hello Gail. while we're in the vein of constantine, would you be up to write his book? i've seen your interpretations of bisexual characters in the past and thought they were all amazing plus as a Hellblazer and Gail Simone fanboy alike i would personally
I would like to write him in something for sure, but I can’t help thinking that he is the ONE character at DC who should be written by a Brit.

Hope you had a happy Christmas! What's your take on Silver Banshee? I always felt she was underused.
I love her, love her look, her powers, everything. So much so that when I was making a slightly more traditional banshee in Secret Six (Jeannette), I asked if John Byrne, who created Silver Banshee, was okay with me using some visual aspects of S.B.. The idea was to tie Banshee mythology in the DCU together a little bit. He was very gracious about it.
I really like her, would use her again in a heartbeat.

What do you think of Constantine being straight-washed by NBC?? (As if there aren't enough white straight lead protagonists as it is...)
Cowardice.
There's people on the internet that will flat out deny that Bane is Latino, why do you think this is? It baffles me, because they always claim that it's some "social justice" argument. He wears a luchador mask for Odin's sake.
He is Latino, it’s canon.

How would you respond to people who complain about adding more diversity by calling it "social justice warrior crap"? I'm asking because I can't really muster more than an eyeroll when I hear/see it, heh.
I always pay close attention, SUPER CLOSE ATTENTION.
Maybe the "shit DC" person was just doing something that made them feel good.
YIKES.
Happy holidays, though!

*looks at DC and its shit fandom and creators* I don't need this universe. I wash my hands of you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Happy Holidays!
I know I say this every year, but I know the holidays can be a very rough time for many people. You can be broke, you can feel alone, you might feel unappreciated, or you can have everything in the world and still not feel okay, and the holidays can amplify that feeling.
I just want to say that it is OKAY to spoil yourself this time of year. We all have obligations and worries, but it’s okay, you can give yourself permission to buy yourself something that brings you joy, or if you can’t do that, to do something for yourself that makes you happy.
Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that we are worthy of putting down our burdens for a day and feeling happy, and feeling worthy of that happiness.
You can spend a lot on Amazon and still not get that feeling. You can shop all day and still not feel joy.
So it’s okay to take some time and do things for you. Eat a food you love, listen to music that makes you dance, watch a marathon of your favorite movies, play that computer or video game you have been wanting to play, take a delightful nap, soak in the tub while reading your favorite book. Reread emails from people you care about. Take a day and do the things that make you feel good, and tell guilt to go screw itself.
This year may not be the year that people appreciate you, or that your job is the career you want…it doesn’t mean those things are not in your future. In the meantime, it is okay to care for yourself. It’s not being selfish, even prisoners get break time sometimes. Just because you don’t have the things you want right now doesn’t mean you don’t deserve them, or that you will never have them.
In the meantime, cut yourself a break. Take one day to not be hard on yourself, to remember that you do good things in the world.
And spend some time making you happy.
