Wildlife Report

Spent part of yesterday in the koi pond, ripping out bad overgrowths of asparagus fern and black taro and moving rocks back into place after the dogs' depredations. Not an easy task. The pond looks a little naked now.

I keep a pair of rubber garden clogs on the back patio and wear them when I'm in the yard. As I slip my feet into them, I always think "Damn I should of checked" in case a lizard or black widow has set up shop in there. Instead, it was a garden snail. Euuwww.

The other day I foun...

GLIMPSES Update and SNIPPET

I know many of you are champing at the bit (and no, there's none of that in GLIMPSES, sorry) to preorder. At least I hope there are many of you. We've had a few hiccups in formatting, so it's taken a bit longer than we'd hoped. So far, as many of you have noted, there is no pre ordering available, but we're working on that and believe me, I will announce it as soon as it is.

My editor is proofing the final product sometime between now and Monday and hopefully all will be well for the actual r...

New Reading: Josh Lanyon

More lovely m/m mysteries. This time from Josh Lanyon, who's written a ton of great books, most of them available on Kindle. I'm particularly fond of his Adrien English series, in which a bookstore owner gets dragged into murder after murder, as well as a rocky relationship with a very hunky, very closeted cop. The first book in the series is FATAL SHADOWS, but I recommend you buy the second at the same time, otherwise you might find yourself downloading the Kindle version at 3 am. I'm just s...

Here's the Finished Finished Cover

8 days until Glimpses official release! I think I'm as excited as anyone could be. So much pretty! Hopefully pre-orders, at least at Amazon, will be available in a few days. Very happy with the blurbs, too.

Raymond Chandler

I'm reading my first Raymond Chandler book, "The Lady in the Lake." I already know why these books stand the test of time.

The man was a hefty dark handsome lad with fine shoulders and legs, sleek dark hair and white teeth. Six feet of a standard type of homewrecker. Arms to hold you close and all his brains in his face.

The narrative voice in my head is pure Bogart.

New Reading: Charlie Cochrane

I recently discovered the most delightful mystery series with m/m protagonists, Charlie Cochrane's Cambridge Fellows Mysteries. They are set in Edwardian England, at Cambridge University. Jonty Stewart and Orlando Coppersmith are Cambridge dons who, not surprisingly, fall in love at about the same time they are caught up in a murder mystery in their school, and they are too adorable for words. The mysteries are fun, but the two characters, who disdain comparison to Holmes and Watson, are the ...
