Christmas in Summer!

Okay, so it's not really Christmas, but I'm writing a Christmas story, so I have to FEEL Christmas. I still actually have Christmas cinnamon scent that I LOVE to smell that's sitting nearby my computer desk. I try to pretend that the AC and fan air above is the cold air of winter. That the heat is the warmth from the fireplace. That the guy is Bjornolf lighting the fire before he lights Anna's fire.

I'm having a ball with the story, bringing in some past characters--remember Zooman Thompson? Leidolf and Cassie make an appearance. Carver and his twin girls all from Seduced by the Wolf. They're in Portland, Oregon, but a red wolf pack, not a gray like Hunter's SEALs or his own pack.

Here is Anna, wondering just what she's gotten herself into on this assignment.

Do you ever feel that way?

Change is...

Inevitable.
We all change. Things around us change. Technology. People. The world we live in. So why is it so hard sometimes to accept change???

As writers, we can change something simple to add conflict--from day to night, from a summer's day to a violent thunderstorm, from the workplace to home, from being alone to being with others.

Change, no matter what it is, can add conflict. My kids tell me that I need to change out my phone so that I can check my emails on it. I don't think my fingers would ever be able to maneuver through all the stuff on those phones. I'd be hitting the wrong stuff, never getting anything I wanted. I'd get addicted to it like so many are.

I'm still reading paperbacks, but that's not because I don't want the newer technology, but because I look at a monitor way too much and like the break from it when I'm not at work or writing, or...blogging. It's a way for me to read without interruption.

Sometimes I even write scenes, pages and pages by hand. Not often. But sometimes the Internet is way too much of a distraction and I can't concentrate enough on the story. I get stuck, I read my emails. And before I know it, half the day is gone. So writing by hand away from the computer can help me sometimes to focus just on the story.

Even with this small jaguar, she will change as she grows, become her own person, grow into her spots...one day.

My wolf shifters haven't changed yet in A SEAL Wolf Christmas. At least the hero and heroine hadn't. So it was time to change. Two of the SEAL team had earlier in the story for a reason. But I have to have a good reason for them to shift at any point in any story, because shifting can cause problems. Changing from one form to the other can create some great conflict and cause much more trouble.

Change can be important. Winter comes to kill the bugs. Rains come to replenish the earth. Sun comes to grow corn and make delicious tomatoes.

What brought this subject on? Changes at work. We get comfortable...have our comfort zone, and then all of a sudden, someone steals our blanky.

So that's why I had to turn my wolves into wolves. To create change. To take care of a problem. To create a whole bag of new problems. But I'm having fun bringing some characters back too. So get ready to see a little of Leidolf and his pack...because they're going to make a cameo appearance soon!

And remember Zooman Thompson? I'm sure he'll be popping in to stir up trouble too.

And if you haven't had a chance to vote on the new cover for Jaguar Fever there's still time--they can make changes if that's what readers want! :)

Shifter Hunk in the Water & JAGUAR FEVER!!!!

Wolves and jaguars LOVE the water. So do I. Wouldn't you love to take a swim with him???

Thanks so much to Stephanie Shaw for sharing this with me! She found A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing at the Navy Exchange in Norfolk, VA, the world's largest exchange, where they have tons of cute Navy guys.

Now how cool is that??? Thanks, Stephanie! This was too much fun!

And I'm excited to say that today was my deadline for turning in A Highland Wolf Wedding, but I turned it in weeks ago and am at 30,000 already on A SEAL Wolf Christmas (remember, title will probably change...it's just a working title I gave it so I have something to call it!) But it's so neat to see that I had scheduled myself for having the other book finished and then this weekend I'd have to write the first of the new story, when instead it's a third of the way done. Woohoo!!!

Before I get too excited though, I do have to write another 60,000 and have to also write another jaguar story this year, so more than I had planned. Which means I'm really not ahead of the game but behind. LOL!

But I'm still walking on Cloud 9! Christmas is in the air and we're out of the jungle and into the Oregon woods...

Have a super great wonderfully delightful Friday!!! And if you're hot and want to cool down, just go swimming with the cool cat above. Oh, well, maybe you wouldn't cool down that way either. What do you think?

Wait, other news! Thanks to Heather for making me aware this is up...

Here’s the back cover for Jaguar Fever, USA Today bestselling author Terry Spear’s new book coming in the Spring of 2013…

Wade Patterson has learned that Maya is a shifter—and available. Sometimes it's Hard to....

Decide...is he a wolf or a jaguar shifter? He kind of looks like a wolf to me, but, I dunno! He's rugged, cute, unkempt, outdoorsy looking, sexy...he could be either, if he really put his mind to it, don't you think?

Cats are curious creatures like wolves are. This very well could have been a wolf checking out the butterfly.

Yeah, didn't I say so??? :)

I feel like this cat. Lazy, sleepy, just wanting to lie next to a log and contemplate the world.

And it's my long night. But the good news is that it's TGIF Eve--thanks to Jessica who told me this...and I only work 5 hours tomorrow to make up for working 11 on Monday! Woohoo! So really something to celebrate!

Have a super TGIF Eve, and when you see a butterfly, stop and look and remember that jaguars and wolves checked them out too....

But is he a wolf or a jaguar shifter? In the scheme of things if he came to visit you, would you really care? Any wild thing would do, right???

Is it Hot and Steamy Enough for You Yet???

In the jungle before the shift!
One of three of them has shifted.

But which one?

Savage Hunger coming to a jungle store near you. :)

Can you tell it's Wednesday, Hump Day, and I've worked too hard all week? Very stressful at work and so...as someone asked based on Fitzgerald's quote, which character am I?

The CAT. :)

Although I have to admit right now I'm in the jungle again, only with wolves this time in A SEAL Wolf Christmas.

What? You say?

Yeah, that's what I say. What are you all doing in the jungle so close to Christmas, for heaven's sakes?

I'm still trying to find out the truth, by the way. It's a mystery....

:) Have a super wonderful Wednesday!!!

Cowboys are SEXY!

Don't you love a man who can handle two saddles at once???

I was reading a western romance that I wanted to toss away several times and so I wanted your perspective.

The hero is a ranger, yum. Now, here he is in a firefight with the bad guys that he's supposed to bring in dead or alive. The bad guys have killed numbers of people already. They're bad news. Really bad news. They have to be stopped before they murder scores of people more.

So what does the ranger do? He has a fit of conscience. He can't kill them outright. But he's protecting the gold and trying to keep themselves from being shot to death. The bad guys have already killed all the men on the train. But the ranger can't shoot the bad guys. That would make him feel like one of them. Huh???

Wait, one of the bad guys decides to kill his horse. He can't have that. So he tosses the gold to them.

Now, then the bad guys return to their town (though why they would do such a stupid thing is beyond me, got gold, run, but instead of killing the ranger and his one compadre, they leave them, then go to the town to shoot it up instead to also kill the ranger and his friend there), and not only have this big shoot out, which at the end the only one who shot anyone that we know is the heroine's son, so the big tough ranger guy never shot anyone, and...the bad guys burn the WHOLE town down, before they're all killed, and the presumption is that the marshal they sent for and his posse killed the bad guys, and maybe the ranger got a good shot off, we'll never really know.

Does the ranger feel badly that he didn't stop these murdering thieves before they wiped out a whole town, and could have killed all the townspeople if it hadn't been that a river saved them...believe me, raging fires can cross rivers, and everyone can starve to death now because they've lost everything?

Do you ever want to rewrite a story? LOL

But if I rewrote it, this guy would be the ranger!!! His conscience would tell him to kill the bad guys before they could kill anyone else, as he was hired to do.

Now I feel better. LOL

Happy Tuesday, everyone! And think just what you could do with a man who could hoist two saddles at once! A Ghost of a Chance at Love.

Men and Big Bows

There's something about men and arrows, and staffs, and swords that make them so much more appealing, don't you think? I think this is William, the man who was in the Huntsman. Note: I left off Snow White. She's a no account. But wow, the Huntsman, the dwarves, William, the queen, they were TERRIFIC.

I especially love a man who can use a bow and arrow. Something about Robin Hood, William Tell, and others of mythical fame who could wield a bow and arrow so well, that just appeals.

Okay, I love this quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

This is SO true!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and remember, since it's Monday and counting...only 4 more days until the weekend again! :)

A Glimpse of the Making the Cover for A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing!

Here's another great picture! A SEAL in dog tags checking out the chalkboard and the equations needed to determine the clues in the case in A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing. Well, actually, he's looking at the ceiling, his thoughts shifting through tons of different scenarios before he begins to make notes on the board again.  Was this scene in the book? No. Just the man, Finn, and the gorgeous body. :)

Here's another video of Todd, flexing his Highland muscles and a little of how A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing's cover was worked up!

 Have a super great Sunday!

I'm off to write...I meant to have a lot more written and my newsletter off, but I did other stuff on my day off, and I still am ahead of schedule. But that can change in a heartbeat!

Never put off, you know!

Have fun!!!
