IMWM warns against strong winds

On Sunday, the day will be moderately cloudy, sometimes very cloudy. Possibility of light rain showers. The maximum temperature is 20 degrees C by the sea, around 25 degrees C in the center, and the hottest in the south reaches 28 degrees C. Wind gusts up to 55 km/h in the north, up to 65 km/h in the mountains and up to 70 km/h at the seaside.

Mostly cloudy on Sunday night into Monday. Minimum temperature of 10 to 13 degrees C, in the foothill areas of 9 to 11 degrees C, and at the seaside around 14-16 degrees C. Light wind from the south and west, variable in the rest of the westerly area, strong northerly.

Institute of Meteorology and Water Management also warns of an expected storm in the Baltic Sea. Strong wind from the west can reach up to 9 degrees on the Beaufort scale.

“Today and tomorrow there will be a storm in the Baltic Sea. The west wind will blow with a force of 6 to 7 on the B scale, with gusts of 8 to 9 on the B scale” – informed the IMWM.

IMWM also reported that wave heights are approximately 2 m in the western and approximately 3 m in the southeastern Baltic Sea.

“The sailing conditions are very difficult. It is better to wait these two days in the port. In the coastal area, the stormy westerly wind will also generate a high wave: on the open sea beaches and on the Vistula Spit it can be about 1.5 to 2 m. Swimming in such conditions constitutes. deadly threat” – he emphasized.

As added, in the western part of the Pomeranian Bay and over the Gdańsk Bay in the Tricity area, waves will be much lower and will reach less than 1 m.

Top Analyst Says Bitcoin Will Hit $175,000 This Market Cycle

Bitcoin is at a critical juncture, and crypto analyst Caleb Franzen is paying close attention. He recently analyzed a key chart that tracks Bitcoin’s performance since late 2022, with a focus on its 200-day moving average. In an interview with Thinking Crypto, Franzen explained that Bitcoin’s recent drop below these long-term averages is concerning. In bull markets, prices typically remain above these key levels.

If Bitcoin falls below that, it could mean that Bitcoin is entering a bearish phase. Franzen, however, is not panicking. He pointed out that there have been similar drops before, in August and June, and that Bitcoin has bounced back quickly each time.

What could happen now

Franzen used a simple analogy to describe Bitcoin’s potential. He believes that once Bitcoin breaks back above the moving average cloud, it could see a strong rally. But he also noted that the first attempt to break through may not be successful right away, based on past trends.

He said: “Bull markets are characterised by price trends above key short-term, intermediate-term and long-term moving averages. So if we break below those long-term moving averages, that’s not a bullish indication; we’re probably in a bearish regime.”

Looking Ahead: A Big Price Target

Franzen addressed the significance of Bitcoin’s temporary dips below short-term moving averages, noting that in a bull market, such dips are common and often followed by a quick recovery. He said that Bitcoin has consistently shown resilience, recovering quickly and maintaining its upward trend even after challenges.

Franzen also looks at the bigger picture. He thinks Bitcoin can reach at least $175,000 during this market cycle, using a method called the Fibonacci extension. He’s been holding on to this target for a while now and believes that if Bitcoin reaches this level, other major cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and Solana could also make big gains.

They examined Beethoven’s hair. The mystery of many diseases solved

“Ludwig van Beethoven began suffering from hearing loss in his 20s and became deaf in his 30s, but that didn’t stop him from composing some of his greatest works. However, the composer’s wish was for his health issues to be analyzed and communicated to the public. Scientists have sequenced Beethoven’s genome from strands of his hair and are now one step closer to understanding the genius’s mysterious illnesses,” CNN reports.

According to new research, high levels of lead detected in authenticated strands of hair from Ludwig van Beethoven suggest the composer suffered from lead poisoning, which may have contributed to the illnesses he suffered throughout his life, including deafness.

In addition to hearing loss, the famous composer suffered from recurring gastrointestinal problems throughout his life, had two attacks of jaundice and battled a serious liver disease.

It is believed that Beethoven died of liver and kidney disease at the age of 56. However, the process of understanding what caused his numerous health problems was a much more complicated puzzle than even Beethoven himself hoped doctors would eventually solve.

The relationship between suffering and music

Revealing the factors that led to Beethoven’s death from kidney and liver disease may also shed light on how the composer turned his grief into music.

People say, ‘Music is music, why do we need to know about all these things?’ But in Beethoven’s life there is a connection between his suffering and music.

said William Meredith, a researcher on Beethoven’s hair.

In addition to the high concentration of lead, recent discoveries have shown that arsenic and mercury remain trapped in the composer’s threads nearly 200 years after his death. These insights could provide new insights not only into understanding Beethoven’s chronic health conditions, but also into the complex nuances of his life as a composer.

How to stop bananas from browning: Extend their life with an unusual hack

Bananas are a popular and healthy delicacy, but their tendency to ripen quickly can be frustrating and lead to unnecessary food waste.

Fortunately, there is a simple way to increase their freshness that only takes a few minutes.

By separating the bananas one by one and covering their stems with plastic wrap, you can significantly extend their shelf life while maintaining their delicious taste and texture.

By stopping the ripening process at its source, the stem, bananas retain their freshness for a long time, allowing you to enjoy them at peak ripeness.

To do this, carefully separate each banana from the bunch so as not to damage them, as the separation promotes air circulation and prevents individual bananas from accelerating the ripening of others.

To effectively seal in freshness, wrap the stem end of each banana with a small piece of plastic wrap.

A tight fit is crucial to form a barrier that traps ethylene gas, the substance responsible for ripening.

After wrapping, place the bananas in a fruit bowl or counter out of direct sunlight.

Alternatively, you can hang them on a banana hanger or hook. This higher storage promotes optimal air circulation around each fruit.

By using this method, you can naturally extend the freshness of bananas and enjoy them for several more days.

Wrapping banana stems keeps them fresh four to five days longer than normal.

However, after cooking, put them in the fridge to reduce food waste and save a little money on your grocery shopping this summer.

Bananas are usually stored in the refrigerator once they are fully ripe and turn yellow, as the cool and dry climate prevents them from fully ripening, meaning green bananas stay green.

Where did the bad games in Paris come from? The answer is simple

Polish activism surged during the Paris Games. Rarely has there been so much talk about people who, in theory, exist to provide our representatives with optimal conditions for preparation. Against this backdrop, the star of Radosław Piesiewicz, a protégé of Jacek Sasin, now the PiS presidential candidate and head of the Polish Olympic Committee, shone brightest. In Paris, Piesiewicz clearly had a problem keeping his ego in check; he preens in front of the cameras and tries to build an image of a well-informed person. He reported on the injury of volleyball player Michał Bieniek at X three times, which – which was pointed out by the nervous coach Nikola Grbic — made the task easier for the Americans.

It was Piesiewicz who also accomplished the most daring feat, which would have made the great Simone Biles proud – before the games, he appeared on the covers with our medal hopes, and shortly before extinguishing the torch, he said on Radio Zet that “the Polish Olympic Committee is not responsible for the preparation of athletes.”

Where did the bad games in Paris come from?

These Games will not only be remembered by fans, but will also occupy a prominent place. However, the medals in volleyball and tennis, which have been awaited for decades, cannot hide the truth about Polish Olympic sports.

The reality is that we are experiencing the worst Olympic Games since 1956. We are below the Philippines in the medal standings and we took a medal away from the athletics stadium.

Before the Olympics, we wrote in “Newsweek” that no political party has an idea for Polish sport. We have been operating without a plan for decades, medals are awarded by outstanding individuals, not by the system. That we need to answer fundamental questions.

Maybe we should decide as a society to stop subsidizing associations, stop giving scholarships and spend that money on general sports and subsidize facilities so that going to the pool with a family of four doesn’t break the bank? Let the unions operate, but with sponsors’ money. If someone wants to play sports professionally, they should take care of themselves.

Stupid? Certainly better than what we have now, when we act on a case-by-case basis.

An important caveat here: Olympic medals do not come from the universality of sport, the number of physical education classes or the availability of stadiums and sports halls. It is well known that the state must do everything to encourage the mobility of its citizens. But in this way it strives to increase life expectancy and ease the burden on the health system, not for a place in the medal standings.

What to do with Polish sport

Medals, however trivial they may seem, need to be invented. So if we decide that we are going to invest in professional sports, that we have the conditions to play in the Olympics, we will create a plan, think about which sports we want to invest in, we will set goals for the athletes, we will audit our associations, we will do everything that, shortly before the end of the next Games, the Polish Prime Minister, rejoicing in his successes, he did not need to add at the same time:

“I would very much like to reveal all the signs that Polish sport has become a way for politicians or activists to make a lot of money. I want the POC and sports associations to be accountable to the public for public money.”

I would not like to prioritise Donald Tusk’s challenges, we know under what conditions he took over the country from PiS. We know what the previous government did with state-owned companies. But I am convinced that not even the Prime Minister expects how many bodies lie in all these closets of activists in Polish sports associations that have not been disturbed for decades.

Why the fastest growing place in the US for young children is the metro with the oldest residents

THE VILLAGES, Fla. (AP) — As one of the world’s largest retirement communities, The Villages in Central Florida is known for its endless golf courses, the oldest median age in the United States and its traffic-stopping golf cart parades. supporting a Republican candidate during the campaign season.

What it is not known for is the children.

Yet the home of The Villages has become the fastest-growing children’s metro station in the United States this decade.

The number of children 14 and under has increased by 18.4% this decade in the Wildwood-The Villages metro area. The biggest reason is that the working-age population has grown by 19.1%, also making it the fastest-growing U.S. metro area for that age group this decade, according to population projections released by the U.S. Census Bureau this summer.

“Someone has to provide services to this growing senior citizen population, and many of those workers are young adults with children who live in the county,” said Stefan Rayer, director of the population program at the University of Florida’s Center for Economic and Business Research. in Gainesville.

Such workers include lawn care providers, plumbers, electricians, financial advisors, nurses, construction workers, real estate agents, roofers and physical therapists in a retirement community that has grown from a remote rural area to one of the fastest growing places in the region. in the United States since the 1990s.

The Wildwood-The Villages metro area had more than 151,500 residents last year, most of whom are senior citizens, compared to 130,000 residents in 2020.

Due to the population structure of the region, raising children is challenging.

Morgan Philion, 31, has to drive to a neighboring Central Florida county for obstetrician appointments or take her 2-year-old son to a pediatric dentist because there are no available appointments locally. When they want to visit the children’s museum, they drive 80 miles (128 kilometers) southwest on Interstate 75 to Tampa.

“Storytime” at the local public library has become a lifeline for Philion and other young families in the Wildwood-The Villages metro area.

“It’s really hard to find something to do, and this is the only activity they offer the kids,” Philion said.

On weekdays, librarians, including Anita Stevenson, lead a dozen to two dozen preschoolers in reading songs, shooting bubbles from a handheld device and telling stories called “Betty Goes Bananas” and “Cock-a-Doodle Quack! Quack!”

“There are a lot of new families moving in,” said Stevenson, pointing to newly built apartment buildings along the street.

Eldresah St. Fleurant, 28, her husband and two young daughters were among the families who moved into the apartments next to the library when they struggled to find a home because many communities in the area were geared only to those 55 and older.

“It’s good and it’s bad,” St. Fleurant said of raising children in the area.

On the one hand, the explosive growth offers countless job opportunities and new stores, but the county also lacks family-friendly facilities, such as an urgent care center for children. The library’s “Storytime” is an exception.

“If you’re not going to do something like this, you’re not going to find young families cruising here,” he said.

Sarah Feeney’s 3-year-old son uses hearing aids. He said it was a “nightmare” to find an audiologist to see children in the Wildwood-The Villages area because all the medical services “are geared toward the older generation.” Now drive 60 miles (96.5 kilometers) down the Florida Turnpike to Orlando for these meetings. They also had difficulty finding a church that had a youth program.

Despite all this, the 40-year-old has enjoyed living in Wildwood since moving from St. Petersburg, Florida, less than a year ago.

“It’s less crowded. It’s less stressful and it’s more manageable,” said Feeney, who also has a 5-month-old son.

No one under the age of 19 may live in the villages, and at least one family member must be 55 or older. Because of the age restriction, the growth of young families has been outside the villages in some small villages, such as Wildwood and Oxford.

Recognizing the rise of youth, The Villages recently opened Middleton, a planned residential development next to a retirement community aimed at workers and their families.

For older residents of The Villages, like 60-year-old Chris Stanley, the family stream is a breath of fresh air, but he worries about a growing shortage of affordable housing and overcrowding in schools. The school district has 13 schools for 9,400 students. The highly rated Villages Charter School is restricted primarily to the children of employees.

“We’re here until we scream. We’re frogs,” Stanley joked. “We built this huge infrastructure here and we need people to run it. If we don’t have young kids here who can afford to live here and pay for daycare and housing, we have a real problem.”

Wildwood-The Villages had a median age of 68 last year, the oldest in the nation, but is down from 68.4 at the start of the decade due to an infusion of youth. At the same time, the median age in the US rose from 38.5 to 39.1 this decade.

Children still represent a small percentage of the county’s population — 7.2% of Sumter County’s population last year — compared to more than 21% for the U.S. as a whole. But it is increasing, from 6% a decade ago.

The growth is in stark contrast to what’s happening nationally, as the number of US children aged 14 and under fell 3.3 percent this decade. The largest US metro areas – New York, Los Angeles and Chicago – have lost a combined 614,000 children since 2020.

Sumter County Commissioner Andrew Bilardello has been in the area long enough to remember when there was only one traffic light. Back then, in the 1980s, high school graduates either joined the military, went to college, or moved in-state to Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa for work.

Few young people stayed, Bilardello said, so he’s glad to see this decade’s growth in a community of children and working-age residents who have some of America’s oldest residents.

“We want to keep the young people here,” Bilardello said. “It’s our future.”

TVN Warner Bros. Sale Discovery to Buyer PPF RTL Group Mediaset Antenna Group TV2 Media Mediaset Canal+ ‘

A few days ago, the Financial Times reported that Warner Bros. Discovery is conducting a review of its assets. This may result in the decision to sell TVN. Due to the decline in the United States, the company has significantly reduced the valuation of its television segment and wants to focus on developing streaming. The Nielsen Gauge study shows that, for example, in June this year in Poland, streaming accounted for 8.3% of the total audience on TV screens. Although this share is usually growing in our country, we are still far from the US (40.3%).

In 2023, the operating profit of the TVN capital group increased from PLN 365.18 to PLN 461.68 million, and the net profit – from PLN 331.79 to PLN 419.67 million. However, streaming trends from abroad will sooner or later reach Poland. For the Americans, this may be the last chance to sell TVN at a good price. – If there is someone willing to put up the money, the transaction can happen quickly. – argued Robert Kwiatkowski, member of the National Council for Social Communications and former president of TVP, in an interview with Wirtualnemedia.pl.

Is it more likely to be an industry investor or an investment fund? – An investment fund will not buy it, because an investment fund buys companies with the hope that they will develop quickly and that it will sell them relatively quickly at a high sales price. The same cannot be said about TVN. TVN does not meet this criterion, so I would be very surprised if the fund wanted to invest in this broadcaster. I do not know which TV companies could invest in the broadcaster. I do not see any of them in Poland. The only player who could be interested is Zygmunt Solorz, but he will not do so because the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection will not consent to such a transaction. Then he would have a dominant position in the TV advertising market – said Jakub Bierzyński, head of OMD Poland.

A long list of potential buyers

It is not known whether Warner Bros. wants to sell Discovery only terrestrial channels (TVN, TVN7, TTV, Metro) and pay channels (TVN24, TVN24 BiS, TVN Turbo, TVN Style, TVN Fabuła, iTVN, iTVN Extra) and the Player streaming service, which recently encouraged users to sign up to move to the Max platform. Therefore, it is difficult to speculate on the value of a possible transaction. There are entities, both abroad and in Europe, that could fight for it.

Antenna Group

Antenna Group, better known as ANT1 Group, is currently the largest media company in Greece. ANT1 began its operations in 1989 with the launch of Radio 97.2 (now Easy 97.2), a radio station in Athens. In the same year, it launched Radio ANT1 97.5 Thessaloniki (now Easy 97.5). In 1990, ANT1 Television was founded. Later, the company also invested in Internet access services. It currently owns radio stations Kiss FM, Magic FM, Rock FM, One FM in Romania, Moldova and Cyprus. In Romania, it also broadcasts music TV channels Kiss TV, Magic TV, Rock TV. In Cyprus, channel ANT1.

In autumn 2021, the company acquired Sony Pictures Television Network channels in Central and Eastern Europe. In Poland, the move covered the television stations AXN, AXN Black, AXN White, AXN Spin and the streaming service AXN Now. In total, the transaction involved 22 TV stations and two OTT services in 12 markets. The purchase of TVN would allow the company to significantly expand its operations in one of Europe’s most important markets. However, outside Greece and Cyprus, Antenna Group focuses on themed channels rather than terrestrial channels. In recent years, instead of acquiring more popular channels, the Greek company has sold, for example, Slovenia’s Planet TV and Serbia’s Prva.

Canal+

In its native France, the company is the broadcaster of the free channel C8, which is due to disappear from digital terrestrial television in 2025. The local regulator took this decision after numerous sanctions and warnings against the broadcaster, which in one of its programmes allegedly promoted the far right and dissent towards, among others, LGBT or immigrants. In Poland, Canal+ is linked to Grupa Kino Polska, which already broadcasts the Stopklatka channel on MUX-1.

Canal+, whose minority shareholder is TVN Media, has never shown any interest in free-to-air television. The French group mainly invests in pay-TV providers and streaming services. These include, for example, the African company MultiChoice or the Asian platform Viu. Canal+ has also acquired 30 percent of Viaplay shares. The French are slowly losing faith in traditional television. In their domestic market, they have started offering many channels only via streaming. They recently decided to sell the Hungarian platform Digi. They will focus on launching a streaming service in the country.

Disney

Newsletter WirtualneMedia.pl in your mailbox

At the beginning of 2022, after the dissolution of the Player’s free packages, we reported that the platform had 1.5 million regular paying subscribers. If this base could be maintained and developed, TVN could certainly expand the Disney+ subscriber base. The problem is that after the launch of Max, many subscribers probably switched to this platform. The player should focus on free content (FAST and AVoD). Disney’s closest cooperation in the Polish market is with Polsat, a competitor of TVN.

In recent years, Disney has eliminated more than 100 linear stations in many markets, sometimes famous channels like Disney Channel or National Geographic. A year ago, the American media reported that, even in the domestic market, the company was considering selling ABC or ESPN. This shows that the company is unlikely to be interested in new investments in broadcast TV. A similar move is also unlikely in the context of Paramount Global, which is currently changing ownership. Owners such as MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and WBD are struggling with the decline of traditional television.

MFE-Mediaforeurope (formerly Mediaset)

Last autumn, Pier Silvio Berlusconi, son of Silvio Berlusconi, the former right-wing Italian prime minister and media mogul who died a year ago, announced the creation of a “major European broadcaster”. It would be an alternative to the American streaming giants. Since 2019, MFE has been steadily increasing its stake in ProSiebenSat.1. The Italians are the largest shareholder (30% of the shares give them control) in the Munich company and want to split it up to implement the plan to create a super broadcaster. Polski TVN would certainly fit into these ambitions. In our country, Polonia 1 was founded by Nicola Grauso, associated with Berlusconi.

The MFE portfolio includes, among others: Italian channels Canale 5, Italia 1, Rete 4, TGCOM 24, 20, Iris, La 5, Cine 34, Mediaset Extra, Focus, Top Crime, Italia 2, Twenty Seven, Boing and Cartoonito. In the latter two channels, MFE is partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery as majority shareholder (51%). The former Mediaset also has channels in Spain: Telecinco, Cuatro, Be Mad, FDF, Energy, Divinity and Boing. ProSiebenSat.1 operates in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (including ProSieben, Sat.1, Kabel Eins, ATV, ATV 2, Puls 4, Puls 8).

PPF Group

Czech PPF Group became famous after buying 29.29 percent. shares of Viaplay, becoming the second shareholder of this platform after Canal+. In October 2020, the company completed the acquisition of CME from AT&T (Warner Media). Central European Media Enterprises’ portfolio includes television channels from the Czech Republic (TV Nova, Nova Cinema, Nova Action, Nova Fun, Nova Gold, Nova Lady, Nova Sport 1-3, Nova International), Bulgaria (bTV, bTV Cinema, bTV Comedy, bTV Action, bTV Lady, Ring), Croatia (RTL, RTL 2, RTL Kockica, RTL Living, RTL Crime, RTL Passion, RTL Adria, RTL Croatia World), Romania (Pro TV, Acasă, Acasă Gold, Pro Arena, Pro Cinema, Pro TV Internațional, Pro TV Chisinau), Slovakia (Markiza, Markiza Domo, Markiza Dajto, Markiza Krimi, Markiza Klasik, Markiza International) and Slovenia (Pop TV, Kanal A, Brio, Oto, Kino, Astra).

Such a portfolio of television stations from across Central and Eastern Europe could allow for possible synergies or cooperation in programming. Although PPF Group was founded in the Czech Republic, it is currently headquartered in Amsterdam. The city is also where the formal owner of TVN is located. The main owner of the company was the richest Czech, Petr Kellner, but in 2021 he died in a disaster in Alaska.

RTL Group

In the years 1996-2002, RTL7 operated on the Polish market and was the result of cooperation between a German company and Universal Studios. The broadcaster was acquired by the ITI Group and changed its name to TVN7. RTL is currently focused on Germany (RTL, RTL Zwei, RTLup, Vox, Voxup, Nitro, Toggo plus, Super RTL, NTV, RTL Crime, RTL Passion, RTL Living) and Austria and Switzerland, where it broadcasts versions of selected stations for these countries.

After an unsuccessful attempt to conquer the Polish market, the Germans tried their luck in other Central European countries. In 2022, the Croatian TV channels were sold to CME (PPF Group). The company continues to operate in Hungary (RTL, RTL Gold, RTL Otthon, RTL Kettő, RTL Három, Muzsika TV, Moziklub, Kölyökklub, Film+, Cool TV, Sorozat+, Sorozatklub), in Belgium (RTL TVI, RTL Club, RTL Plug ), the Netherlands (RTL 4, RTL 5, RTL 7, RTL 8) and Luxembourg, where it operates as a public broadcasting organization.

TV2 Media

Entertainment and lifestyle channel PTV, entered by TV2 Média, has taken part in the MUX-8 digital terrestrial television competition. The Hungarian broadcaster submitted an application not only to the National Broadcasting Council, but also to the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, for the registration of a word and graphic trademark. Repuablika and wPolsce24 won the case, but perhaps the Hungarians have not had the last word on our market. The station’s owner is József Vida, a Hungarian banker and economist who is close to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s childhood friend Lőrinc Mészáros. The channel was criticized by the opposition for supporting the head of government, for example, praising his favorable photo on social media.

The TV2 profile is universal. The offer includes series, films, game shows, news and current affairs programs. TV2 Média has several themed channels in Hungary. These are: Izaura (soap operas), Jocky TV (classic series), Mozi+ (films), Moziverzum (films), Prime (entertainment), Spíler1 TV, Spíler2 TV (men’s entertainment and sports), Super TV2 (entertainment), TV2 Comédia (comedies), TV2 Kids (for children), TV2 Klub (for women), TV2 Séf (cooking), Zenebutik (music). The broadcaster also has the streaming service TV2 Play. In 2020, Telekom Slovenije announced the sale of the Slovenian Planet TV channels to a Hungarian company. Planeta 2 and Planeta Eva. The broadcaster has also applied to broadcast on digital terrestrial television in Serbia.

Paris 2024. Flute at the Stade de France. Polish athletes fell from their high horses

Paris Correspondence
This year’s Games were not a time of missed opportunities. The Polish Athletics Association (PZLA) fielded a large but average team. There were several internationally renowned figures, about a dozen competitors who gave hope for a bright future, and – this is probably the largest group – many middle-class European athletes who go to major events because the meetings held in Poland make it easier to collect ranking points.

Natalia Kaczmarek came to Paris as the leader of the world lists, so we had the right to believe in the medalthat she won. Just as the 35-year-old hammers Paweł Fajdek and Wojciech Nowicki, chased by young and hungry, will fight for the podium, although the latter spoke after the qualifying rounds: : – I know there are expectations, but people: I’m old, I do what I can.

Julia Szeremeta

Anita Włodarczyk is a three-time Olympic champion and an expert in staying in shape for the most important competitions, but in Paris – these were her last Olympics – She couldn’t add the medal with the hammer. Five centimetres to go. Ewa Swoboda (100m) and Pia Skrzyszowska (100m hurdles) were close to advancing to the final, and Adrianna Sułek, returning to the sport after pregnancy, took twelfth place in the heptathlon. They have a future ahead of them.

Paris 2024. Maria Andrejczyk: Life has beaten me, but I have beautiful years ahead of me

A special case is that of Maria Andrejczyk, a notable Olympic figure. The javelin thrower has advanced to the finals of major events four times in her career, including three times at the Olympic Games. She finished fourth in Rio de Janeiro (2016) and second in Tokyo (2021), and has now qualified to finish eighth in the competition. “I ruined my concert work because the level was pathetically low,” she explains.

Starting August 24, 2024, patients will gain new opportunities registration for doctors Thanks central electronic registry. This system aims to streamline the registration process, reduce waiting times and enable remote management of visits. The introduction of the pilot is the first step towards mandatory electronic registration, which will eventually cover all medical facilities in Poland. What are the rules for electronic registration?

Central electronic registry for doctors from 24 August 2024

On August 24, 2024, the Minister of Health’s ordinance regarding the launch comes into force central electronic registry for selected medical services. It was published on August 9 in the Law Review. This solution aims to streamline the registration process for specialists and examinations, as well as reduce waiting times for appointments. The pilot will cover only a few selected medical services.

Digitalization is a priority for the Ministry of Health because we consider that the development of e-health systems is the future. However, the implementation of the central electronic registry requires significant changes at the statutory level, as well as the certainty that the recipients of the system will be prepared for it, emphasized Deputy Minister of Health Wojciech Konieczny at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Health in May.

What services does the Central Electronic Registry pilot include?

As part of the pilot central electronic registrythat will last from August 24, 2024 to October 31, 2025Patients will be able to use a new method of scheduling medical appointments for the following services:

visits to a cardiologist;preventive examinations within the scope of the cervical cancer prevention program (mammography and cytology);preventive exams as part of the breast cancer prevention program.

The pilot will be carried out in two phases: preparation and implementation, and then evaluation.

Objectives of the electronic central record. How will patients benefit from the changes?

The Ministry of Health has set several main objectives for the new system electronic recordwhich are ultimately intended to improve access to medical services:

the patient’s ability to independently search for available dates;maintaining a central queue for selected services;possibility of preparing central reports and their subsequent modification;provision of admission times to the e-Health Center by units;possibility of canceling the visit or changing its date;availability of registrations at any facility participating in the pilot.

Thanks to these features patients They will be able to manage their appointments remotely, which will increase flexibility and convenience in using healthcare.

Central electronic registry 2024. How to register for a consultation? Paths

Patients will have several ways to schedule a medical appointment or examination covered by the pilot program. These possibilities include:

reports via Online Patient Account (IKP);direct registration with the pilot program implementer – in person, by telephone or through electronic means of communication;reporting in any medical pointif the doctor offers this option.

The same methods will also be available when changing the date of an appointment or canceling it. It is important that telephone and in-person appointments are made during agency opening hours.

Central electronic registration 2024. How to choose an appointment?

As the ministry guarantees, the system electronic record allows patients to tailor their visit to their needs. When making a report, the patient or third party can specify preferences such as:

date of visit;selection of the installation that implements the program;territorial scope – voivodeship, city, distance from the location;selection of a specific medical employee (if the system allows);form of service provision – in person or remotely;priority in the queue if the patient has the right to use the services outside of office hours.

Thanks to that patients they will be able to narrow down the list of doctors and facilities to those that specifically meet their needs and choose the best option among them.

Central electronic registry: ultimately mandatory

Although central electronic registry starts as a pilot, Ministry of Health plans to make this happen from mid-2025 mandatory for all medical facilities.

We are starting consultations on statutory amendments that sanction the central registry as a mandatory tool from April 2025, preparing for a natural exit from the pilot program – concluded Deputy Minister of Health Wojciech Konieczny at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Health in May 2024.

The pilot will start with cardiology and prevention of breast and cervical cancer. The project budget is PLN 56 million and will be used for training and infrastructure development. Although the previous pilot failed, this time the Ministry expects better results thanks to the advanced preparatory phase.

The previous e-registration pilot, carried out under the direction of Adam Niedzielski (from June 2022 to March 2023), ended in failure. Of the 66 registered units, 29 qualified, but 18 of them immediately withdrew from the programme due to difficulties in adapting to their needs.
