August 23, 2022: Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel (On Twitch)

Gotham residents, lend me your ears (and eyes). We've reopened pre-orders on Steve Jackson's Munchkin Presents Batman , and to celebrate we were joined by the man himself, Steve Jackson, on #SJGamesLive over on Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube. August 21, 2022: Experimenting With International Crowdfunding Fulfillment

We've struggled repeatedly with the international shipping of crowdfunding rewards. Shipping from the United States to other nations, even Canada, is expensive and frustrating these days, with costs and complexities rising every year. Combine those costs with the delays, and the various fees different nations charge on shipments from the US, and the end result is a significant stress point, financial threat, and overall nightmare that has made offering international shipping less and less beneficial to our operations. When we try to keep shipping charges close to our actual costs, there's no margin to deal with the inevitable shipping hiccups and requests for replacements and refunds.

Now, thanks to our partners at PSI, we have access to a new international shipping option that might minimize some of these risks . . . door-to-door tracking. Right now, our Nanogames: Aquarium & Eat Thy Neighbor project on Indiegogo offers shipping to Canada, the EU, and the UK. This is a smaller project, which makes it a great test of the new option. 

We will also test with another project soon. With luck, this new international shipping option will allow us to offer more reliable (and faster) international shipping. It does come at a price, but the option is there in the Indiegogo campaign if you want to give it a try and be a part of the test.

August 22, 2022: Triplanetary Back In Print

First published almost 50 years ago, Triplanetary is one of those boardgame classics that was out-of-print for many, many years. A few years ago, we ran a Kickstarter campaign to bring the game back. But shortly after the new printing shipped to stores, we exhausted our supply . . . and Triplanetary was once again out-of-print and unavailable.

Great news, gang! We have reprinted the recent edition and Triplanetary is once again available! At the moment, the game is a Warehouse 23 exclusive, but that may change once the new Triplanetary book is ready (Steve revealed the project in this Daily Illuminator post).

August 20, 2022: My New Dice Game

is called Eat Thy Neighbor . It's a little bitty game – a Nanogame – and we are running an Indiegogo for it right now. You also get Jean McGuire's Aquarium , which is cooperative. In that one, you and your friends are stocking aquariums and collecting species.

Eat Thy Neighbor is not cooperative. It's about a simple and deadly ecology. Eat or be eaten, or both! The object is just what it sounds like. Then you start on the next neighbor, and so on, and so on.

Very inexpensive to support, because the format is so small that shipping does NOT eat your lunch. And both these are fun. Please, give them a try!

August 17, 2022: Join Me Tonight At Dragon's Lair For New Turbo Dork Colors

(What a long title! But that's what it took to get everything in it. No clickbait here. If you didn't want to read the story you wouldn't have gotten this far.)

At any rate . . .

I will be joining Turbo Dork for their weekly painting night at Austin's Dragon's Lair (2438 W. Anderson Ln, Suite B-1, Austin, TX, 78757) to show off the brand new TD colors. I got an advance look and they're gorgeous.

The event starts at 7pm tonight, Wednesday the 17th. I will try to be a bit early, but don't hold me to that. 

We're bringing a batch of crabmen from the upcoming Foes 2 and some Car Wars cars, because both these things look great in crazy metallic colors.

I'm mostly there to paint and hang out, but if you buy something at DL, I will be happy to sign it. Preferably something of mine , of course  :)  Anyway, don't be shy about asking, if you want a game defaced. 40 years in, and it's still a thrill when someone asks for a signature.

August 15, 2022: Munchkin Cosplay Contest

Munchkin fans, suit up! If you missed our recent Munchkin Monthly newsletter (you should sign up for that), here's the information on our cosplay contest! Running now until Halloween, the rules are simple: dress up as your favorite Munchkin character, take a picture, and send it via our entry form. There are some other assorted rules, like making sure your costume is PG-13, but you can read the details on the entry form.  As far as characters, we can't wait to see what everyone chooses! Spyke and Flower are perennial favorites, but why not try out some classic monsters? There's the Net Troll, Duck of Doom, or even Gazebo! If you have a more obscure choice, that's fine as well. It's all about your favorite! Winners will be announced in early November. Prizes include actual cash, plus some awesome signed Munchkin swag. Entries are open now, so go kick down that door!
