A Haanta Cake for a Haanta Anniversary

Monday, May 23rd, marks a special day in Haanta history. It's the day that Kai Linaa first stepped off the boat to islands and met Unghaahi. This day really marks the day that the Haanta series began and therefore there must be cake.

To the right is Twisk, who was here in spirit, holding her hangaara blanket sitting with a cake marking the very first picture she ever made of Unghaahi and Kai Linaa. Before this time, she hadn't drawn in years. She professes that this drawing is terrible but we ...

Story for the Day: To the Haven

To the Haven
Teague hastened through the bustling markets to forage for some supplies, and once he had obtained some rations and suitable blankets for travel, he met Mureadh at the front gate only to discover that Mureadh had already taken the trouble of retrieving supplies for both of them. He thanked him and asked if they should not take a carriage, for though it was hardly a transport for two officers of moderate consequence, the conveyance would make the journey shorter and ther...

Story for the Day: Temporary Parting

A small piece from book 8.
A Temporary Parting                 Teague gave his congratulations once again to Connors for his most deserved promotion and was given the same likewise for gaining a most exceptional role as Commander MacDaede's right hand. He was told of her leniency and shrewdness in her rulings as commander, which Teague already had known from being trained in her regiment and being made Second Captain, but his new position would not only afford him more duties but also...

Story for the Day: Nemesis

I swear, I have a teleporting spider in my house. I'm usually very lenient with spiders, but this one was ridiculous.
Nemesis Rautu: Spider hunter                While the commander and Alasdair were enduring the horrors of the Livanon royal court, the Den Asaan sat at the entrance of his room in the guest quarter waiting for the large black spider to reappear. After his failed attempts at subduing it, the creature had crawled beneath one of the cabinets. And though a hand might reach into...

Story for the Day: Change of Name

Twisk made this. I could not resist showing it.A Change of Name                 The Den Asaan decided to perform his morning meditations from his place beside the pond and invited Hathanta and Varthrasta to join him, leaving his mate to tend to his son, but the three giants had not closed their eyes and said the first phrase of their Haakhas when Rautu felt something slight land on the bridge of his nose. A small gust of wind on his cheeks told him of his visitor, and when he opened his...

Story for the Day: The Butterfly

The Butterfly                 Kai Linaa had gone to visit Ladrei but had begged those who would to stay as long at the cottage as they should wish. The Donnegals and MacDaedes, though wanting to make their stay an extended one, could not remain in Sethshire for more than a few days. Farmers, butchers and labourers must have their due respite, but a few days was already more than their businesses and lands could afford. Money was of no consequence to them, but those who depended upon their s...
