It is a definite mixed message.

When. I started Bop, they did not want Helena to have access to her family fortune. Later, other editors decided she did. It was never really explained.

This stuff happens sometimes. Not sure what the thinking was.

I can’t tell you how many times I was asked to include these things to make my comics more ‘female’ in the early days of my career.

As if those things define females.

I can’t figure out if it was self-hate or just ignorance. Why would male editors WANT to see female characters bashing men?

I love these.

Jim sent me a letter once with a Batgirl sketch on it like these, but Barbara was wearing boots not unlike the new ones she is wearing now. 

It would have been a lot of fun to do a book with Jim featuring a young Batgirl!
