Making a Difference for Kids with Autism

Today I have the great honor of supporting something that is very near to my heart. A lot of my clients have autism and they are great people, each and every one of them. Much research is needed to understand autism, but a lot can be done right now educating parents who are raising children with autism. The short message: buy a great book and help out a little!

Without further ado, I give you guest blogger & talented writer Nickie Storey!!

Peaches and cream

Enjoyed some delicious peaches and cream today. Nope not ice cream or some other desert. Sweet corn. Right off the back of a truck.

Holy crap that stuff is tasty. Sweet as candy. Mouth watering ears of corn.

It was so good I ate my first ear raw right there on the spot. Yummy crunchy dandy.

What are you waiting for? Go get some.

Happy Independence Day USA!

Just a quick shout to the red, white, and blue! I hope all my fellow Americans are proudly displaying their flags today.

Enjoy the holiday and celebrate your freedom!

As a 20 year veteran of the Air Force, I know the cost of freedom and I want to thank all those who have served and their families. It’s worth it.

Summer heat

This summer heat wave is oppressive. That lovey being inside an oven feeling. It makes me want to stay indoors, just like in the winter during a blizzard.

Has anybody written about what zombies must smell like in 105 degree heat? Dry heat make difference here?

Blah

Good for writing though. And tinkering around. I redesigned the cover to The White Van. What do you think? It’s about a creepy shark loving sociopath. Fun stuff.

Stay cool my friends.

Novels or Short Stories?

Last night I had a pretty odd dream. There was a house in the middle of a huge forest and going around the roof of that house, like a crown, was an old fashioned carousel. Weird huh? Well the writer in me got excited, so I started working out a story. Not sure where I am going with it, but ya know, something will work itself out.

Carousel’s can be magical and exciting for people of all ages, but they can also be scary. Something Wicked This Way Comes, flashes to mind.

Will it be a novel or a sh...

The Eagles #in #blog

The Eagles

Seductive eagles soaring down,

To empty fields,

Through glowing blue skies,

Tyrant eagles scanning barren land,

Searching for slow rodent,

Even to laugh at the swift,

Nothing is found,

Soaring high again,

Against powerful winds,

Over a dizzying sea,

Climbing toward the orange flames,

Climbing,

Star spangled feathers pressed tight,

Against the throbbing flesh,

Down below a small black oval,

Teetering on the white caps,

Descend,

Yellow beaks rapidly leading,

A growing black vessel, with bright red mast...

Train whistles and eagles

This morning on the way to work I saw a bald eagle in the middle of the interstate, well on the shoulder, messing around with a carcass. A bald eagle. Ok I didn’t see it but my coworker did.

Most amazing sight.

I have heard of or seen vultures, pheasants, crows, and even wild turkeys poking around on the interstate, but this is the first time I have heard about a bald eagle.

It flew away, but I like to think it ashes the peace sign with its talons as it took to the air.

That didn’t prompt me to...

Why I Want Mark Tufo’s Fans

by Armand Rosamilia

Let’s get a few things out of the way… I don’t want Mark Tufo’s life (although I guarantee it’s better than mine… just a feeling), I don’t want his looks (I’m damn good-looking if I do say so myself – and I guess I just did), and I don’t want his pets (I hate animals, remember? I blogged about it here: http://armandrosamilia.com/2012/04/28/animals-in-your-story/), and there’s a bunch of other stuff about him that I could bring up. The fact that h...

Is Your EBook Lost In The Straw Jungle Of Amazon?

A Peek From The Haystack: (aka:Haystack Giveaway)

by Thea Atkinson

I used to call Amazon the jungle. I’d refer to my books as being lost somewhere in the depths and needing rescue. Now, I’ve decided the most apt analogy is a straw heap where my books are nine little pieces of dried out grass somewhere in the haystack. They look the same on the surface as any other piece, so why not just pick from the top of the pile?
