Awkward Moments Make Hilarity

Orange tree fallAwkward Moments Day

I asked people to send me their most awkward moments and here is a list of what I received. Enjoy!

An employee was washing his hands at the sink and the water sputtered and splashed the front of his pants. He looked like he either peed his pants or something else. Was not sure what to do to get out of the bathroom. Tried to blow dry it with the hands blower, when a colleague walked in and saw him in that stance with his crotch up against the warm air. He ran out of there.

A t...

William Blake on the voice of God

"The Prophets Isaiah and Ezekiel dined with me, and I asked them how they dared so roundly to assert, that God spoke to them; and whether they did not think at the time, that they would be misunderstood, & so be the cause of imposition.

Isaiah answer'd, I saw no God, nor heard any, in a finite organical perception; but my senses discover'd the infinite in every thing, and as I was then persuaded, & remain confirm'd; that the voice of honest indignation is the voice of God, I cared not for...

Technology Speeding Ahead of Morality in Action

Technology technology! Oh the delights of technology. Use coal. No coal pollutes. Shut the mines down. Use wood. No, we are killing the trees. Logging industry dead as a doornail. Use oil. No, we depend on the Arabs. How about building some nuclear plants. Go on! I dare ya!

I am just kidding! It amazes me that a nuclear plant's cooling pumps are powered by the electricity generated from the power plant itself. Battery backup set at the whopping time of eight hours. Failure mode for diesel...

Khoshaf to eat without cooking!

Foodie Friday

Today is Pecan Day

One of the most delicious nuts ever is the pecan. Even if it is a walnut look alike, the taste is completely different and much more sophisticated and tantalizing. I will share a simple recipe for warm nights, hot days and days when wanting to lose weight gets in the way of tasting food.

This concoction is a Middle Eastern recipe made in Old Testament days. Variations, changes and innovations are allowed. You can use whatever you want in this recipe but will not ...

Spiritual Water Satisfies Needs

Water is life giving! And today is World Water Day. Water is nourishing, sustaining our survival and keeping us from thirst. A person can last a long time without food but water is essential and necessary all the time.

When the Samaritan Woman argued with Jesus that He had nothing to draw water with, He responded to her by offering Himself. Living Water was what He offered that poor woman. He offered her the satisfaction of her soul. Knowing her life story, knowing her pitfalls and her...

Courtesy Takes Toll On Patience

National Courtesy Day was designated for everyone to be kind and considerate to one another. Webster's states that courtesy means: 'the showing of politeness in one's attitude and behavior towards others'.

Let us take this one step further today. Instead of just being civil and gallant, let's just step it up a notch, deciding to treat others just the way we would like to be treated.

An old adage, an ancient theme, an age tired idea that seems to slip our minds. Keep on target and stay the...

Mercy Always Wins Over Judgment

The problem with making a judgment on another is not what it does or how it affects that person. It does not in real life affect them. The judgment however affect the judge on a personal level.

A wrong judgment can bring on a spiraling state of discontent, fear, anger and any slew of other heinous, uncomfortable states.

Since none know the extent of another person's life, it is difficult to judge them with honest balance. When that happens it opens the door for more conclusions than facts...

Harper Collins Failing Everyone

Harper Collins just announced to the libraries carrying their e-books that after 26 "lendings", the book agreement with them is null and void. Hence, the free library is required to buy the same book again. Even worse, Macmillan and Simon & Schuster do not even allow libraries any e-books from their catalogs.

The nerve and gall of that failing industry still boggles the mind. Publishing companies are grasping at straws to keep their heads above water, but sink they will and soon. Willful...
