega Martina Munzittu http://fiumegiallo.blogspot.it/p/blog-tour.html#martina.
Lei ci ha guadagnato un bel gelato misto creme e io un caffè all'arsenico.
E allora l'interrogativo è tornato: meglio streghe o fatine?
Martina è decisamente una fatina. È così che l'ho soprannominata, perché diverse volte mi ha dato aiuto e supporto nel lavoro. E scrive 'romanzi rosa' anche se con un twist di mistero. Scrive d'amore. Più fatina di così.
E io? Io al fatidico interrogativo oggi rispondo in modo deciso: strega for ever, senza ombra di dubbio!
(Manuela, mi dispiace per te, ma ho il sospetto che anche tu sia un po' strega con i casi che fai risolvere al tuo signor Mocha)
Ho vestito i panni di fatina per lungo tempo e mi stanca l'enorme sforzo di
perfezione che richiede un ruolo tanto impegnativo. Sono stata una brava bambina da quando ricordo e non ho mai fatto memorabili 'marachelle' da che ho memoria.
Così con soddisfazione oggi dico che mi
sono simpatiche le streghe! Adoravo Samantha di 'Vita da strega' e
ricordo con piacere 'Le streghe di Eastwick' che bistrattavano il povero
Jack Nicholson.
Ho amato molto le streghe che popolano "La lettrice bugiarda", il primo romanzo di Brunonia Barry, e ripeto spesso anch'io, come la sua Eva, che "Il caso non esiste".
(D'altra parte Brunonia vive a Salem. Chi meglio di lei per parlare di streghe?)
Ho amato le sue lettrici di pizzo e le sue donne dai cappelli rossi e i vestiti viola.
E
ho amato le "Donne che corrono con i lupi" di Clarissa Pinkola Estés
(lo so, sono passati diversi anni da quando è stato pubblicato!), che
per la loro capacità di ascoltare il cuore e di seguire l'istinto sono
streghe anche loro.
In nuce un po'
streghe lo siamo tutte. Ma ci ricordiamo di esserlo? Diamo spazio alle
nostre percezioni, incuranti delle aspettative altrui? Diamo spazio alle nostre emozioni e alle nostre piccole follie?
Dopo anni di sforzi inutili per essere una brava fatina, lo ammetto, da qualche mese ho ripreso a studiare da strega.
Molto
banalmente, vorrei essere un po' più strega quando chiedo informazioni
a un dottore che non empatizza con il malato che dovrebbe curare.
Vorrei essere più strega quando un cafone mi manda a quel paese solo perché, in macchina, rispetto uno stop.
Vorrei essere più strega quando la cortesia e l'educazione vengono scambiate per debolezza.
Vorrei essere più strega con gli stupidi e con i 'furbetti' di turno.
L'ho deciso: voglio essere più strega quando qualcuno mi pesta i piedi e continua a rimanerci sopra, nonostante io gli abbia fatto notare che mi sta facendo male.
E magari, liberando i miei poteri da strega, riuscirò a comprendere meglio la confusa trama dell'esistenza.

Dare vita a una nuova storia - Il racconto in tre atti
Cominciamo con l'ammettere che, in quanto a struttura narrativa, da parecchio tempo non si dice niente di nuovo. Già, perché della divisione del racconto in tre atti parlava già Aristotele nella sua Poetica.
E allora che dire? Beh, che dopo un paio di millenni abbondanti siamo sempre là. Tre atti. Tre diversi segmenti narrativi. Per il cinema, per la narrativa e, per quanto strano possa sembrare, anche per i sogni. Un inizio, un problema da risolvere, una risoluzione.
Per dare un'occhiata, anche sbrigativa, alle caratteristiche di questi tre atti, possiamo dire che il PRIMO ATTO è quello in cui presentiamo il protagonista (o protagonisti) della storia, l'ambiente i cui i fatti avvengono, delineiamo il genere (letterario o cinematografico) che abbiamo scelto e creiamo quegli accadimenti che permettono alla storia di avviarsi.
Nel SECONDO ATTO, invece, sviluppiamo in pieno la nostra storia, generalmente con snodi e complicazioni che ci portano al momento della 'resa dei conti', il climax. Attraverso gli ostacoli che il nostro protagonista incontra aumenta la tensione e la curiosità per l'esito finale.
Il TERZO ATTO, infine, è quello in cui il protagonista sconfigge ogni ostacolo. È il momento del climax del racconto e della risoluzione, quando il nostro personaggio principale, dopo aver risolto i suoi problemi, vive la sua nuova vita.
Tra questi tre atti, il secondo sembra quello più libero da vincoli, quello con meno paletti narrativi, ma in realtà è spesso il più complicato da scrivere perché ha il compito di far salire la tensione emotiva della storia, fino al suo epilogo.
I punti di svolta, quelli cioè in cui avviene il passaggio da un atto all'altro, vengono chiamati in gergo TURNING POINT.
Chi si sia più o meno interessato alla struttura narrativa (lasciatemi dire che credo che chiunque si occupi di storie dovrebbe farlo) considererà questi miei appunti poco più di un'ovvietà. A tutti gli altri - più o meno scettici su 'griglie' che imbriglino la creatività - dico che anch'io facevo parte della schiera di quelli che considerano questi 'paletti' della struttura narrativa oltre che una grande rottura di scatole, anche un limite alla libertà di inventare.
Ma un modo per uscire da questa impasse c'è. Scrivete liberamente la vostra storia, senza pensare ad altro. Ma alla fine o voi, personalmente, o servendovi dell'aiuto di un editor, controllatene la struttura narrativa (un po' come vi ho consigliato di fare con i vostri protagonisti).
Scoprirete che se qualcosa non torna, se un atto è troppo poco sviluppato o i turning point non abbastanza evidenti, il racconto funziona meno di quanto farà quando avrete risolto questi problemi.
Se il discorso vi incuriosisce almeno un po', nel prossimo post parleremo del Viaggio dell'Eroe, delineando meglio lo schema della divisione del racconto in tre atti. Uno schema che riguarda il racconto cinematografico, ma anche qualsiasi altro tipo di racconto.
