Tooth Fairy Getting Expensive

tooth-fairy.jpgWe all know that witches are everywhere waiting, lurking to take parts of you to put in their brew, like finger nail clippings, hair from your brush, a snotty tissue and even your tooth.

When a child loses a tooth, it is a time to rejoice and be excited that they are growing up. That is the time you know that, your not so little one, is on the way to having hopefully healthy solid teeth to bite into solid foods with relish.

But, you want to make sure that when your precious little one loses a t...

What Will They Wear Tonight

oscar-dress.jpgThe Academy Awards are tonight.

The night where everyone will be glued to their television sets to find out who will win and who will bomb this year.

It is all fine and good to say that you were nominated but the truth is you lost if you did not win, nominated or not, does not put that statue on your mantel, puts it in the mental.

Moreover it is not who wins that matter to me, it is what will they wear today that matters to me. I want to know who will wear something gorgeous like Kidman always d...

For Pete's Sake Bread to Bake

We have become very familiar with the brotherly St. Peter since he was the one who denied Jesus three times anyway, it is easy to take his name in vain.

Or when irritated that someone had done something really stupid and you cry out, "For Pete's sake! What did you do that for?"

You get the jist of this. A way to swear without actually swearing in front of the children. Well, swearing is in the meaning not in the actual words, or is that not so?

So, here is a recipe for this day for you to make a...

Kierkegaard, Not Antonym to Belief

soren.jpg"People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use."

— Søren Kierkegaard

Kierkegaard is by far one of our most brilliant philosophers of this time. His writings all stem from his education by a father who was well to do.

His devotion and his writings centered around the idea that we come to God individually not as a whole. It was based on the idea that the relationship with Christ was subjective and personal stemming from faith which is personal.

In America Official Advocates Live Ammunition Against Protesters

I never interfere in politics but this is ridiculous. Here in America! This is not Egypt or Libya! This is the United States of FREE America.

Jeff Cox, Deputy Attorney General of Indiana tweeted advocating that the police should use deadly force against the protesters of Wisconsin.

Now, it is really hard to believe that this moron could actually say and encourage such a thing. He must have visited the Middle East lately.

It seem that having this job for so long has made you the narrow minded ...

Chili Day Hot Food

chili-bowl.jpgSince I am an immigrant to the US, winning the Chili Contest was a shame to the guys I worked with in Lexington, KY. Bless their hearts they switched tags admitting that they could not, just let me win that one, it was "just wrong", they claimed. I have made my chili for years since then and it is still a hit.

Here is my Chie Sonia recipe for chili: Bel Hanna Wel Sheffa! (with happiness and health) roughly translated from Arabic.

1- lb 80% lean ground beef
2 -16 oz cans stewed tomatoes
1- 6 oz ...

Inconvenience Yourself Be Charitable Today

inconvenience.jpgInconvenience: Trouble or difficulty caused to one's personal requirements and comfort.

As I sit watching people come in and out of the coffee shop, in a hurry, buzzing around, taking coffee that is not made for them in their hurry, or tripping over someone's outstretched leg, I am saddened.

It would have taken her two extra seconds of inconvenienced delay to check and make sure that the coffee on the bar was prepared for her. Instead she took what was there without checking, walked out...

Veracity, A Poor Answer To Mercy

cherry-tree.jpgSince I immigrated to the States the legendary truthful or fictitious story during this day has been about Washington as a boy being truthful when asked if he chopped down the cherry tree.

Truth. A relative word or an absolute description. When we talk about the Truth are we talking subjectively or objectively. The truth to one person may not be the truth to another depending on as the movie says, the Vantage Point.

The truth, that which is in accordance with facts and reality. That is what...

Jesus Was Not A Politician!

jesus-politician.jpgThe chosen people did not follow Jesus because He told them that He was no politician, but their King and Teacher. Their expectation of the Savior Messiah was someone to lead them against the Romans or any other invasion. Jesus, was not their man. He was not a political leader.

There are times when an idea seems like a good solid, worthy one to pursue. It may not be wrong or bad, as it were. But, is it worthy of who we are in the Lord? Do we belong here in this world and is this our fight?

No, ...

Audacity Makes Mediocre Art

Art is not Art unless it speaks and is a pleasure to someone. In days of old, artists painted to please others. One could not produce a piece of trash calling it art and have others go overly enthusiastic about it. Shakespeare and Dickens wrote to entertain and please, but wrote well. Things have changed since those times of Michael Angelo and Monet.

In modern times, with diluting our responsibilities and culpability, anyone can produce anything and call it Art. I refuse to give examples lest ...
