So once upon a time, there was a girl who loved dinosaurs. When she was four years old, her brother bought her a stuffed dinosaur for Christmas and she named him “Littlefoot” after her favorite character from ‘The Land Before Time’.

He was her favorite and she loved him so with an unwavering devotion for years to come. Unfortunately, Littlefoot was taken from her during Hurricane Katrina. She searched her room to see if he could be recovered but he was nowhere to be found.

Nine years passed and the girl had no luck finding him anywhere online so she resigned herself to never having that same type of dinosaur plush again.

Then, one night on twitter, Gail Simone asked everyone what their favorite toy was. The girl told her story and Gail became determined to find and gift the girl with this dinosaur once more.

Suddenly, as if that was the much needed sign, the girl and Gail worked together and found the plush! Gail, out of the kindness of her heart, purchased Littlefoot for the girl.

Both Gail and the girl were pleasantly surprised when Littlefoot made his way into the girl’s possession two days ahead of schedule.

And here he is, in the girl’s arms almost nine full years after she held him last.

And this time, I’m not letting him go.

I finally got to meet Chelsea AND Littlefoot.

Tears were shed, I won’t deny it. :)

I literally know nothing about the Ventriloquist aside from him being a lame putz with a scarface doll. The ventriloquist you just posted spooks both the heebies and the jeebies out of me. I am so HYPED for Secret Six

Here’s the worst thing.

I Am Coming To England!

Somehow I ended up going to the UK I think three or four times this year (my brain is sleepy) but I have never been to the Lake District, which I have heard is extremely beautiful.

I will be there this week, the 14-17th, for COMIC ART FESTIVAL, and it sounds like it’s going to be amazing. The town is called Kendal, in Cumbria, I think, and they have gathered amazing people from all over the place, including Gary Erskine and the great Becky Cloonan!

I hope to see a bunch of you Brits there!

I have had nightmares twice only when writing comics…once writing Joker, and once writing the Ventriloquist.

So I get where you are coming from. But I think this is a side of her we haven’t seen yet, it’s not scary so much as creepy, maybe?

The book goes to VERY unexpected places.

I can’t wait for you guys to see issues four and five, holy CRAP are they fun.

Okay, About This Con

I got pulled around a lot, commitments kept getting piled on, and the fibro was not allowing me to get much sleep. So this has been exhausting and maybe my last monster con for a while.

But all of that goes away when I get to meet readers. Best part of the job. I can’t even explain it, how lovely it is to see your smiles and talk with you and geek out a little bit about our favorite comics and characters.

It means the world to me. Speaking to huge packed halls is okay, sometimes it’s fun, like the Female Fandom panel on Friday (which was AMAZEBALLS).

But the best is getting to sit for a minute and meet readers. No matter how exhausted or whatever I might be feeling, meeting readers at signings makes that all go away and my heart is full of wonderful memories after every con because of that.

I can’t express my thanks enough. I am the most fortunate writer alive. Thank you.

First there were Catman and Black Alice…then Strix…and now, at the Women of DC Comics panel at NYCC today, gailsimone announced the fourth member of the New 52’s Secret Six…THE VENTRILOQUIST! TOP NOTCH! I ADORED Gail’s re-imagined Bat-villain in Batgirl, and was hoping to see Shauna and Ferdie again! Still though…only two slots left? I guessed Floyd wouldn’t be part of the team, since he’s currently appearing in New Suicide Squad…but I HAD hoped to see Scandal again, and obviously I expected Ragdoll, given the dialogue exchange he shared in Batgirl #31. That being said, I CANNOT WAIT for Secret Six to return! Gail Simone, with Ken Lashely on art, and Dale Eaglesham doing the character designs and covers? Hard to see me not swooning over every panel of this book! 

When you guys see the art…

…you will scream. It is AMAZING HOT.
