One Good Thing

Decisions. I'm a pretty indecisive person. I get it from my mom. In fact, my entire family is like that. It's very frustrating. I think. Maybe. I dunno.

Anyway, I might be kind of indecisive. Possibly. I'll think on it and let you know for certain later. Today, however, I made a pretty big decision about something personal and I feel okay about it. I've been juggling the pros and cons for the past few weeks and neither side was coming up as particularly better than the other, so today I finally just said, "DECIDE NOW!" And I did. There's a wonderful cleansed feeling after you make such a big decision. It's like the feeling after a good cry. Who knows how this decision will impact me. That's scary to think about. But at least whatever happens, it's been set in motion. Being static about things would be much worse. Sure, it's safe, but it's not living.

That's Me Trying

Interesting amateur video for a great song by William Shatner and Ben Folds, with a wee bit of help from Aimee Mann:

One Good Thing

The best thing about the day was a short but sweet email I received from a reader who said he had picked up Another Enchanted April and couldn't put it down. Loved hearing that!

Jezza Smiles On Me

Everyone! You simply must head over to Jezza Smilez's site for an interview he did with me there. It's the most fun I've had on an interview in a while, and definitely the most revealing. No nudie pics, but I do discuss the Top/Bottom issue.

One Good Thing

Bob the Book , by David Pratt. Been reading it and can't put it down. It is about a book named Bob and his adventures through the world. I can't even tell you how remarkably well-old this is. It reminds me of a children's book, but written for an adult audience, and a gay audience at that. (If ever made into a movie, I would think it would look best in stop-motion, a la Tim Burton's animated films.) Though very charming, this is not all hunky-dory stuff. There are parts of this book - especially those involving book burnings - that are as horrific and as wrenching of scenes as I've ever read, with a hateful preacher that may just remind you of a certain nameless lunatic who pickets funerals. The story can be seen as a metaphor for the gay man's search for love in a world that either "tolerates" us or shows outright hostility towards us. I really can't say enough about this book. This is an out and out rave. I think every gay man should read this. A proper book review would explain just why, but I am anything but a proper book reviewer. Read this book!

The WANT List

Item: A Nick Drake t-shirt.

Why can't I find a Nick Drake t-shirt here in the States? So massively uncool of stores to not carry them.
