Gail, everybody knows that the skrongest superhero is Hulk. Hulk skrongest there is.

Look. Hulk is skrong. I’m not arguing that he’s not skrong.

But Superman is EXTRA-skrong. I say Superman is the skrongest.

That Katharsis fanart is making me wonder - do you even have the ability to create or write a female character who isn't insanely cute? :P

Heh.

I am not sure if this is a fun question or a serious question.

If it’s a fun question, I like characters who have an adorable side, even if they are horrible people, generally.

If it’s a serious question, there are a few characters coming up in the Movement who are not traditionally cute, I guarantee it!

But I am blessed to work with artists who just draw adorable people. :)

Hi Gail... so I was thinking today how The Movement is a team that's predominantly women, AND predominantly people of racial/ethnic/(dis)ability minority and *probably* sexual/gender minority too (so far we know Tremor is ace but not if anyone else is quee

I’m kinda hesitant to make that claim because I am not a comic book scholar, and there may well be a hero team out there somewhere that I don’t know about that has more diversity as a percentage. I don’t know of one, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

I also don’t want to compare various efforts to have more diversity, I am happy that there was a team like, say, the new X-men, when all the teams out there were almost exclusively white.

I am happy we got to make a team that has as much diversity as the Movement has. It makes me happy, I know it makes a lot of readers happy.  That’s what counts to me. I applaud all efforts to broaden the scope of the characters in comics.

I mainly want the characters to be ones people can care about. :)

Vengeance Moth Fan Art

My best approximation of Vengeance Moth from DC Comics “The Movement” written by Gail Simone

I’ve never posted anything on Tumblr before, but Gail Simone requested fan art for The Movement so I’m going to give it a try.

This is so cute! Ven gets a spotlight in issue five, and this is almost exactly the outfit she is wearing!
