Frost Visits Lil’ Farm
Frost visits Lil’ Farm in one of the earliest cold spell in years. The pictures below are two mornings in a row of white fields instead of green. The burros are looking fuzzier by the day and the dogs are really loving the cold air.

Looking to the north.

West view the next morning.

Meet the Author in Mayo
This is the official launch of Care Giving: Real Life Answers. Using the cover as inspiration, I created a new look for the signing table. Got rave reviews so it is a keeper. Although the night was a bit slow in attendance, networking was the order of the evening. Since I had been dropping off books before I arrived at the event, I was able to sign up one presentation for February 18 and I am working on three others.

A gathering of all the authors attending. So many friends, new and old.

Thanks to all of you who served and those who waited and worried.

Moon sets and Sun Rises
I stepped out of the front door as I do most mornings and looked to the east for this beginning of a new day. The colors of the sun rising were gorgeous. When I looked the west the moon was hovering as though it just didn’t want to leave the night. Living in the country with no other buildings to mar the view, mornings and evenings provide light shows every day.

Glorious Sunrise in the east

Meet the Author in Cross City
Friday night in Cross City was a fun night. Although attendence was light due to being scheduled on homecoming night, it gave all of us authors a chance to really network. The food was great. Our library hosts were wonderful. I and two of the writers from our writers club had a great time. On the way home, in the dark except for a full moon, we even dodged a deer who was picking its way daintly across the road.

Group picture arranged by height. I’m in the back row.

Wayne Griner and I before the signing.

Just getting started. Schedule put us on the same night as homecoming.

Lots of good food from our library hosts.

Helping a Friend
Sorry, I have been off site for a while. I have been helping a friend clean up, clear out and pack up to move. Leaving early in the morning, thank goodness I am an early riser, and returning late in the afternoon, bone tired, doesn’t leave much energy for anything but a quick shower, a short meal and sleep. However, busy though my world is, it is returning to normal, sort of. This morning after a big breakfast it was painting and catching up on my computer time between brush strokes. And I thought when my children left home I would have time to put my feet up. Who was I kidding?

Off To The Koi Races
I start every morning with a laugh. The day begins at the edge of the koi pond and seven greedy fish race to be the first to gobble the food I toss in before I begin Tai Chi. The light orange fish closest to the edge is named Rocket. He always wins.

Flowers and Fall
Lil’ Farm is starting to get ready for winter. The grass growth is slowing and the leaves are starting to take flight in the wind. Yet flowers keep popping up in the wild meadow even while I create the harvest tablescape for the dining room.

Bananas on Lil’ Farm
One of the best things about living in Florida is the amount of plant life. There is always something going on outside even as Lil’ Farm moves toward winter. I went out to greet the day in my water garden, something I do every morning, even if it rains (there is a porch overlooking the pond). Today, I had to check the progress of the banana trees. Thought I would share what I found.

The pod is not fully open yet. More bananas are coming.

A Night In Perry, Florida
James Gross, the organizer and I before the event.

The Cover was a hit.

Still minutes to go before we begin and the room was filling.
Last night was the unofficial launch of Care Giving: Real Life Answers. In spite of having of only the proof copy of the book and bad weather Care Giving was a hit. James, the organizer had orders for books before I even arrived. The food was great and the audience one of the best any writer could have. A Wonderful Way to launch Care Giving: Real Life Answers.
