Gail, There's been a lot of talk lately about Richard Armitage (Thorin from The Hobbit) possibly taking on Batman in the Superman/Batman movie. What are your thoughts on it? Would he work as Bruce Wayne/Batman? Or can't you discuss that?

No, I can discuss it because I pay very little attention to movie news. This is the first I have heard of this rumor…he’s fantastic in the Hobbit, can’t see why he wouldn’t make a great Bruce!

Thoughtnami: Will Never Understand This

Thoughtnami: Will Never Understand This:

gailsimone:

Some people really, REALLY hold a grudge forever. It’s such a ridiculous waste of their valuable time. I don’t get it.

I have people that have followed and flamed me for a decade, I kid you not, because I dared to disagree with their opinions on comics. Or because I was an…

Sometimes it comes down to something as petty as not hating something with the same intensity that they do.

That’s just a weird way to live life, turning on anyone who disagrees with you even slightly.

Seriously, I can’t be angry, I just feel bad for them, that is way too hair-trigger for me.

Gail, I have a hobby superheroine that I work on just for my own amusement (keeps me out of trouble). Lately I've been working on a rogues gallery for my character, and I had planned to have more than half of the villains female, but so far less than a thi

I am assuming you identify as male, if I am wrong, I apologize.

But i make a point of that because I think you are saying you are concerned about making a female character “weird” for fear of how it will be perceived.

Don’t be.

Female readers don’t get mad over great female villains. Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Black Cat, Harley, these characters are all “weird” in ways that COULD be considered sexist, but because they are also great characters, they are as popular with women as they are with men.

Just make your characters great.

Do you think that authors have a responsibility to speak up when fans of their works exhibit negative behavior? Example: Let's say there is a vocal section of "The Movement" readers who, for whatever reason, made racist comments regarding Virtue. Be it on

It doesn’t matter if someone is a “fan” or not, if someone is saying racist things, they can go straight to hell and you can tell them I said so.

Do you think you would be able to bring back the whole Gen-13. Do Rainmaker know Caitlin.

I actually don’t know if Rainmaker and Sarah know each other in this continuity.

I would love it if they did, and I would love to have the rest of the team back. It took quite a lot of effort to get even just Rainmaker off the bench. We weren’t sure it was going to fly right up til the last minute!

O, Ye of Little Nerd: Red Sonja, aka My girlfriend likes it!

O, Ye of Little Nerd: Red Sonja, aka My girlfriend likes it! :

warrlamb:

My girlfriend Jenelle doesn’t read a lot of comics. (if you found this by chance, she’s Jelalagelato) It’s not really her thing after all. She likes regular ol’ books and makes it well known. I’m trying to get her in to it with mixed success. The first one she tried reading was Damsels and she’s…

That is so cool!

Thank you for sharing your love of comics with Jenelle, she sounds amazing. Tell her Sonja and I say hello!
