I REP THEM BURNING BUILDINGS BECAUSE THEM BURNING BUILDINGS THEY KEEP ME WARM

I’m kind of HOUSEFIRE for life, so it brings me no small amount of joy to share with you a poem I wrote just for them, which they have chosen to share with you all. DEAD SUPERMODELS SAVED MY LIFE is the anthem, so please, get ‘em up. Thanks, HF Crew!

TINY BUT OH SO DURABLE GOODS

Two of my poems appear in the tiny wonder of a journal known as Durable Goods (issue sixty-three). If you don’t yet subscribe to this hot little handmade gem, you probably maybe definitely better should.

TEACHING SUCKERS A LESSON IN TABLE MANNERS

A poem I wrote, THE KITCHEN SINK COMPARES ITSELF TO YOU, is currently loose and wandering the streets of Turkey thanks to Simon Jacobs at Safety Pin Review and our man in the trenches, Jeremy Reed. More action shots to follow.

BEACH SLOTH VERSUS JAGUAR

Beach Sloth has reviewed YOU ARE JAGUAR, the collaborative poetry joint written by Ryan W. Bradley & me. Says the Beach Sloth: “Finally a confrontational book of poetry exists.”

Deerbirds are known to thunderdome & jaguar for the sheer joy of thunderdoming & jaguaring. This is an actual fact.

GOODNIGHT BAD MORNING, A 53-WORD STORY

A short piece I wrote, GOODNIGHT BAD MORNING, which takes its title from a favorite song by the Kills, won the Press 53 53-Word Story contest this week. I’m certainly honored. Please head over and take a look. Thanks, Christine! And thanks, Meg Pokrass, for the prompt!

FORTUNES TOLD, HOUSEFIRE STYLE

I have a small something in this HOUSEFIRE FORTUNE TELLER: THE TEMPERAMENTAL DANCE. This isn’t the fortune teller I remember from grade school; this one here is rigged to explode.

Download, fold, and amaze people before you kidnap them or take their shoes. Tell them Housefire is back.

EXIT STRATEGIES {IV-VI} + PROCESS NOTES AT ATTICUS REVIEW

ATTICUS REVIEW is running the second and final installment of the film series Swoon and I did for my Gold Wake Press chapbook, EXIT STRATEGIES. My thanks to them, Swoon, Gold Wake Press, and all who have followed and enjoyed this project.

“Projects like this one are the reason we knew we wanted to feature ‘Mixed Media’ in our online journal. Simply amazing.” —Atticus Review

“‘Exit Strategies’ a videopoetry chapbook by Swoon and David Tomaloff, is a unique, impressive example of what can happen when creative minds get together.” —Atticus Books

EXIT STRATEGIES {I-III} + PROCESS NOTES AT ATTICUS REVIEW

I'm really just blown away by the attention my Gold Wake Press chapbook EXIT STRATEGIES has garnered lately. Atticus Review has kindly chosen to feature the first three in the videopoem series Swoon and I collaborated on, along with our notes on the project. Please join us as we hide from wolves, ravenous seas, and the hulking masses towering across the skyline. Good Friday fun for the whole family, in other words. GO!
