Miss Simone, how would I go about pitching a character to companies like DC or Vertigo? I have a series in mind already and would love the chance to have it published.

To be honest, it is almost impossible to cold-pitch to DC or Marvel. They don’t accept unsolicited submissions.

What you have to do is get work printed elsewhere first and take that to them. It’s unfortunate, but that is pretty much the only way in at this time.

Oh, Man, My Schedule Today

…is going to be fun, but exhausting!

I will be at my table at the very back of artists alley (dd10) from 10:30 to 12:30 or so.

1:00-1:50 SIGNING DARK HORSE Booth 1636

2:00-3:00 SIGNING DYNAMITE Booth 2022

4:00-4:45 PANEL FEMALE FANDOM (with Kelly Sue!)

I will be at my table most other times.

I sold out of all the scripts we brought yesterday almost immediately, in less than an hour, yikes BUT hubby left some at the hotel so there would be some for people today. If you want one, please come early, this is all we have left.

I also have some trades and comics, just a random selection.

NYCC

I was not even the tiniest bit prepared for the wave of love for my Batgirl run at this con. I honest to god thought everyone was going to feel awkward since the new version came out yesterday and I didn’t want anyone to be uncomfortable for liking the new Babs or anything. So I was all prepared for that, to try to tell peopIe it’s okay, you know? But I was not prepared for what actually happened.

Just lines of Batgirl fans sharing their favorite issues and characters and cosplays….people brought fan art and Batgirl presents and it ended up being wonderfully celebratory and once again, the kindness of readers amazes me. It was ENDLESS.

Thank you all, you are the #%^*ing best.
