The Avengers and what I’ve been doing
I’m sitting in the movie theater watching people file in waiting to see The Avengers and I thought I wild jump on my blog and say howdy.
I’ve been skipping my FridayFlash story writing the past couple weeks. I’ve missed it but I have been busy. Ya know work.
Gotta pay the bills.
But I have also been busy writing other things as well. I finished my edits of my second novel and it’s in the hands of beta readers now. On pins and needles. It’s a combo sci if horror tale. Lots of crazy plot twists, e...

The Circus Act
The Circus Act
…Then the laughing psychopath,
the clown
jumped evenly, gracefully
ascending like a dying hot air balloon,
pretending now to be rain
now snow
now a raging blizzard
while he withdraws a poisoned dagger from his cloak
He smiled and danced toward the Ambassador,
moved into his space, his
dripped blade and his half-crazed smile
cocked on one side
could be seen,
if one was looking at his face instead of
the knife
-which teased-
Then
-suddenly-
he charged swiftly over the gravel,
as quickly as a...

Summer of Zombie Blog Tour Kickoff Party
Reblogged from Armand Rosamilia:
Summer of Zombie Blog Tour Kickoff Party
Two months with five other dudes who write about zombies… I’m shuddering as I look around the room at these freaks of writing, men who scribble about zombies ripping people apart, the end of the world, death and mayhem and destruction.
And then, I realize with a grin… my kinda people.
No blog tour of this magnitude would be complete without first introducing you to the people involved.

Summer of Zo...

Honoring The United States Armed Forces and their Families
Today is Memorial Day here in the United States and I am dedicating my blog today to the men and women, past and present who have served in the military and their families.
My grandfather served in Navy during World War II. He was on a ship near Japan most of that time serving as a signalman. He was one of those guys who knew Morse code like a second language and how to use flares to communicate over the seas.
I served 20 years in the Air Force and am happily retired. My what a difference 20 ye...

The Dinner Party
The night air was chilly and the stars were twinkling in the milky black sky.
They landed on the soft surface, surrounded by tall brown and gray weeds. Small creatures fanned out, poking at the ground, silently. Testing the soil for weaknesses. Though they didn’t speak a word, their eyes were glowing with anticipation. Their tiny bodies were covered in horns; their mouths were jagged and bulging with sharp teeth.
After a few moments, someone selected a spot.
They quickly nodded i...

Killing off characters
Its been a great week to be outdoors, so I have taken advantage of it as much as possible. My garden is planted and things are already starting to poke out of the ground. My tomatoes have little yellow flowers on them already. I am trying a few new things this year: garlic, habaneros, and watermelon. Oh yeah plus rue-barb and winter onions. So lots of new possibilities.
We steal lots of rue-barb every year, so its best that we grow our own. Many a night, we go creeping around the neighborhood...

When publishing goes wrong...Starring Undead Press
You all know I’ve been ranting about my first ever publication coming out for the last little while… “She makes me smile” was picked up by Undead Press (Anthony Giangregorio) to be published in their anthology called Cavalcade of Terror and the book was released May 1st 2012.
I waited… and waited… I was SO excited to see my story and name in print.

A Warning to Fellow Writers: Publishing gone horribly wrong.

#FridayFlash The Bachelor Party
Terry Thompson sat on the edge of a high wooden bridge that arched smoothly over the swirling waters of a frothy river, his long legs dangling like hung meat. To him, the bridge was just like life, on one side loomed a dead forest of rotting trees and the other side was bristling with tall, green pines. Just like life: reality versus dreams.
His reality was the dead, boney trees.
Whatever.
It was a dark, moonless night and the young man had been sitting for hours. Before that, he was at his bach...
