Six Authors, Five Free Books

Oh yeah, it’s that time again to give away some free books from multiple bestselling authors!

This is copied from D.J. Butler’s website. He’s running it, and Larry Correia and I threw in copies of MONSTER HUNTER MEMOIRS: FEVER as part of the prize package.

SIX WRITERS are banding together to bring you a giveaway of FIVE SIGNED SFF NOVELS. This drawing will have five winners, and each winner will receive:

A copy of MONSTER HUNTER MEMOIRS: FEVER, signed by Larry Correia and Jason C...

MARSCON 2024 AAR — The “Getting Old Sucks” Edition

So Marscon was a hit again this year. Thanks to Joel and his amazing staff for making the con run smoothly (in spite all the issues outside forces were trying to cause with the con itself, the staff handled everything with class and grace).

So we actually arrived late Thursday night and after a few hellos, I went straight to bed. We’d just wrapped up Baenmoot, our annual company meeting, that day and I was just about beat. So instead of wandering around and mingling, I was asleep by 10PM.

2023 Year in Review

So 2023 was a wild year in publishing for me. It was one of the busiest years in terms of books published, as well as words written.

In 2023 I managed to have 3 novels published, 1 anthology I edited published, as well as 3 short stories (to be fair, one of those is cheating because I wrote a short story in the anthology I edited). One of those books quickly became a national bestseller (Monster Hunter Memoirs: Fever, coauthored with Larry Correia) and two others hit the orange bestseller tag...

New Online Store

Chris Kennedy Publishing kicked off their brand new online store today, and feature quite a few of my titles there. Now, instead of relying solely on Amazon, you can purchase ebooks from CKP securely and avoid Amazon entirely. I know quite a few people who would like nothing more than to avoid them, so this is your chance to help cut out the middle man, so to speak. You can find the Kin Wars here.

Also, I survived my week long trip to Utah. The signing at Red Dot Firearms was a smashing succe...

Finished and Submitted

So, lots of good news.

First off, turned in ON TOP A MOUNTAIN OF FIRE to the editor last week. Beat the deadline by a week (woot) and was very happy with the final product. It was also about 27,000 words longer than planned (oops) and, from the sounds I’m hearing from the editor, might be increasing in size. We shall see. Right not it’s slated as a Fall 2024 release, so I can’t spend a lot of time adding more words. But if more is called for, then I will endeavor.

Instead of basking in my ...

We Won An Award!

Just returned from Dragoncon and I’ll have that AAR up on Friday, if not sooner. No, I do not plan on making you wait as long as you did for the Libertycon AAR (I still feel guilty about that, really).

However…

While at Dragoncon, I received a message from my publisher, Chris Kennedy, congratulating me and asking me if I was planning on attending the awards ceremony. I had zero idea what he was talking about (I was getting crappy cell service the entire weekend) and he showed me that THE E...

DRAGONCON!!!

Three days and counting until Nerdi Gras–ahem, I mean, Dragoncon begins.

My schedule this year for Dragoncon is pretty light. Three panels, one of which is the Baen Travelling Road Show, and a booth signing. Easy peasey.

FRIDAY

11:30 AM in the Hyatt Embassy ABWhen Are We? Time Travel in SF: Time travel is a tried-and-true SF plot. Our panelists talk about the ins and outs of time travels as described by some of the masters of the field. With S. M. Stirling, Gini Koch, John Hudgens, ...
