Review - Secret Six #1 by Gail Simone
![]()
Gear up for a new comic book team starring one of DC comics more obscure bisexual heroes - Catman.
This book doesn’t delve very deep into Catman, but still Simone establishes his bisexuality subtlety on the second page — he’s lounging in a bar flirting with a woman while a man has a hand…
Interesting review from a cool blog, thanks for the kind words!
I promise cool revelations for some of the characters that you might find noteworthy…

Nifty!
Very cool!
IGN.COM has nominated me for BEST WRITER for 2014 (amazing company to be in, yikes!) and also for BEST SINGLE ISSUE OF THE YEAR for Batgirl Annual #2!
Thanks very much, guys!
Here’s the ballot, please go vote for your favorite comics and games, all!
So if hulkbuster iron man fought endgame part 1 suit batman in a no holds barred fight who would win?
I don’t know what that second thing is.
So, My New Goggies
…are adorable.
Neither of them has ever had a family or even been in a house, before. They have to learn about stairs, cars, and glass.
They are rescued racers, both of them. The younger one, the black one, is only a few months off the track, so they have spent almost their entire lives either crated or racing.
Many greys have a bit of trouble adjusting to home life, at least at first.
But these dogs are really sweet. We are very fortunate that they want to go outside to go pee, that’s a blessing that they somehow knew instinctively.
The older one is a dark brindle (she’s so beautiful that cars slow down to look at her when I take her on walks), and her name was Electra. The younger is black and named Massa. Now, this was a big concern, I didn’t know if this was some weird racist thing.
But apparently her trainer/owner was of Mexican descent and named the dog MASA which is corn meal dough, and it got transcribed oddly over the phone. Nevertheless, I can’t have a black dog and be yelling MASSA at it in public! That would not sound good at all!
She had no recognition of that name whatsoever, so it was no problem to change it. We changed the spelling of ELECTRA to ELEKTRA (because she DOES respond to her name) and we named the other dog VIXEN because she makes fox faces when she hears something interesting.
So my dogs have superhero cred!
We got them collars, leashes and harnesses in their superhero colors (Elektra’s are red, Vixens are the purple that Mari wore in Birds of Prey).
They are trying to understand having so much freedom and comfort. They LOVE running in the backyard. We are fortunate that they get along so well…they are not litter mates and haven’t spent much time together. But they act like they were raised together. They insist on eating and drinking out of the same bowls at the same time.
They are really happy, and we adore them.
Vixen had an injury at the track that was not taken care of, so one leg (right foreleg) has some soft tissue damage. She loves to run, but some days, she has a bit of a limp. Their pads are so soft right now that they have a very hard time walking on asphalt, but that will get better, it comes from being crated.
We went up to get one dog. We had our heart set on Vixen.
But when we got their, Elektra insisted on visiting and was so sweet and adorable and gorgeous, we couldn’t leave her behind.
Greyhounds are very special dogs. They are sweet, kind, eager to please, goofy, and man oh man do they love to sleep.
We are ecstatic. 2014 sucked for a lot of reasons, but on the last day of the year, we had two new family members and that changed EVERYTHING.
Happy!
Okay. So how was I supposed to choose between these two adorable...

Okay. So how was I supposed to choose between these two adorable faces?
We took both home!
Hi, Gail, long time fan here! Any chance of you coming to Brazil for Comics Festival or Comic Con Experience later this year? I'd LOVE to have you here!
I think I have a couple invitations this year, not sure if they will work out. But I desperately want to go…I have so many artist friends and readers there, and I’ve never been. Would love to see what it’s like!

It is not fair to make me miss Virtue!
Just want to pop in, say hello, & thank you, for all you have done with GLBTQUAPI inclusion in Secret Six, The Movement, & Batgirl. It was an honor meeting you & your husband, at Special Edition: NYC. Hope to see you, again. :)
Eli,
I am very proud of you.
And thank you. I feel very, very fortunate to have the readers I have in those communities. I feel very blessed.
I would pay SO much for you to have your own run with Spidey and if it was possible fix the whole "deal with Mephisto/OMD" crud. Spiderman has been a dead shell since that mess.
You don’t like what Dan Slott is doing? I am way, way behind, but he seems to have brought a ton of energy to the books.
I didn’t like the OMD idea, but I didn’t read it so I don’t know how it was executed.
I do hope to write Spidey, someday.
