October 29, 2022: Bad Christmas And The 12 Dice Of Christmas Shipping Update

Those shipping headaches we mentioned (see this Daily Illuminator post) that delayed two of our upcoming games – The 12 Dice of Christmas and Bad Christmas – have been resolved! Both games are now in our primary warehouse and scheduled to ship to distributors ASAP. This also means that the Warehouse 23 pre-orders should ship by the first week of December, putting the games in your hands before Christmas.

October 27, 2022: The Tremendous Tome Of Epic Dungeons

A thing that I really like about conventions, especially the big shows, is seeing the display dungeons. You know the type I mean . . . somebody with huge craft talent has spent hundreds of hours building a three-dimensional space, and brings it to be marveled at. And they are indeed marvelous, with columns, depths, bridges, balustrades . . . There might be lights. There might be movable apparatus. There might, Ghu help us, be fog.

The next best thing to experiencing one of those is seeing good pictures, and that's where Jeff Hall and Dave Taylor have come in. Their Tremendous Tome of Epic Dungeons, now funding on Kickstarter, will be a 144-page compilation of the very best in 3-D dungeon creation. Lots of pix AND lots of words. Enough inspiration for a lifetime, even if you measure your lifetime in elf-scale.

Possible conflict of interest warning, part 1: We are in the midst of building out our Squarescape and Hexscape dungeons for their 2023 campaigns, and we'll submit some preliminary photos for possible inclusion in the Tremendous Tome.

Possible conflict of interest warning, part 2: There is no guarantee that anything we send will be used. It may not make the cut! What we are doing is good, and I'm proud of it, but the sample pictures I have seen are far beyond "good." They set a high bar indeed. So we'll do the best we can and see what happens.

But the point is this: The Tremendous Tome will be both a fine coffee-table book and a useful working reference. I want one for my own shelf, and we're going to support at the retail level and carry it in Warehouse 23.

But right now, during the Kickstarter, you can get your own, for less, and all the money will go to support the creators. So visit the campaign and reserve your copy. Worth every penny of the surprisingly cheap $45 they are asking!

October 24, 2022: Preorder Roll The Deck! And Pick A Card Dice Today!

Our Kickstarter campaign for Roll the Deck! , a book of dice and card games designed for use with Steve's Pick A Card Dice set, successfully funded earlier this month and the new book is now at print. For those of you who missed the Kickstarter project, we've opened BackerKit preorders where you can grab both the dice set and the book all at the same time.

The dice are scheduled to ship to stores before the end of this year, while the Kickstarter (and preorders) are currently scheduled to mail to backers in early 2023. If you're only after the new dice, we recommend asking at your favorite local game store. However, the Roll the Deck! book is not currently scheduled for widespread release. We will offer the PDF for sale once we have completed fulfillment of the Kickstarter campaign and any BackerKit preorders that may come in.

October 20, 2022: Steve Jackson's Munchkin® Presents BATMAN™ Second Printing

The game may have only reached stores within the last month, but we've already sold through the first printing of the retail edition of the game and placed a second printing order with the factory. This does not mean that the game is unavailable; you can find Steve Jackson's Munchkin Presents Batman at your favorite local game store, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and our online store, Warehouse 23. 

When we sell out of a game at our primary warehouse, this means that copies are out of our hands, but still available in distributor warehouses and on store shelves. It can take a few weeks, or a few months, for those channels to run dry, so we think we're okay and that the game will remain available through the holiday season. We hope.

Note that this applies only to the retail edition of the game. At the moment, we have a healthy supply of the game's Kickstarter edition, and we're pretty sure that will remain available for several months. Maybe. We hope.

The second printing is expected to ship to distrubutors in early 2023.

October 21, 2022: Join Us On Discord November 11 And 12 For FnordCon 6!

Next month, on November 11 and 12, we'll host our next virtual FnordCon . . . and you're invited! We run the online events on our Discord Server and for the show, we plan to host chats with creators, run a "what's new" session, and generally hang out and have a blast. We're still nailing down the schedule and details, but please mark your calendars. We look forward to seeing you that weekend on Discord and, for that matter, you're welcome to join us on Discord every day of the year to talk with other gamers, Steve, and some of our team.
