Help! I’m Stuck!

“Between letting go (of the old) and successfully launching the new there is a time of confusion and emptiness. People often feel lost during this time, and too often they interpret that lostness as yet another sign that something is wrong. It is simply a sign that they have entered the fertile chaos of the neutral zone” — William Bridges
“…the fertile chaos of the neutral zone.” I love that phrase. And, who among us is not in some kind of transition right now?
I’ve been working as a professional intuitive for over thirty years. Clients generally make an appointment with me when they’re in the midst of change. I don’t know too many people who love to go through a life transition!
About 90% of the calls I receive for intuitive consultations are from people who are contemplating a career change, beginning or ending a relationship, or are coping with a tangible or intangible loss of some kind in their life. I frequently hear people telling me that they’re “stuck” or “in a rut” and yet most are in that limbo state called transition.
It often feels like being lost in the woods. There seem to be no obvious markers that say, “this way to safety.” If you look up the word “transition” in the dictionary, you’ll see definitions like “passing from one to another,” “transformation,” a “passage,” “major change,” “shift” and “development.” Even though you may feel stuck, these are words that indicate movement and change. Sometimes it seems there is no apparent progress towards your hopes and dreams. You feel scared that you’re falling apart and might be in this “no place” forever. You may feel stuck and yet often it’s that uncomfortable shift from one place in your life to the next where the most growth occurs.
When I’m in this transition zone and fear that nothing is happening, I find comfort in the example of tulips. You plant them in the fall and they come up in the spring. In the intervening months, there appears to be nothing going on. You wouldn’t think of digging them up in the middle of winter and yelling at them that they’re “stuck” and admonishing them to “grow faster!” They are doing exactly what they need to do. And when all the circumstances needed for their flowering are in the right place, they appear and bloom. The same is true for your transitions. The wisdom that guides the flowers guides your life as well.
Here are the four things I share with clients to help them navigate change…
It’s Okay to Be in a TransitionSeveral years ago, when I was going through a particularly tough time, a friend shared her helpful theory. She said, “when everything is falling apart something new is about to breakthrough.” I’ve always remembered that and taken it to heart. It’s easy to get stuck in a quagmire of thinking that makes you fear that you’ll be trapped in this awful situation forever. Things change. Life changes. It usually gets better if we can allow our intuition to guide us. In the meantime, it helps to believe that we’ll get through this and emerge on the other side feeling better, more hopeful and with a deeper wisdom.
What Would Be Fun?When you’re in a big life transition life often feels dreary and heavy. Your thinking may simply revolve around “what should I do to get out of this rut?” and you come up with a rehash of old options as a response. All the answers probably seem too difficult to achieve or require more effort and energy than you presently have available. Your first task is to get the energy moving in your life again. You want to get out of the emotional state that’s keeping you where you are. One of the best ways to achieve this is doing things that are enjoyable. It’s possible even in a pandemic! Some of this may need to be virtual for the time being. What’s fun for you? Most people find their energy shifts by doing simple things; reading a good book, doing something creative, listening to music, going to on a picnic, sitting by the beach, planning a get together with friends, taking a class or meeting new people. Begin now to plan something fun on a more regular basis.
What Are You Yearning For?When you’re in a transition you may also be unclear about your future goals. It feels a lot easier to take actionable next steps when your intention is well-defined. What if it’s not? How do you move forward? Here’s a clue — what are you yearning for? Close your eyes. Put your hand over your heart. Take a deep breath and ask yourself that question. The answer may surprise you and provide some helpful next steps. People often report emotion-based words such as “ease,” “nature,” “adventure,” or “rest.” What words (or images) come to you? Once you have that information, open your eyes. What action steps could you take based on your answers? This is your intuition giving you a homework assignment. It may not be the ultimate guide to getting you unstuck but it’s the beginning of a roadmap. It’s the clues leading you out of where you are to where you want to be.

Are Your Spirit Guides Unemployed?
I laughed out loud recently when I was giving an intuitive reading for a client. I’ll call her Sue. She was struggling with a particularly difficult relationship with her brother. I was asking my guides, and Sue’s, for some intuitive insight about what would be helpful.
I receive much of my information through images and feelings when giving a reading. Imagine my surprise when I saw a group of her guides and angels standing around her with big signs that read:
UNEMPLOYED!
It struck me immediately how much they wanted to help her with her family difficulties. They explained that Sue (and all of us) have free will. They could only help her if she asked directly for their assistance.
They also gave me some tips to share about working with them.
1) Ask for what you want. They told me that many people use their prayers and requests for guidance as a vehicle for complaints. What’s most helpful, they explained, is to say things like,
“Please help me with this situation.”
“I want to invite peace (resolution, calm, etc.) into this area of my life.”
“What could I do to resolve this issue?”
2) Don’t try to figure out HOW what you want will occur. The helpers in the unseen world have countless ways to assist you. They may guide you to a book to read or a mentor to help you. They might provide an intuitive insight that will give you just the right idea to help you out of your conflict. They could also help you attract new sources of revenue. They say that when you ask them to focus on only one solution, you limit all of the miracles they could bring your way.
3) Keep your mind and heart open. In the case of my client, Sue, they gently pointed out that she was feeling very negative about the prospects of change in her particular difficulty. I noticed that much of what she said were things like, “This is a hopeless situation.” “He (her brother) will never change!” Her guide asked me to suggest some other ways of thinking and feeling such as,
“I’m open to new ideas to restore peace into my family.”
“I believe in miracles and I’m inviting one into this situation.”
“I know that my guides and angels are helping me with insight into the resolution of this issue.”
4) Allow space for the miracles to occur. The unseen helpers explained that we (humans) often expect the concerns we pray about to change overnight. When they don’t, we can become bitter and think that our prayers are not being heard or resolved. They asked for us to trust that things were transforming for the better even when we couldn’t see those changes in our present reality.
5) Ask for help through prayer. They said, “When you pray, you are sending your concerns to a loving Source who wants to restore you and your life back to joy. Your task is to listen within for the still, quiet voice of guidance, to be at peace and to take action on any wisdom you receive.”
I heard from Sue again several weeks after our reading. She had taken heed of all of the things her guide said. “I really worked at shifting my attitude and focus towards my brother. We hadn’t talked in quite some time. I recently got a conciliatory email from him. I consider that a sign. We have a lot of issues to resolve. But I think that this is a good beginning and an indication that my guides are working behind the scenes on our behalf.”

You Are Being Guided
QUESTION:
Hi Lynn … I’ve spent my whole life as a Type A, driven person. I was on a partner track at a well-known law firm in my city. A year ago, I had what I thought was a heart attack. I thought I was going to die. It turned out to be a panic attack. At first, I was relieved. Now I’m having frequent bouts of anxiety and panic attacks. I’m exhausted and can barely work. I’m seeing a doctor. However, I’m recognizing this as a call from my soul that I need to slow down and begin to heal my life. How do I begin? — Mary M.
ANSWER:
I’ve often wished that loud and clear instructions would accompany these crises in our lives. Perhaps you would hear something like the message I received from your guides when I tune into you.
“You’re in a limbo period. It will last for a while longer. You’ll have some ups and downs, but life on the other side of this period will be so much happier, spacious and joy-filled than you could ever imagine. You’re receiving help from the unseen world. We’re here helping you and guiding you. Your task is to let go of this hard-charging and driven side to your personality. You’re here to be of service and to open your heart. Self-forgiveness and compassion towards others is the path to this new life.”
What happened to you, happens to many of us at some point in our lives. It may not have been characterized by panic attacks and exhaustion. It often occurs subtly, a malaise sets in. You’re in, what I call, “The Void.” You no longer feel like your “old self.” You’re bored, restless, anxious or depressed. It occurs when your spirit is calling you to let go of some aspect of yourself that no longer serves you. And, more importantly, it’s calling you to embrace something new and wonderful that will serve your Soul and its purpose.
When you’re in the void your life changes. It may happen outwardly with a job change, a pandemic, a divorce, an illness or a geographic move. Just as frequently it begins inside of you. You no longer love the job you’re in. You no longer seem to have anything in common with lifelong friends. You may no longer feel stimulated by your current life and be craving a change.
If you’re like most people, you’ll try even harder to make your current life better. Perhaps you’ll take a vacation, sell your house, move, or win a promotion. You’ll do anything to make your old life fit better. However, if you’re in a true “void,” nothing superficial will suffice. Your spirit wants to move you in a new direction. The path of least resistance is the best choice. Something new is coming and you need to make room for it. It feels scary because letting go in a profound way leaves you with nothing solid to hang on to. Our personalities like life to be dependable and secure.
So, how do you begin to navigate this often difficult terrain of the void? You begin by paying attention to your intuition. It is the wiser part of you that’s calling you forward. In essence it’s saying, “You need to let go of what is no longer working. Better things are in store. Listen. I’ll show you the path back to peace.” Spirit is always calling us towards our true self. This is when we are living fully in forgiveness, compassion, love, kindness, harmony, joy and support of others.
The way back from a void is not usually through a big leap. It’s not one day you’re in the void and the next day, voila, a big success! Part of the task is making peace with the fact that you’re in a transition and that you’re okay. You’re being led. There is an inner compass guiding you along the way. Following are some ways to access it.
Take Time for Quiet — It’s very tempting to take a great deal of action when you’re in a transition. On the surface, action would seem to fill the void. You may think that if you’re always “on” — sending out resumes, getting together with friends, checking your phone for messages, logging onto Facebook — that you’re doing something to hasten your journey out of the transition zone. On the contrary, it may delay your parting. I’m not suggesting you don’t take any action. However, this is the time to daydream, read a good book, enjoy a walk, take a few days away on a retreat, meditate and pray.
Find Moments of Joy — Think of small things here. Pay attention to your environment and begin noticing what brings a smile, a sense of peace, a spring to your step. I took a short walk around the bustling area near my office as I was thinking about this article. I noticed a small child skipping down the sidewalk in sheer delight. A woman asked me for directions. She was going to the dentist and dreading an appointment for a root canal. I was able to offer both directions and my experience of root canals not being so bad! I looked down at the sidewalk and saw little impressions of maple leaves in the cement as if designed by a Divine artist. It was a 10-minute walk full of delight.
What Does Your Heart Need? —You may be used to navigating your life by your head, your thoughts, your intellect. You may have thrived on facts, data and analysis, but now, in this transition zone, the question becomes “what does your heart need?” Author Barbara DeAngelis writes, “Messages, calls and directions are always appearing if we pay attention. If you navigate by the map of the heart, miracles can happen in your life.” Try this: close your eyes. Put your hand over your heart and ask, “What would comfort me right now?” Or, “What could I do to feel better?” Listen. What idea, feeling, instinct or clue comes to you? How can you put that into practice today?
Know That You’re Being Guided — If you’ve been a newsletter subscriber for a while, you know that you have a wise guidance available to you at all times. The Divine is always speaking encouragement to you through your intuition, helpful friends, great books, inspiring works and many other ways. God wants you to succeed. If you have a dream in your heart — for a career you’ve always wanted, for a relationship filled with love and respect, for the overcoming of an illness or addiction, or an opportunity to help others — don’t settle for less. God puts those dreams in there for a reason and He will give you the tools to help you manifest them in the world. They’re part of your calling, your mission. I know you’ll make it through and live a life of joy.

My Favorite Intuition Techniques!
Last month I did a video podcast with my friend and Japanese best-selling author, Ken Honda. He’s the author of the book, Happy Money.
We had a free-wheeling, hour-long conversation about how to trust and develop your intuition. It was fun! Click the image to learn why Ken thinks that in the future “intuition will be more important than money” and much more!
Note: The first 3 minutes are completely in Japanese. The rest is in English with a Japanese interpreter. Enjoy!

These Words Are Intuition Killers!
We all use them.
They stifle new ideas, restrict inspirational wisdom and make you feel exhausted and directionless.
What, you ask?
The words that are INTUITION KILLERS. What are they? They’re words like…
“I’m stuck.”
“I don’t know.”
“Nothing is working out.”
“I guess I should just give up.”
“I don’t know what I want to do.”
You get the idea. It’s the thoughts and words that kind of suck the life out of you and leave you totally without a clue about what to do next.
We use these words most often when our intuition is telling us it’s time for a change and we’re in a transition. It’s an unsettling time for most people. We hate not knowing. The famous philosopher “anonymous” once said, “The bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you refuse to make the turn.”
How do you begin to make the turn? Listen to what you say to yourself. The Course in Miracles has an affirmation that says, “I could choose peace instead of this.” You have a choice over the thoughts you choose. You can choose the ones that make you feel good, hopeful and positive or the ones that make you feel rotten, hopeless and miserable. Here are a few general statements you can make to yourself when you’re feeling down. See which ones make you feel more hopeful and begin to include them in your own inner dialog.
“Things have a way of working out for me.”
“Let me be open to new possibilities.”
“My intuition is guiding me to my right next steps.”
“I’m willing for life to be fun and enjoyable.”
Interested in learning more? Here are four tips to help you get going in the right direction again!
Acknowledge it’s time for a change — You don’t need to give up a job or career right now as the result of this insight. It’s simply an inner step in the process of change. Consider letting friends and appropriate colleagues know what you’re thinking. They may see that you possess strengths, skills, and interests that you haven’t acknowledged in yourself.
Give yourself a period of exploration time — Depending on your situation, this can be a few weeks to a few years. You’re using this time to consult your inner compass, your intuition. Of the possibilities in front of you, what feels exciting? Be willing to explore interests that may not make immediate sense in terms of a career choice. Within your dreams, interests, and aspirations you’ll find opportunity. It’s as if your intuition gives you clues about the best path to follow even though your limited logical mind may not know where you’re headed!
Commit to taking action steps — Motivational speaker and author Tony Robbins once observed, “You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You must take action.” What are three things you could do this month that would give you information about your interest? Perhaps you could take a class, read a book, make an appointment with a career coach, or talk to someone who has a similar goal. It doesn’t have to be a huge risk. When you commit to action, your intuition can begin to guide you. It puts options, possibility, and hope in your path.
Ask your intuition open-ended questions — These might include “What would I enjoy doing for work?” “What next steps can I take that will lead me in the right direction?” “Who can I talk with that will help me with these choices?” “What could I do that would help others and be fun for me?” As you go about your day, pay attention to any inner nudges or impulses from your intuition that points you in a new direction.
What’s YOUR favorite technique to help you get unstuck? Let me know! I love reading your answers!

Calm Words During Times of Stress
I’m hearing from so many of you during this time of high stress. Just this week alone I’ve had an intuitive reading client report that they tested positive for Covid. Another was laid off in a field where it’s currently difficult to find a job. There are also lots of folks with young families who are unnerved about the back-to-school situation. Where is intuition during this time and how can it help?
Here is an exercise that will help you get through a difficult period:
Your intuition is always there to guide you. It doesn’t leave you in the lurch when you most need it. It doesn’t disappear from your life as soon as a crisis hits. I also know that it can feel that way. We often speak of intuition as a still, quiet inner voice. You may think of it as Infinite Wisdom, your Soul, the Universe or God. However you view it, I wish there was a switch to turn up the volume on the wisdom it shares, especially during times of stress. We have such a cacophony of other inner voices vying for attention. The voices we usually hear as the loudest are the ones that say, “I’m scared. I’m overwhelmed. I’m alone. Get me out of this mess!”
Try These Affirmations
Here are some words to use to help you feel calm and to open you to the guidance you need during times of stress. Feel free to mix and match any of them. Some of them may work for you and others won’t. Use the statements that make you feel better and repeat them throughout the day. You’ll find that if you do, you’ll be more receptive to hearing direction from Divine intuition, and more able to act on its wisdom to guide you to a peaceful resolution to the conflict you’re experiencing.
I know that I’ll feel better soon.
Healing is taking place within me.
I know I’ll figure this out.
I am safe; surrounded and protected by a loving wisdom.
I trust myself to get through this situation. I know I’m strong.
Support is coming from a variety of sources. I am open to receive all loving assistance.
I know that new doors to opportunity will open as I go through this transition.
I know that I have to let go of the old in order for the new to be born.
I deserve a life that is balanced, abundant and full of rich possibilities.
I am open and receptive to new avenues of abundance.
I am guided through this day. I know that I will make the right choices.
Good will come out of this situation. I am patient as it unfolds.
I have control over my thoughts and right now I am choosing to feel peace.
My life is unfolding in new ways. Things have a way of working out.
I create space for love and kindness in my life.
You may want to consider putting the statements on post-it notes in locations where you’ll see them often. For example, you could place them on a mirror, in your wallet, by your bed or on your refrigerator.
Have Courage and Try Again
When I’m working with my clients I often hear my own inner voice whispering, “Tell them to have courage and to try again.” Your past does not equal the future. Yesterday’s failure does not equal your future outcomes. You’re a different person than you were just a year ago. Nothing is a failure if you learn something from the experience. Things don’t always go the way you’d planned. It might be helpful to think about these temporary setbacks as God’s way of helping you to grow strong in the broken places.

How to Stay Calm When Life Gets Crazy!
Change is a constant in all of our lives. Each one of us is experiencing it right now even though our individual situations may be different.
Last fall my husband and I sold our home on Cape Cod and moved to Southern Maine. That was proceeded by several family members passing unexpectedly. Now we have the pandemic. It’s been a roller coaster year to say the least!
Several years ago I wrote Listen: Trusting Your Inner Voice in Times of Crisis. I interviewed many people who were going through a life transition (divorce, job change, health challenge, etc.) for my book. I thought it might be helpful to re-read what I wrote given my current life changes!
Here are the top five suggestions they had for making this time of change a little easier.
1) Discover Spiritual Sustenance
Prayer, meditation, down-time, spending time in nature, asking for intuitive guidance and reading inspirational books were the most frequently mentioned ways to acknowledge and flow with the tough times.
Prayer and meditation soften our hearts our hearts. It is most often done in moments of silence. Prayer requires a vulnerability and openness to make way for something new. It may be a new idea, a belief, or simply a shift in consciousness that allows you to see the world through different eyes.
2) Use a Favorite Affirmation
Affirmations can be simple, positive phrases that describe the life you want. Or, they can be a powerful expression that helps you feel calmer during times of stress.
Common ones that people used were:
“Every day in every way, my life is getting better and better.”
“Things have a way of working out for me.”
“My intuition is my guide and I take time to listen within.”
“I let go and let God.”
“I am calm and relaxed as I move through my day.”
3) Do Something Fun Every Day
When life throws you a curve ball, it’s all to easy to let it ruin your day. If that happens to you consistently, consider making a list of small pleasures. These can be your go-to items when a challenge arises. These don’t need to be expensive or time-consuming. Favorite items that my interviewees noted were:
Having coffee with a friend.
Making time to read an enjoyable book.
Watching a funny movie.
Taking a short walk.
Go out for ice cream.
Take a bike ride.
Playing with a child.
Making (or ordering in!) some comfort food.
Spending time in the garden.
Cranking up some tunes and dancing.
Take a drive to the ocean (lake, pond, mountain, forest) for a communion with nature.
4) Remember: This too Shall Pass
Most likely you’ve gone through a life transition before. It could be a positive, but anxiety-producing time such as graduating from college, getting a first job, or becoming a new parent. What helped you then?
Each time you face a new challenge, remember to concentrate on the skills, talents and resources that enabled you to survive the last rough patch. Life does change, and usually for the better. Be patient as life unfolds.
5) Embrace All That Life Offers
What if the current challenge you’re facing were meant for your good? Albert Einstein asked the famous question, “Is the Universe a friendly place?” I say YES! The change you’re experiencing is a letting go of the old and a making way for the new. Embrace all that comes your way. Know that you are being led to even more expansion, more love, more joy. Know that God is with you and guiding your path. Tune in and listen for that still, quiet voice within. The answers you seek are there.

Let the Universe Help You
Last week I gave a reading to a woman I’ll call “Leslie.” She was telling me how discouraged she felt. “I feel like I have a bigger calling, especially now with the pandemic. I want to do something with my gifts. I just can’t figure out how to get there so I keep going back to the same old comfort zone.” Does this sound like you?
One of the biggest challenges facing many of my clients is that they talk themselves out of their hopes and dreams before they even begin. They do this because they can’t figure out how to get to where they want to go. I’d like to propose a radical alternative. I don’t want you to try to figure out how to reach your goal. Let the Universe help you. Your skills and talents are needed now more than ever.
Here’s my theory — when you hold a strong desire or goal, you send out a vibrational energy that the Universe wants to match. In other words, it wants to help you achieve your goal. Your job is to be clear about what you want, to keep your focus off what you don’t want, and to take small steps each day based on what you feel excited about. That excitement is your intuition communicating with you.
For extra bonus points and quicker manifestation, I also want you to visualize, affirm, feel and imagine your successful outcome.
My message to Leslie?
If something is in your heart that you feel excited about, you, (with the help of God/ The Universe/Your Higher Self,) have the means to achieve it.
Did you know that my intuitive consulting business began over 30 years ago when I felt intuitively guided about where to sit at a friend’s funeral service?!* If it can come up with an ingenious solution for me, it can do it for you, too.
The Universe knows how to make your dream happen. Think of it as a kind of Divine Intelligence that has the necessary skills to bring together the exact set of circumstances you need to make your goals a reality. All the logic and intelligence you can muster may not be able to pave the way to this ultimate goal of yours as easily as the Universe can. Let Divine Intelligence do its job and orchestrate all the synchronicities, coincidences and circumstances that need to occur for you to create a life you love.
So how about you? What’s your dream for your life? What step can YOU take today?
*The woman I was guided to sit next to turned out to be a writer for the Boston Globe newspaper. I ended up giving her an intuitive reading. She wrote a glowing article about my session. A week after it was published I had over 500 clients clamoring for a reading!

Are You a Money Magnet?
Which of the following two people would you guess was the more prosperous?
Person #1: “I hesitate to try anything new because a problem might arise and just cause more trouble in my life. I don’t like change. It’s hard for me to trust others because they might take advantage of any new ideas I have. I feel resentful of people who have more money than I have. Life isn’t fair. I don’t know why things seem to work out for everyone else but they don’t for me. I guess I was just born unlucky.”
Person #2: “I take appropriate risks. I feel confident in my ability to create new and wonderful things in my life. People generally like and trust me and I like and trust others. I know that I build my self-esteem each time I take a small or large step toward my goals — and I succeed. I appreciate life and all that I have.”
The answer is pretty obvious. You immediately want to vote Person #2. You have a feeling that you could probably trust him to manage your investments or to handle a special project at work. You might even like to have him over for dinner to discuss business opportunities. This man draws money to him because he feels worthy of it and he respects himself enough to be cautious with it.
People who are happy and prosperous tend to envision success. They have a positive expectation of success, and their thoughts and actions are consistent with the anticipation of prosperity and abundance. They play out their dreams and ambitions in their minds, listen to their intuition and take action on its wisdom. You might think of them as merely lucky. However, it’s as if prosperity and success seek them out. They magnetize what they want to create through the power of their mind and emotion.
If you can stretch your imagination a bit further, consider that there is an “abundance energy” that permeates the very air around us. Do you think our Person #1 is going to be very attractive to this abundance? My guess is that even if he did manage to draw some money his way, it would soon disappear. Conversely, if our Person #2 begins to attract abundance, you have no doubt that he will respect it, treat it wisely and invest it well.

Are You a Money Magnet?
You Are a Money Magnet!
You feel good about yourself. You take time for fun and personal self care. You’ve been made a lot of progress in the self-esteem department. Your intuition communicates with you in so many ways.
Your job is to keep the lines of transmission open and check in with your inner guidance whenever you have a doubt, question or concern. The answers are always there, directing you to the prosperity you deserve. As you ask for direction, the answers begin to flow. You stand at all times in a Universe full of abundance and love. As you continue to embrace it, your life will begin to unfold in miraculous ways.
Keep Going! You're on Track!
Don't stop when things are just satisfactory; continue to take small steps toward your ultimate happiness, even when that route takes you out of your comfort zone.
When you follow your intuition it will invariably lead you to a life of joy. Your intuition is a guide to your prosperity. When you trust its wisdom and take action on the information you receive, doors open, opportunities appear, synchronicities occur.
Don’t try to logically figure out how you’ll achieve your goals; there’s an element of trust in this process. Goethe said, “Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” Intention has power and miracles happen!
How would someone act who had achieved your goal? Act as if success is certain. Know that you’ll create your dreams.
Don't Get Discouraged on the Path!
Expect a few setbacks on the road to prosperity. They’re a natural part of the process in creating a life you love and we’ve all managed to get through them. They help us to grow and learn. Don’t view them or yourself as a failure because you ran into an obstacle.
Pick yourself up, continue to experiment and proceed with all the fearlessness you can muster. Ask yourself what you learned and get back on your path. Want your goal enthusiastically. Shift your focus from "I can’t” to “How can I?” Talk to people who will be supportive of you and your goal.
Take some small steps toward your dream and keep walking. You’ll get there!

Intuitive Guidance in Times of Fear
We are certainly going through a huge time of change, anxiety and fear. The pandemic is affecting us all in different ways – our bank accounts, our livelihood, our health. Call me an incurable optimist, but I feel hopeful.
This new normal is calling us to practice all that we’ve learned about spiritual growth and development. It’s at this time we need to stay open to our intuitive guidance. To be curious, kind, gracious, creative and thoughtful. Many of you were born at this time because you came here to be teachers, healers and way-showers for this shift that’s happening in our world right now.
Our planet is shaking up and letting go of the old, self-destructive ways. The ones in which greed, environmental destruction and “me first” prevailed. It is making way for the new and hopefully healthier structures of caring for each other, our community and our planet. We’re all in this together. You are part of this healing.
What does your inner wisdom have to say?
We all have different roles in this unfolding. But one of the primary ones is to choose peace and faith over fear.
Spend time every day tuning in to your heart. That’s where most of us experience our inner wisdom. Ask questions. Listen for the answers. They don’t always come right away. Be patient.
What are some good questions? Choose one or more of these:
How can I use this time to be of service to others?
What positive changes could I make in my own life at this time?
What changes would I like to see in the world and how could I be part of that process?
What would make me feel better today?
What could I do to make someone else feel better?
What are some self-care strategies I can commit to doing each day during this crisis?
The answers may come as an inner whisper, a nudge in a certain direction, an “aha moment.” You may be drawn to a book, a podcast, a conversation. All of these are among the many ways Spirit speaks to us.
Prayer of protection
One of my favorite prayers is from the Unity Church. It’s called “Prayer of Protection.” Whenever I feel upset and need to center myself, these are the words that come to mind:
The Light of God surrounds me;
The Love of God enfolds me;
The Power of God protects me;
The Presence of God watches over me;
Wherever I am, God is, and all is well.
Keep your focus on what you want
“Out of difficulties grow miracles,” said French author Jean De La Bruyere. Begin to think about what you would like to happen. (Not what you fear.) Author and speaker, Esther Hicks has a great sentence completion exercise that I love. “Wouldn’t it be great if….” You fill in the blank with whatever your heart desires. Grab a pad of paper and complete as many of those sentences as you can think of.
It will take some focus and practice to break the habit of habitual worrying, but the dividends will be huge. Because of your new openness, your intuition will be able to deliver some brilliant new ideas. You’ll also be receptive to synchronicities and coincidences that will open up possibilities and new directions.
I’m sending all of you love and positive thoughts. Write back and let me know any questions you have or topics you’d like me to write about. We’re all in this together.
