How in Hades Do You Keep Track of Your Notes?

Okay, internets, help me out here.

I write. A lot. I have several universes in motion. I simply cannot focus on just one–it's not how my brain goes.

I tried a note box. It's worked some, but not as much as I need.

I own a file cabinet. I try to keep things filed.

I own tons of notebooks. I try to keep them separate. But then I'll have three pages of Dream'verse notes and in the middle of a paragraph will be a quick aside about an event in Flame'verse.

I have a lot of freaking notes.

Six Sentence Sunday: The Fight

This is from that fight in His Faithful Squire that I've been complaining about for days. It's…probably the least swear-filled six sentences of it.

"I want to lie in bed eating tiramisu all day too!" I snapped. "Doesn't mean it's a good idea!"

"Goddammit–"

"And don't you run out for tiramisu or I just might break my hands trying to kill you!"

"I don't even know what the fuck tiramisu is!"

What's Harder Than Writing Good Smut?

I've seen a lot of writers complain about sex scenes, but those don't bother me. Sex is (relatively) easy. Once it's decided where I'm going, there are only so many ways to get there, after all.

An argument, though…oh man.

I've been working on this for days. Now, granted, they've been awful days, marred by over-work at the day job and exhaustion and brain-deadery, but I have been trying. For days.

Manuscript Slog is Done!

I was debating, but now I'm not. It's done. I'll do a better job fixing the last few scenes when I've got the rest of the manuscript poked into shape. I often do the end that way. It will work.

So that means I'm done! Now to dance (slightly) on my way to falling nose-first into bed. Tomorrow begins a new phase of work.

Thoughts and prayers are with Japan tonight. Even this sometimes garrulous writer has no words for the sympathy and hope I hold for your entire nation.

Editing Death Match

Last year I tried NaNoEdMo. I'd heard of it, but my personal write-edit-write timeline never quite synced with NaNoEdMo's. Also, I have enough forums to waste time on (my thinking ran.) Editing cannot be both rushed and good (I argued.) I'm pretty good with the self-discipline (in areas of writing only.) I didn't need that.
