A Howl for a Highlander is Off! Again! Time for some Highland Hunks!

Thanks to Caryn Block, for sharing this with me! The Highlanders make their own heat, no real need for fire, eh?

And it gets even hotter on Grand Cayman Island in A Howl for a Highlander! Duncan MacNeill IS hot! Coming in February!

But it all began with the eldest brother, Ian MacNeill in Heart of the Highland Wolf and he definitely heated things up as well.

Crathes Castle, Scotland, and my traveling companions! It was October, flowers in full bloom and fall colors too. What more could you ask for???

Well, some kilted hunks, but we can't be ALL that greedy. Okay, so we can. :)

Have a lovely Saturday! I'm off to work on SEAL....and water my plants.

Oh, oh, have to share!!! My cypress tree has knobby knees!

I thought they only got that way in the swamps in Louisiana because they'd drown otherwise. But I was watering and pulling grass, and there they were! The cutest knobbiest little knees.

Okay, yes, I'm losing it. I LOVE plants. In A Howl for a Highlander, the heroine is a botanist. When I was in college, one of my favorite science courses was plant biology. If I could, I'd turn the world's deserts into woodland landscapes. Must be the wolf in me. :) Or....jaguar!

In the current SEAL book, we get to hear a growly Cearnach in the background while he is giving his mate a hard time as she discusses plants with Hunter Greymere from the Oregon Coast wolf pack. :)

Have a super great Saturday!  Really, really off to write. I've got 11,000 words to go and somehow have to wrap this baby up. :)  Then it's off to Jaguar Fever!

Exercising is Good for a Body...

Yes. Absolutely. If you don't think so, then exercise your eyeballs on these guys. Yep. Good stuff.

I think they're doing a great job of exercising, don't you?

Note water??? I want to be there. Yeah, for the water. :)

Late night working last evening, got home to this on my message machine: "Mom, pick up your phone! Your TV isn't playing too loud, is it? I want to talk to you!"

Call daughter: "It's my late night, remember?"

"Oh, yeah. What time do you get home?"

When I reminded her of the time, she said that was too late. I agree. Only the vampires are out at that hour.

I mentioned this to my coworkers. I really had them confused. They're not paranormal readers. Don't have a clue. *sigh*

I will have to educate them. I want us all on the same page!

I'm going to try and get the newsletter out this weekend, but I've got to finish writing SEAL and have to get the edits done on Howling, so may not have time....weekend after this one for sure. :) If I could get two books done this weekend, wouldn't that be great? And a miracle. LOL

Now, tell me the truth, would YOU like to exercise with these guys, or just be a lounge potato sitting under your umbrella, sipping your Tropical Zinger and watching and giving them moral support with a smile and a thumbs up???

Maybe even a prod or two to see if their muscles are as hard as they look. To help them out, in case they missed working a spot. And if that doesn't work, just tell them it's for research. It DOESN'T matter if you're not a writer. You can always tell them you're sampling the goods because you're MY research assistant. I'll vouch for you. What are friends for? Eh?

Oh, and by the way, you might even see Duncan in a Speedo. Never know! :)

Have a super great Friday!

Hot Summer Fun!

First, got to have the hunk. Then comes Maui....and this fantastic resort.

Or Fiji....

I'm off to work on Howling edits. Just a couple of things, and then I've got to send it back in and then it'll bounce back to me for a final read through. My favorite! It's supposed to be a clean copy at that point, so it's just fun reading it, making sure there aren't any last minute mistakes and then it's ready for you all! A Howl for a Highlander comes out in Feb.

Then it's back to SEAL Wolf Christmas before I get 1st edits on Highland Wolf Christmas.
But I was thinking, when I saw the earlier pictures...I could handle some of the water scenes above...just sit back and relax, swim, walk the beach, play in the water, read a book, wade through the water, watch the sunset, boat on the water...

Did I ever mention how much I love the water?

I'm a woods and mountain and lover of all things wet...I mean, lakes, snow-fed creeks, oceans...

Water is a rejuvenating life force. :) Whether it's in a hot tub or shower or waterfall or ocean scene...

Have a favorite watering hole?

Or is there something you'd like better than a watery vista? Besides the hunks!

Guys in White Hats...

I've written a couple of westerns, and I love westerns. Maybe this is why? Note, he is wearing a white hat. That does not always mean he is the good guy. He looks awfully bad to me.

What do you think?

I'm anticipating editorial recommendations on Howling shortly. Just got a heads up. Hoped I could finish SEAL before that happened because when I have my head in one story, it's easy to jump to another, but REALLY hard to jump back to one that is a work in progress.

I'm there...struggling with the characters...I mean with their plight, not with them. They're doing the best they can under the circumstances. They can't help that I keep coming up with stumbling blocks for them! I love them. Really I do.

I have to admit when I first began writing, I hated that my characters would have all this conflict. I definitely put them out of their misery way too soon. No more Mrs. Nice Guy. No sirree. Readers deserve to see characters strive to make the most of their upside down lives. Absolutely.

Poor characters. You see it's not all my fault that they have to suffer so much.

Hehehehe....

Have a great Tuesday!

Do I sound a little crazy yet???

Mondays Should Start Like This...

Yes! Thumbs up! Relax. Rugged. Bronzed. And ready.

Or like this. Lazy, Relaxed. Wild and fuzzy.

I have to make a confession. I was very bad on Sunday. I hadn't gotten my word count (I was shooting for 70K, but in all honesty, my goal was 10K originally, before I turned in A Highland Wolf Wedding early, 40K, when I revised the goal based on the actual turn in, 50K, when I got ahead of myself, and 60K, when I beat even that...I'm pulling those figures off my calender where I've marked through each amount!) and watched a movie. I was at 68K. :) But worse, I did not get the newsletter out either, OR my blog!

The movie? Man on a Ledge. It was great! It had some cute dialogue, fast paced thriller, except for the man on the ledge, which got a little silly as he tried to make the most of making the most of --I repeated myself on purpose there--looking as though he was going to jump. To cover up what he was really covering up. So that part got a little old.

But the rest and how it ended was beautiful. I like happy endings. And it had happy endings all around. :)

So I apologize for not getting everything done like I was supposed to. On the newsletter, I'm trying to figure out which story to offer. On the blog...I started it and never finished it. Got distracted with research for the story.

You would not believe all the strange things I research while writing a story. Pinging. Chloroform. Laundry rooms. A 1.5 million dollar house. Oregon winter landscapes. Backhoes. Breaking noses. You know. The usual. :)

I hope to get back on track next weekend. But I'm getting close to the end of writing this story. So, I might have to concentrate on the book again. You just never know.

Have a super great Monday!!!

What do you think of Monday's hunk? Thumbs up?

Purple is...

On him? Yummy! I love purple anyway, but now this is purple intensified!
Purple mist on a purple day--nice and serene, don't you think? Wouldn't you love to take him on a boat ride?

Purple in an ancient way...

Ah, purple sailing on a purple sea under a purple sky. What could be better? Sailing with the hunk in the purple shirt, of course.

Or taking a walk with him in the purple woods.

And here is a purple saying that says it so well...

When our purple shirt wearing hunk shifts into a wolf, that's mighty fine too.

What comes with purple smoke?

A genie, of course!

And her bottle.

Have a wonderfully luscious purple day!

Reflection

Sometimes we need to take a moment in our busy lives and just reflect on the past, the present and the future.

Sometimes we're too busy to reflect on anything, and that can be just fine as well.

My internet has been down and up and down since last night, so trying to get this posted before it's off again!

Have a lovely reflective Wednesday! Happy Hump Day!

Remember, if you use lots of bubbles, you won't have a reflection. And for him, I wouldn't mind seeing two of him. :)

Jungle Cat

What do you think? Wet and wild? Hungry and appealing? Dark and mysterious? Jaguar.

Yeah, it's him, don't you think? Same look?

In the fall I'm going to visit a big cat reserve in Texas with one of my coworkers. We'll wait until fall though when it's cooler and the cats are more active. I'll take lots of pictures and share!

Back to the wolves though. Note to self, no mention of going to the dogs. These poor wolves look a little scrawny.

Thanks to Donna for searching for an angel ornament with wolf for me on the Internet to add to my SEAL's Christmas tree. Sometimes I just can't find the inspiration I'm looking for on my own!

Have a great Tuesday. My new saying--it's Happy Hump Day Eve!
