Healing Time Reviews 'Woke Up'

A truly lovely review of Woke Up in a Strange Place (in Spanish, then English) HERE.

One Good Thing

Ideas that are so crazy they just might work. I've been trying to think of some new ways to promote my writing. It's hard out there, especially if you're not a very social beast in the first place. I had the idea to stir up some interest in the mainstream world. To create cross-over appeal, if you will. I'd like to get five or so straight guys to read and then review my latest book, Woke Up in a Strange Place , and then post the reviews on Amazon. I'd also run the reviews on my blog, good or bad. No such thing as bad publicity. A lot of straight guys won't touch a book if it has even a hint of "the gay" in it. I'd like to hear honestly what they think of my writing. Of course, I'd supply an ebook copy to them, but I would need guys who would follow through with their reviews. What do you all think?

One Good Thing

I woke up early this morning. Around 4am. My foot was hurting because of the brace I sometimes need to wear in the day. I laid there for a bit, trying to get back to sleep, but I knew that was useless. Finally, I got up and signed onto the interwebs. I've been feeling a bit down the last few days (I think too much is my problem), and the dark hours of the morning do little to encourage me. Yet signing onto Facebook, I saw a friend who hadn't been able to get on-line for the past week and a half due to military duties in Turkey. In fact, he had JUST signed on. If I hadn't been awakened by my foot I would have missed him (tere's a 7 hour time difference). My mood immediately changed. My heart skipped. My cheeks flushed. Any twitterpated cliche you can think of happened. I was so happy to see his name there that I gave up the idea of even trying to head back to bed.

One Good Thing

It's gotten so warm and purty today, I opened my windows. I love a spring breeze. My bed is beside a window and I laid there and let the breeze calm me worried brain. The birds are especially boisterous and rowdy today. They're shouting their songs. MAYBE A LITTLE TOO LOUD. I heard a commotion in the grass and leaves outside my window. I thought it was some birds at first. Then I took a gander and, lo and behold, there was Kitteh Kitteh, rolling around like she was blitzed on catnip. Have I mentioned that Kitteh Kitteh is weird? She's never acted like this before. All sense of decorum is gone. She was a lady once!

One Good Thing

I made a hot guy stutter. I was out earlier today, doing some shopping. Checking up on some shoes I ordered. The salesman was this hot very masculine fellow. Five o'clock shadow that was clearly not meant to be a fashion choice, deep voice. You know. The total college jock type. Pretty blue eyes too. He was all "I'm a man and you're a man and such is where our connection ends." Straight guys nod at one another if they don't know each other well. They nod and say boring things. I wasn't having it. I flashed my smile and his face lit up. After that, we were best buds. When it came time for me to check out, he handed me the bag and I gave him a big smile and lingered as I looked into his eyes. And he didn't look away. He smiled and sweetly stuttered something about me coming back. Awe. I will, cutie. I will.

Slick

I mentioned Slick It Up earlier today in The WANT List, but I just had to post this commercial. So funny...and hot!
