One Good Thing

I woke up early this morning. Around 4am. My foot was hurting because of the brace I sometimes need to wear in the day. I laid there for a bit, trying to get back to sleep, but I knew that was useless. Finally, I got up and signed onto the interwebs. I've been feeling a bit down the last few days (I think too much is my problem), and the dark hours of the morning do little to encourage me. Yet signing onto Facebook, I saw a friend who hadn't been able to get on-line for the past week and a half due to military duties in Turkey. In fact, he had JUST signed on. If I hadn't been awakened by my foot I would have missed him (tere's a 7 hour time difference). My mood immediately changed. My heart skipped. My cheeks flushed. Any twitterpated cliche you can think of happened. I was so happy to see his name there that I gave up the idea of even trying to head back to bed.
