The Wheel of Time Turns ARGH
It’s just been… it’s been, friends. It’s not even a big deal. Why am I not blogging? I don’t know. Why am I not doing a lot of things? Because I take on what’s in front of me, or what’s nagging at me, and those are the Must Do things, not the This Is What My Life Is About things. So I deal with the broken dishwasher instead of writing a blog post. I help the child (so helpless!!) figure out the super-complicated (not) creation of a Roku account so she can watch stuff on her TV.
Last month it ...

NaNoWriMo and the Week Two Blues
It’s NaNo. Am I having fun? Well, some. As so often happens, the battle plan did not survive meeting with the enemy, though there was a good struggle. I got some more Srivasi, that I may or may not keep, and then I switched my focus to Flame, where I continue to stumble on because what else am I going to do, give up? I have been trying to write more for ages. I’m not going to NOT write more during NaNo.
It is amazing, though, how much I got done this last weekend that WASN’T NaNoveling. I cle...

NaNooooooo…No?
Things are going…not well. See, I have this bad habit of thinking I’ve planned something out, when it’s more along the lines of
Gather random notes from everywhereDecide the main character’s tragic pastThink about my at-least-partly happy ending.???Ta-da! Finished Novel! And, of course, there’s that thing, the one where I decided to get to fifty thousand words by finishing (not writing from scratch!) not just one, but 2-4 left-dangling WIPs. Even though I’ve always failed at that particula...

NaNo NaNo NaNooooooo…It’s Coming
May the Best Ghost Win is live! Get it right here! Paperback to follow! Whoohoo! I’m so excited about this one, y’all, you have no idea. Yes, okay, I get excited about all of them. But that doesn’t decrease the awesome. I put out a book! It’s a good one! I hope you’ll find yourself snickering at Lammie at odd moments, and loving on Anton and wishing Ravyn would come sort out your ship. (Not that she’s particularly got her own ship sorted, but anyway.) And Penny and Quonzhenay…love ’em. ...

COVER REVEAL! May the Best Ghost Win
Most of the time, I’m really glad I’m publishing through Turtleduck Press instead of a traditional publisher. I love my fellow TDPers, and we work well together. And I honestly love having both great editors, and complete control of the finished product. It’s great!
The time I don’t like it is the week before putting a book out. The closer we get, the more I don’t like it. Gotta get the cover done. Gotta get the copy-edit done, get the sales page started on Amazon, gotta make the page on TDP,...

Once Again, Coffee Saves the World
Yesterday I snagged a “fun” size (what a misnomer, eh?) bag of peanut m&ms from the bag I bought for work, and honestly, I don’t know why I ate them all. I could not taste peanut or chocolate, just sweet. So sweet. Ugh.
It’s a “problem” I’m having of late. As I move away from all the stuff with added sugar most of the time, the occasional treat just feels like a trick. I see it as a good thing on the whole, but geez, it’s disappointing in the moment! When I get an ice cream treat, or grab a q...

NaNo Plotting (aka, Decisions? Where?)
If you’ve been around a bit (like, as long as having read my last post,) you know that I have some unfinished works lying around. Just a couple. One or two. Maybe seventeen. (It’s not seventeen.) (I hope.)
So I’ve been dithering what to do about NaNo. And dithering helps no one. So though I don’t have strong feelings about it (following “strong feelings” is how I get all these things started and then dropped when the strong feeling goes from “gotta write this omg!” to “oh geez this is hard wh...

Monday Blog of the Spooky Proceedings
If it’s Monday, I must be blogging. Right? Right. (Posted Tuesday because I finished it late. As Lammie would say and possibly regret, bite me.)
My motto for the month, across the top of my whiteboard, is “Lean into the spooky.” Because it’s October, y’all. I love October. Even though the after-book-blahs roll on. I have been poking at the things I’ll need–a cover, a blurb, the announcement page on TDP–but I haven’t gotten far. Oh, oh! But the sneak peek is up! It even has a title! May the Be...

Done, By All the Saints!
(the title seems especially appropriate since the book occurs on the eve of All Saints Day)
I finished my book and turned it in (late) on Saturday. That’s been a trend with this book, and pretty much everything else lately. It’s LATE. On the one hand, I hate it. On the other hand, it’s a freaking pandemic. Sue me.
Sunday, of course, was a super lazy day. Lots of “I’m FREEEEEE!!” and a total inability to settle into anything else.

Pretend There’s a Title Here
I had so many good intentions about blogging more, but someone stole them to build a road somewhere…
Anywhoo. Still here. Still editing away at the paranormal book, which still refuses to have a title. I will defeat that boogeyman when I come to it. I have a blog post, almost ready to go, but I have not put in the time to get it all the way ready to go.
Sigh.
I’ll post more. I will. Stuff just keeps…being stuff.
Hoping to turn the book in for second edit Sunday. THEN I’ll be around m...
