Sunday in….the madhouse!
I've said it a number of times but my life really does get crazy on occasion. This weekend has proven to be one of those times. Honestly I don't think I've had time to breath once. I definitely haven't relaxed. Mr.C came home Saturday morning delivering a suitcase load of washing to add to the huge pile I'd neglected the few days before. I managed to get some work done around the housework and general chaos that the house turns into whenever I dive into the edit/writing cave but then it was time to get ready to go out for dinner to a 60th. I think we dragged ourselves home at about midnight. Then it was back up again to do another round of washing, general house tidy and head on out to the in-laws to celebrate Mr.C's birthday as he'd been out of the country when it actually took place. After hours of good food and good fun we raced home to get stuck into the next batch of washing/tidying/cleaning/organizing so that the coming week isn't smothered under an avalanche of chaos. And let's not mention that it's 6 days until I'm boarding a plane for the US. Or that it's 8 days until All Of You releases and I've done nothing in preparation of its arrival. *sigh* Yep, madhouse.
The one highlight of my weekend other than Mr.C's return was this:-
Oh my yes. That does make the madness all worth it.

Time Warp
I'm in one. Or a black hole. Or a dark cave. Or……you get the picture. It's the 14th of September here and what I wanna know is where the hell did July go? WTF? Seriously, I'm not sure if I'm coming (not the good kind) or going right now. I do know that in ten days I'll be going. OMG! In TEN DAYS I'll be flying with Mr.C to LA where we'll spend a day before heading to Louisville, then on to Akron, over to Washington DC, down to Aiken, SC and finally back to LA and home again.
TEN DAYS!!!!
Jeez, when the hell did it get so close? And what the hell should I pack besides the ereaders and laptop? What's the weather like? Will I need warm clothes or can I get excited and expect a little heat? *crosses fingers for warm weather* While in the US I'll be attending RomantiCon. I can't wait to go. I'll get to hang with my CP, Mari Carr as well as a number of other author friends like Nicole Austin. I saw Mari in April at RT but I haven't seen Nic since RT '09. I can't wait to squeeze that girl. Mr.C is looking forward to meeting some more of my author friends, he's had the pleasure of hanging with Mari before so he knows what he's in for there.

TEN DAYS!!!!
I have so much to do in those ten days. Write, promo (All Of You releases Sept.26), write, schedule some blogs to post while I'm gone, write, chew nails over a submission that's sitting on my editors desk, write, pack……oh dear, I'm exhausted just typing that out.
Speaking of promo and releases. I've blogged in two different places this week with snippets of All Of You. Head over to Passionate Reads HERE! for the first one. And head over to the International Heat blog HERE! for the Red Hot Premiere month. The IH authors are certainly heating things up this month. Check out all the latest releases and leave comments to be entered in the draw for prizes, the final one being a Kindle.

Okay, no more wasting time for me. Back to it.

Passionate Reads Pitch Contest
Polish that pitch and whip those chapters into shape because there's a new Passionate Reads pitch contest on the way!! That's right. Passionate Reads is kicking off our second pitch contest and Grace Bradley, editor with Ellora's Cave, will be on hand to judge the entries once again. The winner will receive a line by line critique of the first three chapters of their manuscript. Grace is an incredible editor and I feel qualifed to make that claim because she's my editor! Any feedback she provides will be incredibly valuable.
Our last contest was a huge success and Grace requested material from a number of the entrants. Actually, one of our finalists from last time is now an in-house Ellora's Cave author! It just goes to show you, these contests can really be an accelerator to publication and they're a great way to bypass the slush pile.
The contest kicks off on October 3 when we will be opening the blog here for pitches. That should be plenty of time to get your entries in shape.
Throughout September we'll have some exciting blog posts as a lead up to the event including a discussion from Grace on September 14 (where she'll share some guidelines and tips and field questions) and an interview with our finalist from last year, Anya Richards, brand new EC author on September 26 (where she'll talk about her experience with the contest).
All the official guidelines for the contest, the information on how it will work and the specific schedule can be found on our official contest page. Got any questions at this time? Feel free to post them.
So come on. Get your pitch on!
Kaily & and excited Passionate Reads bunch.

I'll be sharing some pictures of the places that inspired One Night In Bangkok and Singapore Fling, as well as talking about the heroes and heroines of each book. I'll have a couple of giveaways and one main contest that will run the length of the weekend so everyone has a chance to enter.

Sunday in….happy dancing mode.
It's a special Sunday in… this week. You see with Coyote Whispers releasing last Friday I was online checking Amazon to see if it had gone up there yet. Yeah, yeah, wishful thinking I know but still, it's what us authors do. Now last week you'll remember I was in the writing cave so I hadn't 'been' anywhere so you can imagine my surprise when this book Coyote Hunger popped up under my search for new Ellora's Cave titles. You can also imagine the squeal that I emitted when I noticed my name under it! OMG! I've been wishing and hoping and just about willing to sacrifice The Kid for the coyotes to go into print and there they were! Coyote Hunger is the print release of Coyote Run, Coyote Home & Coyote Wild and the cover is gorgeous. For some reason there's no cover image on Amazon but there is over at Barnes & Noble which is where I bought my copy from. What? You don't think we buy our own books? Hell, I buy every one of them just so I'm assured of one sale. LOL
Seriously, is that not the most gorgeous cover? Right now you can get it at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. In a few weeks it will release on the Ellora's Cave site too. I was on my Author page on Facebook earlier when the lovely Mai informed me she'd ordered her copy last week! That will teach me to hide out in the writing cave. Of course I ordered my copy yesterday but it'll take at least a week to get to me.
Of course I ordered my copy yesterday but it'll take at least a week to get to me. Mai will get her's first. *cries* Oh well, at least I know I'm not the only one that will buy it. LMAO  Thank you to Mai for making my weekend. And thank you to all the readers who take the time to either tweet, facebook or email me about my stories. I love hearing from you. It puts a smile on my face and reminds me why all the hair pulling and fighting to get the words right is worth it.

Coyote Whispers Release Day
It's out now! Coyote Whispers is the third book in the Coyote Hunger series and features Doc and Steve. This pair have been the most requested when readers have asked me about more book in the series so I hope you all enjoy finding out how they get to their happy-ever-after.

Book three in the Coyote Hunger series.
"Doc" Gordie has tried to keep Steve McKenna at arm's length, but the sexy coyote shifter is under her skin, in her blood and in her heart. No matter how much she fears what he makes her feel, she can't bear to stay away. After he rescues her from a vicious attack, Gordie is helpless to deny the sizzling attraction burning between them.
There hasn't been a day Steve has not wanted Doc in his bed, but bruised and bloody is not what he had in mind. The need for revenge is riding his coyote—almost as much as his aching desire to finally claim Doc as his own. But that will have to wait. He must first convince Doc the safest place for her is by his side. When a second attack draws them together, suppressed needs explode, leaving no doubt where they both belong.
But danger is never far behind and Gordie is forced to make a fatal decision that could destroy all they've worked so hard to discover.
Excerpt:-
They spent the drive out of town in silence. Gordie didn't mind. It gave her a few minutes to compose herself as the knowledge of what they'd be before this day was over began to sink in. This time the shiver that rolled down her spine had nothing to do with fear. The thought of finally touching Steve like she'd wanted to for so long sent heat shooting through her veins to pool in delicate flesh. Her breasts felt heavy, her sex swollen. Moisture soaked her panties and she had to admit, if only to herself, he made her want things she'd never imagined.
Steve pulled into the attached garage and switched off the engine. The silence seemed to echo around them, the air vibrated with the stillness and Gordie quivered as the power of the moment flowed over her. Once they stepped from the car nothing would be the same. No, the change had happened back at the clinic. When she'd needed Steve with a bone-deep ache that she'd registered even while consumed with fear. It was that one instant in time where the world had clicked into place and she'd seen the future as it should be.
In a second she'd gone from terrified and panicked to calm and centered. She knew what she had to do. Survive at any cost. Steve turned toward her, his forearm resting on the top of the steering wheel. He didn't speak, just watched her with that penetrating gaze. The one that read all her innermost thoughts and made her feel all squirmy inside. No man had ever affected her the way he did and until today Gordie hadn't thought herself capable of handling him. Now she knew differently.
"There's no turning back now, Doc." His fingers toyed with the ends of her hair.
She swallowed over the lump in her throat. "I know."
He smiled. "That easy?"
"It's amazing what a little fright can do for the senses." She tried to return his smile but it somehow slipped from her lips before it could form.
"Come here." Steve released her seatbelt and pulled her into his lap, pinning her between his body and the wheel. "You're safe here, Doc."
Gordie figured he meant in his house, but for her, safety was his arms, the security of his embrace and the strength he offered her willingly. She moved closer, nuzzled her face against the warmth of his neck and drew in his scent. It amazed her how just that small action could soothe her nerves and rile them at the same time.
"Gordie." Warm air ruffled her hair before she felt his lips press to her temple. "Come on, let's get inside or everyone will arrive and find us fucking in my truck."
She gasped. His use of strong language didn't bother her, it was the images the words provoked that made her breathless.
"Yeah, I'm that close." He chuckled as he opened the door and maneuvered them out of the cab.
"I can walk."
"I know, but I want to carry you and you're going to let me." His arms tightened around her.
"Okay."
Steve laughed. "All this easy agreement is starting to worry me, Doc."
"Don't worry. I'll be back to my disagreeable self soon enough and then you'll wish you hadn't started this."
"Never."
"You say that now…"
He swung her legs down until her toes barely touched the ground and pressed her against the side of his truck. "I'll say it forever."
She stared into his dark eyes and felt the truth of his words to the depth of her soul. Gordie watched as Steve lowered his head, his lips drawing closer to hers. His breath brushed over her skin in a butter-soft caress, a whisper of contact, a prelude of what would follow. From one heartbeat to the next his mouth was on hers, his tongue thrusting between her lips to delve inside.
Steve stroked his tongue over hers, toyed with her, coaxed her into joining him in his demand for more. She wound her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist, held on to him as hot lashes of lust struck her. Gordie pressed her body to his, crushed her breasts to his chest and ground her clit on the erection trapped between them. Pounding need thumped a beat as old as time as their mouths continued to devour.
On the verge of an orgasm, Gordie whimpered, the small sound swallowed as he drove the kiss deeper. His hands gripped her hips, pulling her tighter against his straining flesh and pressing into her clit with the perfect amount of pressure to send her into orbit. Convulsion after convulsion seized her. Moisture flooded her panties and the aroma of her arousal floated around them.
He eased back, lightened the strokes of his tongue, and slowed the thrust of his hips. As the final waves of her climax ebbed away he pulled his mouth from hers. Breathing hard, Steve tucked her head under his chin and held her. Gordie struggled to catch her breath and her heart beat hard enough to bruise her ribs.
"I think we should take this inside, Doc."
Coyote Whispers is available from Ellora's Cave and over the next few weeks should hit all other e-tailers.
