Message of Love from Beyond the Grave | Weekend Word Prompt 95 Devotion

SHARETell your frieends

Have you ever written from a writing prompt, like a picture or word? It's a great way to get some words down and to hone your craft. Here's my contribution for Sammi Cox' Weekend Writing Prompt #95, Devotion.

My love, I feel your love and devotion from here, across the veil. Your longing makes my heart ache. I am dead, but not Dead.

oOoOo

I wrote this as a message from Randy, Kassidy's husband in They All Died Smiling, who died in Afghanistan.  He doesn't technically appear in the story, but she misses him, and he is a character in the book and series all the same. He just doesn't make a physical appearance.

Get the book everywhere online, in stores, or at your local library.

They All Died Smiling avalable in ebook and print form wherever you buy books

As a psychic medium, one of the most common messages that "ghosts" have for their beloved living is precisely this.

Cheers to your B.L.I.S.S.-FULL Life!!

This features reluctant demon  hunter Kassidy Spence and the aunt who raised her. This story is mainstream (or mundane, as I call it), but both Beck and Kass have some other-worldly abilities.

I closed the trunk on the load of handmade home decor. “I should dig out the skates.”

“Skates? Why?”

“So you can tow me behind all these crafts. Or did ou leave room for me to ride inside the car?”

Aunt Beck grinned at me. “It’s a lot. But there’s still a little space for you.”

I scanned the interior. “Are the Etsy orders we packed up last night in the car?”

“Yikes, no, please grab the sack on the table.”

I hugged her. “I’m so proud of you.”

“Thanks, Kass.” A tear welled. “This is all because of you.”

Flash Fiction: We Are Heard | For Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge Feb 18, 2019

Here's anoter Flash Fiction tale inspired by a photo prompt, with my thanks.

We Are Heard
By Ronda Del Boccio

For Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge #1

Genre: Mystical

Word count: 185

I play my flute to bring healing and light into the world. Breeze carries my uplifting tune through the forest, then away. I give thanks for the melody that comes to my heart and plays through me. It is not my tune, but Nature’s.

Crow caws a cacophonous cry, adding his voice to the prayer. Other birds join, cardinals and finches melding their melodious notes. Trees rustle with us. And does the brook bubble just a little louder? Or perhaps, more intentionally. I feel her spirit enhance our prayer.

I feel the power of our intent, amplified as more join the Call. The energy spreads and spreads past the forest, towns, cities, lakes, rivers…I send the collective love and gratitude across the oceans, all over the world.

Animals come. I hear their footsteps. Squirrels scamper into the tree beside me. Deer encircle me. A goat from the nearby farm stares. He bleats along with the song.

We raise the energy higher, further, wider, and with a final joyous trill, I complete the melody. Its echoes ring, fading slowly.

“Thank you, Great Divine. We are heard.”

Genre: Mainstream but for a paranormal/urban antasy series

I set the groceries on the counter. Aunt Beck at the craft-covered table. Pens, paper, tape runner, glue, and more covered every inch. “Good thing we’re not eating in ere.”

“Kass, run this through the cutter,” she said, not looking up.

“Uh, wanna let me put away the food first?”

“Not really.” Her smile crinkled her eyes. “Need to finish these for the table decorations.”

I picked up a page of roses. “Let me save you hours.”

“How?”

“I’ll copy this on the printer so you don’t have to hand-color.”

She smacked her forehead. “Why didn’t I think of that?”

Magic Eyes | Flash Fiction for Friday Fictioneers 15 February 2019

This week's flash fiction is actually not fiction, though many may read it so. When I saw the picture of the building that feels like an asylum, a nugget of truth is what came to mind.

But if you want, you can attribute it to Aunt Beck, mentioned in They All Died Smiling,, who is also a medium.

Genre: Paranormal Experience / Memoir

Word count: 100

I’ve seen and talked with them all my life. Some are nice, others, mean, just like the living.

When one gets lost, I knew how to find their loved ones on the other side. Easy for me. It makes me sad when the spirits get confused.

They see me as a bright light in cold, dark death. I know. I asked one once.

But I learned early on not to talk about it, since the unaware say I’m imagining it.

Or crazy.

I see spirits better than I see the living.

I’m not crazy. My magic eyes work just fine.

Planning/Journaling Tips: Setting Your Monthly Intention and Focus

As part of my self-mastery journey, I keep a gratitude joural. Mine is in a Mini Happy Planner.

This year, I am setting a focus and intention/power statement for each month. I'm sharing t his in case you would like to try something similar.

Picture of my planner showing Monthly Focus Feb 2019

Focus

While I have goals, my gratitude journal isn't for that, so my focus is about lifespirt stuff.

This month, my focus reads:

Live on purpose
Love generously
Live well
Express gratitude
Appreciate

My intention or power statement reads:

I am a magical, miraculous creator. I create my ideal life from what lights me up inside, for that is my gift to the world.

When I am writing my gratitude entries each day, I read both..

This week, I am committing to read both aloud every morning. The intention and focus put me in an empowered, excited frame of being. I will let that energy carry me through my goals.

Do you read an affirmation or intention regularly? Let's talk about this in the comments.

Cheers to your B.L.I.S.S.-FULL Life!!

At the Bottom | Weekend Writing Prompt 93 – Horizon

If you feel like playing with words, how about joining this fun writing challenge? Each weekend, Sammi Cox posts a new one, with an open format, a specific word count, and a 1-word writing prompt. This one is horizon at 74 words.

At the Bottom
By Ronda Del Boccio

For Sammi Cox’ Weekend Writing Prompt #93 Horizon

Word count: 74

When people gaze at a breathtaking sunset stretching out before them in a seemingly endless arc, they never consider how that line, by its very nature, is a limitation.

It is certainly possible to expand your horizons or to go beyond them, but it requires an adventurous spirit, imagination, and intention.

If you shrink your world, your chosen horizon smothers you.

Jenny found hers at the bottom of her last bottle of Aristocrat Vodka.
