Is McDonald's Open on Memorial Day? Here Are the Hours
Earlier this week McDonald's announced a major change to nationwide hours, where some locations will soon be open past midnight, while others will remain open 24/7 to compete with other industry competitors.
“Our fans know there’s no better way to end an unforgettable night than by feasting on your favorite McDonald’s order,” the company spokesperson said in a statement. “That’s why, as the summer season kicks off, we’re excited to offer up more ways for customers to satisfy their late-night cravings with more choices and expanded hours at more restaurants. Now fans can snag our brand-new McCrispy Strips and Creamy Chili Dip or another one of their faves like the Quarter Pounder or Chicken McNuggets, whenever their cravings strike.”
While fans of the restaurant are pleased with the news, they still have one question this weekend - will McDonald's be open on Memorial Day?
A record number of Americans are expected to travel for the holiday this year, with over 45 million traveling more than 50 miles from their respective residences to celebrate the holiday with family.
"Memorial Day is an American holiday on the last Monday of May. It honors fallen service members of the U.S. military," according to the Wounded Warrior Project. "...Americans began to recognize Memorial Day in 1868, and the country established it as a federal holiday in 1971. Originally known as 'Decoration Day,' the holiday started with communities coming together to decorate the graves of those who died during service."
The good news for those traveling is that McDonald's will be open to accommodate their hunger.
Hours vary by location but most McDonald's locations in the U.S. are open on holidays, the company told USA Today. Those looking to dine at McDonald's can use the store locator to see the respective hours of their location.
