Is McDonald's Open on Memorial Day? Here Are the Hours
Earlier this week McDonald's announced a major change to nationwide hours, where some locations will soon be open past midnight, while others will remain open 24/7 to compete with other industry competitors.
“Our fans know there’s no better way to end an unforgettable night than by feasting on your favorite McDonald’s order,” the company spokesperson said in a statement. “That’s why, as the summer season kicks off, we’re excited to offer up more ways for customers to satisfy their late-night cravings with more choices and expanded hours at more restaurants. Now fans can snag our brand-new McCrispy Strips and Creamy Chili Dip or another one of their faves like the Quarter Pounder or Chicken McNuggets, whenever their cravings strike.”
While fans of the restaurant are pleased with the news, they still have one question this weekend - will McDonald's be open on Memorial Day?
A record number of Americans are expected to travel for the holiday this year, with over 45 million traveling more than 50 miles from their respective residences to celebrate the holiday with family.
"Memorial Day is an American holiday on the last Monday of May. It honors fallen service members of the U.S. military," according to the Wounded Warrior Project. "...Americans began to recognize Memorial Day in 1868, and the country established it as a federal holiday in 1971. Originally known as 'Decoration Day,' the holiday started with communities coming together to decorate the graves of those who died during service."
The good news for those traveling is that McDonald's will be open to accommodate their hunger.
Hours vary by location but most McDonald's locations in the U.S. are open on holidays, the company told USA Today. Those looking to dine at McDonald's can use the store locator to see the respective hours of their location.

Caitlin Clark's Coach Does Not Hold Back on Referees
During Saturday's game between the Indiana Fever and the New York Liberty, Fever superstar Caitlin Clark seemingly believed that she was fouled while attempting a last-second three-point shot that would have given the Fever the victory over New York. After the game, Clark's coach was not happy with the lack of a foul call.
During the postgame press conference, Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White did not hold back her true thoughts on the officiating at the end of the game as she blasted the officials.
"I thought she got fouled. I think it's pretty egregious what's been happening to us the last few games," White said of Clark via Fox News Digital. "The disrespect right now for our team has been pretty unbelievable. So, it's disappointing, you know, that it doesn't go both ways, or it hasn't gone both ways."
White acknowledged that there is a system in place for teams to express their disagreements with the officiating, but she did not necessarily have confidence that the system works.
"There's a system to making sure that we can send stuff in and communicate our grievances, so to speak. I don't know if I have a feeling that the system works," she said.
As for Clark herself, she was not exactly willing to talk about the call after the game.
"I don't know. I have to go back and watch," Clark said of the call.
Clark and the Fever will look to bounce back from the loss with a showdown against the Washington Mystics on Wednesday.
Top 'Snake Eyes' Actor Is Ready To Join James Bond Franchise, But Not the Way You Think
In the 2021 film Snake Eyes, Henry Golding proved he knew his way around some deadly swords. But what about a Walther PPK? Could Golding, who also starred in 2024's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which featured Bond creator Ian Fleming as a character, become the next James Bond?
Although Golding recently said "sign me up" to the Radio Times, he also emphasized that he didn't only want to join the Bond franchise as James Bond himself. Golding, who is British but of Malaysian descent, noted that although becoming the first Asian James Bond would be cool, he didn't think there should be "pressure to change the ethnicity" of James Bond. He also noted: "I think sometimes it is good to pay justice to the source material, and how Ian Fleming saw this idea of Bond."

Golding, who is currently starring with Nicole Kidman in Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers, will also return, alongside Charlize Theron, for the Netflix action flick The Old Guard 2, later this year. He's a great action guy and a fun, charming actor, too. And so, Golding says that if he didn't become Bond, he would also be interested in playing another character in the franchise, perhaps another version of 008.
"There's plenty more characters in that universe to play and explore," he said. "Obviously, it's a privilege to be in any conversation for a property like that. Whatever happens, I'm excited as a big fan of that series to see how they kind of expand it."
Currently, the new James Bond producers, Amy Pascal and David Heyman, are prepping the next James Bond film in London. This will be the first new 007 movie produced by Amazon MGM, and the first to feature a new James Bond actor since Daniel Craig debuted as 007 in Casino Royale in 2006. Despite several names being mentioned to play Bond, including Golding, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and others, no actor has yet been named.
Some rumors suggest the movie could start filming this year and release as early as 2027.

Elon Musk Declares 24/7 Workdays After X Outage Shakes Platform
Elon Musk says he’s going all-in on his companies, Tesla, X, xAI, and even the Starship project after his social media platform X suffered a major outage this weekend.
According to the outage-tracking site Downdetector, X’s service issues peaked at around 8:51 a.m. ET on Saturday with over 25,800 reported problems. Users in the U.S., Germany, Spain, France, India, Canada, Australia, and Britain were affected. By midday, reports had dropped below 650, indicating the service had mostly recovered.
In a post on X, Musk made it clear that he’s pivoting his attention back to his business empire. “Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms,” he said. “I must be super focused on X/xAI and Tesla, plus Starship launch next week, as we have critical technologies rolling out.”

I must be super focused on 𝕏/xAI and Tesla (plus Starship launch next week), as we have critical technologies rolling out.
As evidenced by the 𝕏 uptime issues this week, major operational…
Musk’s renewed focus comes at a time when he’s faced criticism over his sprawling commitments. Last year, he spent nearly $300 million on political contributions but recently said he would cut back to concentrate on business amid concerns about Tesla’s performance. The automaker reported its first annual drop in deliveries after protests against Musk’s political views hurt its sales in the U.S. and Europe.

Investors have also expressed concern about Musk’s focus being spread too thin. To reassure stakeholders, he previously said he would reduce his time spent on the Department of Government Efficiency to just a day or two a week starting this May.
Now, with X’s outage highlighting the importance of hands-on leadership and a Starship launch looming, Musk’s declaration signals a potential return to form. Whether his “24/7” commitment will reassure investors, or add further strain to his empire, remains to be seen.
The Surprising U.S. Regions Facing Deadly Tsunami Risk
A new study from Virginia Tech warns that large swaths of the Pacific Northwest, including Northern California, Oregon, and Washington, could face devastating flooding, landslides, and tsunamis in the coming years.
Published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the research highlights a double threat: a major earthquake in the Cascadia subduction zone (CSZ) combined with rising sea levels due to climate change. According to the study, this seismic combo could cause coastal land to sink by up to 6.5 feet, dramatically increasing the risk of flooding.
In real terms, that means the area of land at risk of flooding would jump from 35 square miles to 116 square miles. That’s an increase that could put more than 14,000 additional residents, 22,500 structures, and 777 miles of roads underwater if an earthquake were to strike today.
The Cascadia subduction zone, stretching from Northern California to Vancouver Island, is already known as one of the most volatile seismic regions in North America. Researchers warn there’s a 15% chance of a magnitude 8.0 or greater earthquake occurring there within the next 50 years. When paired with climate-driven sea level rise, the results could be catastrophic.

The study’s authors also pointed out a critical flaw in current tsunami preparedness plans. Existing tsunami inundation maps don’t account for the amplification effect of rising sea levels, meaning future tsunamis could penetrate further inland than anticipated.
“These hazards are not just theoretical—they’re a wake-up call,” said the researchers. “Communities in these regions must prepare now to minimize damage and protect vital infrastructure and ecosystems.”
While the timing of the next big quake is uncertain, the researchers modeled scenarios for both a present-day event and one occurring in 2100. In either case, the stakes are high for the Pacific coastline.

Joe Rogan Says This Guest Was His Worst
After hosting over 1,800 guests on The Joe Rogan Experience, Joe Rogan has finally named his least favorite: Dr. Zahi Hawass, the former Egyptian Minister of Antiquities.
In a recent episode featuring Aaron Rodgers, Rogan opened up about his disappointing experience with Hawass, calling him “a close-minded fellow who’s been in charge of gatekeeping all the knowledge.” Rogan’s comments came during a wide-ranging discussion with Rodgers that touched on everything from Elon Musk and P-Diddy to COVID-19 and ancient Egypt.
“That might have been the worst podcast I’ve ever done,” Rogan admitted, though he added, “maybe a good one too.”
The episode with Hawass, which ran for nearly two hours, centered on the history of the Egyptian pyramids. Many viewers noted that Rogan seemed visibly disinterested throughout the conversation.
When Rodgers asked whether Rogan would consider visiting Egypt with Hawass as his guide, Rogan shrugged off the idea. “Yeah, meh, mmm,” he said, adding, “If I’m going, I’m going with Graham Hancock.”
Hawass and Hancock have a famously rocky history, clashing publicly in 2015 over debates about ancient Egypt’s past. However, the two have since reconciled, with Hancock even sharing a photo last year showing the pair enjoying a dinner in Cairo.

Despite the supposed patch-up, Rogan’s episode with Hawass didn’t leave a good impression. He accused the archaeologist of refusing to “entertain” alternative theories about Egypt’s history and implied Hawass was too rigid in his thinking.
For Rogan’s loyal listeners, the revelation adds an interesting footnote to his ever-expanding podcast history. While he’s known for hosting guests with a wide range of views, from comedians to athletes to conspiracy theorists, it’s clear that Hawass left a lasting mark... for all the wrong reasons.
Taco Bell Just Launched 5 New Items—and They’re Already Selling Out
Taco Bell is at it again, quietly dropping five new menu items that are already drawing major buzz, and in some locations, selling out fast.
While many fans were focused on the recent Mike’s Hot Honey Diablo Sauce release, Allrecipes reported the Tex-Mex giant rolled out several new limited-time items across the country, along with exclusive market tests in select cities.
At the top of the list? Loaded Steak & Jalapeño Topped Fries, a bold upgrade to the beloved Nacho Fries. Priced at $4.99, this dish piles on marinated steak, creamy jalapeño sauce, nacho cheese, and pickled jalapeños, all over crispy fries. It’s a flavor-packed option for anyone looking to step up their snacking game, and it’s available nationwide, but only for a limited time.
That’s not all. Taco Bell is also testing four other menu items that could be headed for a wider release.
In Oklahoma City, lucky customers can try the Cantina Chicken Quesadilla and Cantina Chicken Quesadilla Rollup. They both feature slow-roasted chicken, melty cheese, and smoky chipotle sauce. The rollup version is grilled for extra crunch, perfect for on-the-go bites.

In Charlotte, North Carolina, the chain is bringing back its Crispy Chicken Taco and Crispy Chicken Burrito, first seen in an Indianapolis test earlier this year. These items, reminiscent of classic snack wraps, feature fried chicken, purple cabbage, lettuce, pico de gallo, and Cheddar cheese, with your choice of Ranchero or Avocado Ranch sauce.
Taco Bell’s low-key launch strategy seems to be working. With regional exclusives and a limited run on the loaded fries, fans are rushing to grab these items before they disappear.
If you’re craving something new from the Bell, act fast because the window to try these new flavors might close before you know it.

Indiana Fever Coach Places Blame After Caitlin Clark No Call
On Saturday, May 24 the Indiana Fever fell to 2-2 on the season with both of those loss coming by a combined three points.
Caitlin Clark and company fell to the reigning WNBA champion New York Liberty, which escaped with a 90-88 victory thanks to some questionable officiating down the stretch. In the final few minutes three suspect calls went the Liberty's way kicked off by a blocked shot from New York guard Natasha Cloud on Indiana's DeWanna Bonner where it looked like the latter took contact.
Not long later, Fever guard Lexie Hull was called for a foul on Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu, who eventually hit the game-winning free-throws. Near the end of the game Clark had a chance at a final shot, but got the ball knocked away from Cloud.
Fever head coach Stephanie White was less than pleased with the call on Clark - and the foul call on hull. "I thought it was egregious, honestly. I thought it was obvious," White said after the game.
Of the foul on Hull she said, "It was an offensive player veering into the defensive player's path. We have to be able to play through it. But at the same time, I feel like it's really disrespectful. There's a system to making sure we can send [concerns about officiating] in and communicate our grievances, so to speak. I don't know that I ever feel like the system works. We're not looking for a change, we're just looking for consistency."
While White was unhappy with the call from the officials, Clark, who complained at the time of the non-call, admitted she would have to check the tape. "I'd have to go back and watch. ... I don't know," she said.
After falling 91-90 to the Atlanta Dream on May 20 and suffering another close loss to the Liberty, Clark knows how close her team was to being 4-0.
"That's probably what's frustrating about it. ... We are two possessions from being 4-0," she said. "But there were so many little areas of this game we could have improved. It definitely stings, but this is what's going to make us better at the end of the year."
The Fever will get a few days off before returning to the court on May 28 for a game against the Washington Mystics.

Rickie Fowler, Amanda Balionis Interview at Charles Schwab Challenge Causes a Stir
After the PGA Championship came to a close last weekend, CBS golf reporter Amanda Balionis felt the need to respond to critics who thought she slighted Rory McIlroy by thanking Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm for doing post-round interviews when they didn't have to.
Balionis shared a post with the caption: "I don't really take criticism to heart from people I don't admire and respect." She included a message of her own: "Monday reminder of all my fellow recovering people pleasers. Needed this one today."
Just a few days later, Balionis was forced to defend herself again when two trolls sent her nasty messages following her interview with Rickie Fowler. "When we talk about being you instead of trying to be what you think others perceive as 'perfect' or 'good enough' ...here is an example of how the latter is simply an impossible and draining task," she said in a message on her Instagram story showing the hate messages.
"CBS should have fired Amanda some time ago. She is a highly unprofessional journalist. Her job is to be a journalist NOT to be a giggling, flirtatious high school girl," the first part of one of the messages read.
"Hey, could you be a little positive in your interviews and not bring up negative stats. Example, Rickie Fowler, [ranks] 125 in something and stuck in neutral. Very negative interview," offered an opposing viewpoint.

Amanda Balionis
Clearly frustrated with the malicious messages, Balionis made it clear she won't be able to please everyone - and doesn't plan to.
"You're always going to be 'too something' for somebody. It's a lot easier to be yourself and figure out what feedback is actually worth listening to (spoiler: it's never the trolls you don't know) rather than trying to be what everyone else wants," she said. "Nobody wants the same thing and you'll end up turning yourself into an unrecognizable pretzel. Okay that's all. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk that absolutely nobody asked for."
As for Fowler, he's trying to win on the PGA Tour for the first time since July 2023 when he took down Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin in a playoff at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He'll start four shots off the lead held by Matti Schmid and Ben Griffin at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Delta Air Lines, United Airlines Launch Direct Service to Sicily Before Memorial Day
Memorial Day weekend is here, and while the holiday is all about honoring those who lost their lives serving this country, many use this weekend as a time to make that first summer trip. More than 45 millions Americans are expected to travel over the holiday weekend, according to AAA, which is roughly 1.4 million more compared to 2024.
Both Delta Air Lines and United Airlines have reached a big first before Memorial Day. Both airlines launched their first-ever flights to the Mediterranean island of Sicily this week, making it much more convenient for U.S. passengers to make a trip out to the Italian area.
United started its new direct service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Palermo Airport on May 21. The flight schedule will give travelers the chance to take the route three times per week on Boeing 767-400 aircraft through Sept. 24. Also on May 21, Delta launched its first flight between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Catania–Fontanarossa Airport, on the eastern coast of Sicily, which will have flights available for passengers daily on the Boeing 767-300 aircraft through Oct. 24.
While both of these routes are direct to Sicily, the biggest difference is that they provide travel to two separate airports located on different ends of the island. Another difference is that United's services uses a Boeing 767-400 aircraft, while Delta's employs a Boeing 767-300.
“Catania will be the fifth Italian city served by Delta from the U.S., along with Rome, Milan, Venice, and Naples," Matteo Curcio, Delta's senior vice president for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India said in a statement. "Sicily is a highly sought-after destination and many Italian Americans have strong bonds with this wonderful Italian region."
Curcio added, "We are convinced that our service will benefit the region's economy with regards to incoming tourism, as well as offering great connectivity to the US for Sicilians."
