Goodbye Hello Craft Show returns on Saturday – LocalNews8.com
POCATELLO, ID (KIFI) – Pocatello is opening a one-stop shop for local businesses this weekend.
The Goodbye Hello Craft Show will be held Saturday at the Mountain View Event Center.
This event is held three times a year and each time more than 140 local vendors participate. Pocatello’s largest craft show.
This craft show was started by owners of Goodbye Hello Crafts and Boutique Kristi Payne and Jamie Helmandollar. They say they wanted to fill a gap for local businesses in the community.
“We have about 3,000 people in the audience for every show,” Hermandaler said. “So it’s a huge opportunity for people who are creating things in their own homes or spare bedrooms. It’s pretty amazing to be able to gather such a large audience and show off what you’re capable of.” I think it’s very important for many small businesses to hold events like this because they don’t have the opportunity otherwise.
The craft show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free.

Where does Indiana fit into the national craft beer decline?
I’m personally not a huge craft beer consumer, but I really enjoy local festivals with beer gardens and tastings. The atmosphere is always really lively and it’s always a great time. That being said, there’s some news in the craft beer world that may come as a bit of a surprise to those who frequent taphouses.

According to Just Drinks, U.S. craft beer production will decline by just over 5% in 2023, and the craft brewery closure rate rose to 4% in the same year. In Indiana specifically, 11 breweries have permanently closed, as highlighted in a Facebook post from Indiana Beer & Spirits News. This is probably the last thing any craft beer lover wants to hear, but luckily there’s more to the story.
The Brewers of Indiana Guild is a nonprofit organization that promotes the craft beer industry throughout the Hoosier State. There are currently about 200 craft breweries operating in Indiana and employing about 10,000 people, according to the company’s website. Julia Whitson, the organization’s executive director, recently told Axios Local that part of the decline in production is due to the fact that more breweries are experimenting with CBD-focused beverages along with distillation. He said it was due to. Essentially, the decline in production isn’t just because fewer people are interested in craft beer.
The demand for craft beer may not be what it was in the 2010s, but the market for craft beer certainly exists, and I don’t see it going away anytime soon. Some businesses have closed, and the reasons can range from licensing issues to simply “exiting” owners preparing for retirement. (See what I did there?) The tri-state area is full of great breweries with phenomenal products. If you’re in the mood for a beer, you’re definitely welcome. cheers!

In DeSales, Hollywood actors Dan Lauria and Dan Roebuck reflect on their craft and showbiz
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — When actors Charles Durning and Jack Krugman died just hours apart on Christmas Eve in 2012, Dan Lauria made a heartfelt request to dim the lights on Broadway.
Lauria, now in his 70s and best known for playing the father on “The Wonder Years,” told his story Friday during a panel discussion inside the DeSales University Center.
He was joined on stage by fellow actor and soon-to-be Santa Daniel Roebuck.
The two appeared together on stage at “Conversation with Dance,” part of the workshop “Literacy and Retail Symposium.”
The event also featured author conversations with author Maria Rodale, professor Dr. Catherine Ramsland, actress Shelley Dennis, and journalist Vicki Make.
“Before, I felt more human.”Lauria and Roebuck both began working in television and film in the ’80s, and both spoke lightly about the themes of artificial intelligence and ageism in Hollywood, while also mentioning other criticisms.
They agreed that the audition process lacks depth because it is done through video calls, cell phone recordings, and other technological means.
“We used to go to auditions to have a more human experience,” said Roebuck, 61.
“I remember one time I took my dad to an audition and he wanted to meet Tom Wilson, who played Biff in Back to the Future. The next thing I heard was… All I could hear was my father laughing hysterically. I can’t take anyone with me anymore. [also] It’s because of Corona. ”
faith based moviesMidway through their careers, the “Dan” duo decided to literally flip the script and write their own material.
Roebuck, known for his roles in the TV series “Lost” and “Matlock” and the film “The Fugitive,” wrote and starred in four films shot in the Lehigh Valley as a love letter to his hometown.
His films include “Getting Grace,” “Lucky Louie,” “Hail Mary,” and most recently “Saint Nick of Bethlehem,” which finishes filming next week.
The idea to make a holiday movie was a cheeky response to the 2023 Hallmark movie The Miracle of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, which was filmed in Winnepeg, Canada.
The public is invited to the Christmas Bazaar and Wrap Party at SureStay Plus by Best Western Lehigh Valley in Bethlehem on Saturday, April 28th.
The event will raise money for Channel of Peace, a charity he co-founded to fund faith-based films such as “St. Nick.”
“Actors don’t retire”Lauria, who starred in Broadway productions of “Lombardi” and “A Christmas Story: The Musical,” is similarly busy and will soon begin rehearsals in Manhattan for her upcoming off-Broadway debut, “Just Another Day.” In May.
To finance the $300,000 project, the veteran actor sold his Los Angeles home.
“Actors don’t retire, they live on.”
TV star Daniel Lauria
“I’m 77 years old, so what am I going to do?” he said. “Jack Krugman and Charles Durning were literally my mentors. When they were 87 and 86, they put on plays that I discovered. [them] And they loved it. Actors don’t retire, they keep going. ”
One of Lauria’s first screenplays, “Dinner with the Boys” is a play about his four best friends: Krugman, Durning, Dom DeLuise, and Peter Falk.
“When Peter passed away, I kept the play in storage for almost 10 years until I brought it up,” said Lauria, who passed away in 2011.
“Jack and Peter were the hardest working actors. Peter kept me hooked and Charlie and Dom were so much fun. They were great people.”

Craft Beer Supplier Plans New Millennium City Facility » Milwaukee’s Urban Center

Craft Beverage Warehouse (CBW) is looking to develop a new facility in the Century City Business Park near North 31st Street and West Capitol Drive.
The company, which supplies direct-to-can digital printing to breweries and other beverage manufacturers, is looking to expand its presence in the space as it expands its business.
CBW already occupies about one-third of the 53,160-square-foot Century City 1 building, which will be the first new building constructed on the 84-acre former AO Smith site.
Founded in 2020, the company is currently looking for more room to grow.
“We basically have no warehouse space left. We do all of our manufacturing in our current building,” CBW President Kyle Stevens said Thursday at the Milwaukee City Redevelopment Authority board meeting. “This proposal solves many problems for us.”
The company is pursuing a structure similar in size and design to the first one.
Get a daily recap of Milwaukee stories
“We’ll probably use half of it ourselves and then try to attract small businesses,” Stevens said.
The new building will provide administrative and warehouse space, and the existing facility will be used for printing.
Stevens said the business started with five employees and has grown to 11. “We’re doubling our production capacity, so we’re in the process of doubling our workforce,” he told the board. “He plans to employ at least 25 full-time employees when he opens the warehouse and office space.”
The original building was acquired by Good Opportunity Fund I, LLC, an affiliate of Good City Brewing. At the time, Mr. Stevens was Good City’s vice president of financial management and a partner in the acquisition group.
Stevens and Michael DeGrave launched CBW in 2020.
“We started very locally,” Stevens says. But while the business remains locally focused, it’s spread across North America. “Eighty percent of our business is within 300 miles of Milwaukee.”
The idea for Century City’s second modern industrial building was first proposed in 2021 by then-Good City CEO Dan Catt. However, exclusive negotiating rights have expired. Mr. Stevens’ group will have nine months of exclusivity to negotiate the purchase of the 4.7-acre site at 3055 W. Hopkins Ave.
Century City 1’s existing tenants include Planet to Plate’s 100-acre urban farm, Klein Dickert Grass, B83 Test and Engineering, and Thompson Safety.
The board of directors unanimously approved exclusive negotiating rights. Purchase and sale agreements require additional legal approvals.
CBW announced production expansion in February.

I’ll pay attention. Inside, guests can tour the manufacturing facility. The production facility includes a separate distillation and brewing room with state-of-the-art equipment and is capable of producing more than 100,000 barrels of beer annually. This is equivalent to 10 times his production before the renovation.

Master the art of storytelling on and off screen.
Don Cheadle
On behalf of PopCorners®
When it comes to the art of mastering your craft, Don Cheadle’s career serves as the ultimate case study. The award-winning actor has always shown a knack for bringing different roles to life through his dynamic storytelling skills, and that continues to be the case with his latest endeavor. Cheadle recently starred in the brand’s latest commercial, “Get Caught with Something Good,” where he plays the host of a bootlegger that serves patrons favorite flavors from famous brands. Cheadle was excited about the opportunity. It’s a brand he actually enjoys.
“I was so happy when PopCorners® contacted me because it’s a product that I actually enjoy. It’s always fun to promote a good alternative. is a great addition and I love snacks. When it came to working with their creative team to find a fun way to promote their brand in this new commercial, it was a no-brainer. I was so excited when the opportunity came to play host with a friend who couldn’t get enough of the message. It was a lot of fun.”
As someone with a successful career as an actor, the role was consistent with Cheadle’s previous projects, where he provided comic relief through his portrayal of the character. When it comes to using their talents to overcome barriers, actors make it a habit to look for roles with a purpose in order to build a better connection with the audience.
“We believe that our work has the disruptive power to transcend people’s walls and defensive reactions,” Cheadle told ForbesBLK. “If you can entertain with comedy and make people laugh, you can sneak in a lot of great things. I’ve always wanted something that is meaningful and can move everything forward in a way that doesn’t feel like a drug.” looking for.”
Cheadle has played a number of roles throughout his career and attests that he hopes to learn from each experience and continue to grow in his craft.
“There hasn’t been a project where I haven’t learned something about the subject matter, the characters I play, or just about acting and myself in general,” Cheadle said. “I always try to grow and keep gaining experience to be better at what I do. I always try to work smarter, not harder, and it’s been a great journey. was.”
As the entertainment industry continues to evolve, Cheadle feels it’s gotten a little harder to navigate, even though there’s been a lot of change over the past few years.
“The introduction of streaming services has further expanded the industry, but on the contrary, streaming has had a negative impact on business. Everyone is in a hurry to create content and decide whether it is worth putting on screen or not. After COVID-19 and the writers’ strike, our business seems much different than before. We’re still waiting to discover what it will be like. It’s never been easy, but now it’s getting a little harder.”
When not working hard, the narrator prefers to retreat to rest as a form of self-care.
“I try to get a lot of sleep. When you work 13 or 14 hours a day, you have to prioritize rest and recovery so you have something to bring to work each day,” Cheadle told ForbesBLK. told. “I always try to eat well, sleep well, get massages, and take care of my voice. That’s my goal: work hard and get plenty of rest.”

Adobe Stock #107767526
Need some easy Mother’s Day craft ideas for your Sunday school kids? We’ve got you covered! Please help us make Mother’s Day meaningful and memorable for our church family. Check out this free message and Mother’s Day craft for kids.
Mother’s Day Bible Message: Because I Love YouBible: Exodus 20:12
you will need:
Bible flowers (one per child)
Say: Today is Mother’s Day! So let’s honor our mothers in a special way. Please show me the flowers. Aren’t these flowers pretty? You can each get one and gift it to mom, grandma, or a special caregiver in your family.
If you are leading this Bible message in front of your congregation, encourage your children to send flowers now. If you are leading this in a children’s church setting, wait by handing out flowers to the children when your time together is over.
listen:
How do these flowers remind you of your mother or the caregiver you love? How does giving flowers honor someone? What other ways can we show respect to people?
Say: Flowers are a wonderful way to honor someone and show your love. You can also show honor by telling your mother that you love her, helping around the house, and being fun to be around. Also mention other ways the children talked about it.
honor mamaOpen your Bible to Exodus 20:12.
Say: This is what God says about our parents. “Honor your father and your mother, and you may live long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”
The Bible says to “honor” those who value you. To “respect” means to show deep respect and affection towards someone.
Next time your mom asks you for something, remember to cheerfully say, “Okay, mom!” I do it because I love it! ” But be careful! She might startle her so much that she passes out. Then get ready to pick up her mom from her floor.
Pray: Dear God, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for our mothers, grandmothers, and all the people who love and care for us. We know you will help us treat them with love and in a special way. Remember that, not just on Mother’s Day, but every day.
Please send the children back. Give your mom, grandma, or other special caregiver a hug and tell them to say “Happy Mother’s Day!” I love you! “
