September 18, 2022: Turbo Dork Paint Preview Party!

We joined our friends at Turbo Dork for their new paint preview party at Dragon's Lair here in Austin, and Steve got to try out the upcoming additions to their line! New color shifting and metallic paints were offered, and the results were extraordinary. We provided some preview minis from The Fantasy Trip Foes II  (don't miss the original Foes ), as well as Car Wars Sixth Edition cars, and painters seemed to love throwing the new paints on them. 

These new paint colors will be available later this fall, and there may also be a release party. We'll share as soon as we have more news! Check with your local store about carrying Turbo Dork paints; they make some exceptional stuff, and have more colors and lines coming in the future!

September 17, 2022: Silicon Valley Tarot Now Available

After being unavailable for many, many years, we have released the Silicon Valley Tarot as a print-on-demand deck at DrivethruRPG. The rulebook is not included with the print-on-demand cards, but you can download the PDF on our site and then order the printed cards at DrivethruRPG to gain access to the entire deck.

What will happen to me? My program? My career? The Silicon Valley Tarot knows.

Created by Thomas Scoville, this tarot deck became "flavor of the month" on the Internet before a single tree died to create a real card. 

Clearly, we need to add more out-of-print cards to DrivethruRPG's print-on-demand card program. We'll get on that.

September 16, 2022: New Car Wars Sixth Edition Playmat Pre-Orders

As we officially release Car Wars Sixth Edition to stores across the world (see this Daily Illuminator post), we'e also hard at work on new game content and accessories for this fastest-playing edition of the classic game of automotive combat. The Car Wars Companion – which features new scenarios and rules options – is in the editing stage and not quite ready, but we are happy to announce that we're running a pre-order campaign for the new Car Wars playmats. 

There are a total of three new City Block playmats, each of which can be used alone or combined with other playmats in the series to create a large battlescape. These playmats give you a way to vary the terrain in your games and will make excellent tools for those of you crafting original scenarios. 

In addition to the three new playmats, we're also listing several other Car Wars Sixth Edition playmats in the pre-order campaign. Pre-orders are scheduled to ship in 2023, though, so we recommend only ordering the new playmats as a part of this offer unless you're fine with waiting until next year to get all the goodies. If you want to use the existing expansions today, we suggest asking at your favorite local game store or ordering at Warehouse 23, our online store.

September 14, 2022: 12 Dice Of Christmas On The Water

We mentioned Steve's 12 Dice of Christmas game last month, and now we can report that the game has completed manufacturing and is in transit to our primary warehouse in Georgia. The game left the factory a few weeks later than we had planned (yet another victim of the global pandemic), but we still hold out hope that it will reach store shelves no later than the first week or two of November.

Holiday games are always a risk, since the sales window is traditionally very tiny, but they can also become evergreens if good luck strikes, so we're reassuring ourselves that things may still shake out well in the end. The worst case scenario is that shipping delays force us to warehouse the game until next September or October. Wrapping up cash in inventory is never our goal, but we're in this for the long haul and willing to sit on that inventory if necessary.

At right, you can see one of the photos the factory sent us showing the game's components. You'll have to provide your own pencils, but otherwise the box has everything you need . . . including a dice bag if you want to move the components into a slightly more portable package.

Please wish us luck! We would very much like to send 12 Dice of Christmas to store shelves this year, but we acknowledge that the world is still a wreck and some things (shipping!) remain out of our control.

Now that the final stages of the fulfillment of the physical Kickstarter rewards are coming to a close, we're ready to announce the release of Car Wars Sixth Edition to our distributors across the world.

September 12, 2022: Hexagram 10 and T'reo School Kickstarter Ends Today

Our 10th Hexagram project is coming to an end today, and we're very excited about the massive support this series continues to receive! Who knew a little zine about The Fantasy Trip would reach 10 issues, with its own vault to store it all? But it has! This is the last day to back, so make sure to get your pledge in before 4:00 p.m. Central time today.  This is also the first opportunity to get The T'reo School of Martial Magic . This 92-page supplement for The Fantasy Trip was written by David Pulver. It describes T'reo, a school for battle mages to get their combat training in the most realistic environment possible. Few are accepted, and fewer still will survive to graduate. Will you be a valedictorian or a washout? (And if you wash, will you leave by Craven's Gate, or will you leave in a box?) The T'reo School was first mentioned in the introduction to Wizard , back in the dawning days of TFT . Now it's more than a quickly dropped bit of color . . . it's a fully developed environment for adventures or whole campaigns, with connections to Ardonirane, Dran, and the rest of the campaign area we have described so far. Thanks again to all of The Fantasy Trip fans for the support, and to all the contributors to Hexagram over the first 10 issues.
