SOUND MIND

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You need to understand, I am trustworthy. When I say I will never leave you nor forsake you, it is truth. Trust that I’ve got your back no matter how things look in the natural. It’s who I Am.

SOUND MIND

Ever feel like a real mental case? The answer is a committed, covenant mentality.

Living with a covenant mentality is living with a Jesus mentality. It will keep you close to God so you don’t wander off the reservation. A covenant mentality says, “I have hope no matter what because my God will never forsake me.” In fact, He is constantly working for your benefit!

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. – Romans 8:28

Based on the covenant between you and Jesus, you can come to these conclusions…

You are who He says you are no matter what.

You are blessed no matter what.

You are headed into better places no matter what.

You are loved no matter what.

You are part of His family no matter what – and it’s not because of you! It’s because

                        of your covenant with Him!

Your covenant with God, through Jesus Christ, guarantees you are headed into bigger and better things. It is not His will, or His covenant, that you would regress, worsen or decay in any way except in laying down your life so you can put Him first.

You will always be advancing! Is that you? Are you advancing? If you’re not, it’s time to consider a change in your mental state. Covenant will change every part of your relationship with Jesus for the better!

Today is a good day to take stock of your mental state. Do you have a sound mind based on covenant or trust in yourself? You make a lousy God, so leave it to the one who has promised to give you the mind of Christ. That’s a promise you can know He’ll keep.

DEPENDENCE VS. PARTNERSHIP

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I love to provide for you. You know I am good and enjoy meeting your needs. However, I have better for you. How I long to prosper you. Will you let Me? Bring My power into your wilderness and watch me keep My promises.

DEPENDENCE VS. PARTNERSHIP

There’s a big difference between wilderness and Promised Land living. There is actually a lesson you have to learn in the wilderness in order to be qualified to go into the Promised Land.

The lesson of the wilderness is one of dependency while the lesson of the Promised Land is one of partnership.

Let’s talk about your wilderness. What you learn in the wilderness is this: “Whatever your problem is, God is NOT your problem.” You learn all about dependency. God feeds you, He clothes you and He blesses you in the wilderness – just like any good daddy would do for his kiddos.

The wilderness is a world where everything is wrong, but God makes it right. This is where you learn a very important principle: Don’t bail on God. Ever. If you bail, you’ll stay there and that’s not what you want. You should leave your wilderness saying, “I never will bail on God again as long as I live.”

Then when you get ready to cross your “Jordan River” and enter your “Promised Land,” the lesson of dependency is ingrained. You don’t have to think about it because you’re focusing on taking walled cities, defeating evil kings and beheading your giants.

This is what you learn in the Promised Land: “Hey, I’m going to partner with Him now, in  everything.” You’re going to consider the Kingdom in absolutely every single thing that you do for the rest of your life.

Your job and finances? Partner with God for success. Your marriage, children and home? Bring the Lord into them. Invite Him into everything – your relationships, ministry, entertainment – even your addictions and fallen places. There is no place your Heavenly Father would rather be than in the middle of these things with you.

Have you learned your lesson?

This law scroll must not leave your lips! You must memorize it day and night so you can carefully obey all that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful. I repeat, be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic, for I, the Lord your God, am with you in all you do.” – Joshua 1:8-9

LEGEND IN YOUR ONW MIND?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Your nature is to seek the applause of man as you increase in all areas of your life. I applaud those who allow Me to increase in their life. I am ready to be the fullness in your life. Make room for Me.

LEGEND IN YOUR OWN MIND?

There is something that separates religious people from those who have a true and ongoing encounter with Jesus. They understand that Jesus must increases in their life as they decrease.

For you, that means you are getting small and God is getting big – you are giving Him preeminence in all things. God takes priority not just over your marriage, your finances, job, parenting and every part of your life – it means He takes priority in those things and every part of your life.

Your walk with God is a lifetime of learning how to give Him priority over and in every part of your life. John the Baptist put it this way:

“He must increase, but I must decrease.” – John 3:30

The understanding of “Christ in me” is a promise that I am going to get smaller and smaller, while He gets bigger and bigger. At some point, He will be so enlarged in my life that people are going to see Him, not Troy, and that’s the point!

The promise is that some day, I’m going to supernova and Jesus is going to come busting up out of me in a way that doesn’t leave any trace of me. Until that glorious day, I’m going to be part of His camp, so it’s up to me to get this thing right. It is my job to get small.

How about you? Are you still looking for the spotlight and the praise of men? Do you find ways to look important or drop names of folks you think are impressive?

If you’re a legend in your own mind, stop it! Start bragging on God and what He’s done. The credit is His alone! Only then can God bring you to your destiny so you can truly be used for His purpose and glory.

RIGHT NOW

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Remember what I have done for you. You have seen Me rescue you, provide for and heal you. You know My power. It is just a real in your life as it was for Moses. Do not doubt. Believe My power is for you, today and every tomorrow.

RIGHT NOW!

You need to be very, very, very careful of the religious spirit of the day that you and I live in. The wrong spirit that says the power of God is way off in the future. The power of God is not here right now.

You see, religious people view the power of God through the telescope of a long, long  time ago or long, long time from now. They deny the power of God right now and it causes Jesus to weep.

It breaks His heart. It makes Him think, “Man, I have so many good things for you, and they’re for you. They are for you and you won’t even open the package, you won’t even go there. You won’t cross the line of what is accepted among your peers.”

Listen, it’s not dangerous to know that God will do something great, someday. And by the way, it’s a good thing to believe. I believe that. It’s also not dangerous to believe that God did something great a long time ago.

But it’s very dangerous to believe that God is doing something great today.

You and I, as drop-dead, sold out Jesus freaks, need to separate the “somedays” from  “right now.” I want to see the power of God, right now. I don’t want to wait until I die to know Jesus and you shouldn’t either.

I want to know Him. I want to know Him right now. I want to have peace, right now. I want to have transformation, right now. I want to pray for the sick and see the sick healed, right now. Man, I want to see heaven invade earth, right now.

Do you want these things? Do you want them right now, on this earth? Know and have faith that Jesus has power right now, and that same resurrection power lives in you. You are made for such a time as this – right now!

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. – Romans 8:11

JESUS IS THE PRIZE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

While My relationship with you is personal, remember that it is also public. Why? So you can show and share My love with others. Continue to testify to My goodness. You are not afraid.

JESUS IS THE PRIZE

Your relationship with Jesus is not just about you. Promised Land living is a constant awareness of destiny, legacy and leaving a heritage of forward momentum for others to build on.

Yes, like Jesus, we are to be builders and carpenters. You were born not just to make it, but to make a way for others to make it. Life is fighting, pushing, running, overcoming, building, achieving, declaring and pursuing after God. Someday, not too very long from this moment, you will finish your race.

Now don’t start freaking out! You need to know how this works. For you to walk in the power of God, you have to live in the paradox of complete awareness of both your eternity and your short time here.

When your expected end comes, I hope you can be like Paul – able to look back at your fight for forward and say, “Man, I fought a good fight.”

For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.” – 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Take a good look at this passage. Notice how Paul was not only thinking about himself at the end of his life, but “for all who long for the appearing of Jesus.”

Know this: Paul fought the good fight, and the good fight is one that you win! Yes, you win! So, like Paul, finish the course. Jesus is the prize.

SHORTCHANGED? NEVER!

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am the One who is, that always was, and who is still to come. I can be with you today – right now, in your past or in your future. Invite Me in. I am the Almighty one and time with you is My priority for eternity.

SHORTCHANGED? NEVER!

Expectancy is so important. We need to come into the Presence of the Lord with expectancy. We need to be like, “Hey, man. I don’t know what God is going to do. I just know God is awesome.”

Whenever I can’t map out His hand or whenever I can’t predict His hand, I can predict His heart: He’s good. It’s all about having an encounter with Jesus.

Whether it’s you in your prayer closet, driving down the road singing with the radio, sitting in church listening to me preach, or reading the Word, you need to approach it as you’re going to have an encounter with Jesus.

Without expectancy, it’s hard to get into the presence. It’s hard to hear God, see His hand at work or even feel like He loves you. Expectancy is that important. As a matter of fact, the Message Bible says we will never be shortchanged if we expect great things from Jesus.

In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary – we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit! – Romans 5:5 Message

I know a lot of you are tired. You’re busy. You work really, really hard and I bless you. May the Spirit of the Lord quicken you – be alert in you – in such a way that you finish reading this more in love with the Lord Jesus Christ than when you started – and better equipped.

Put expectancy in your arsenal. Pull it out when you need to battle for better. When you go after God’s heart through His word, prayer, worship, service – whatever you do. Expect God to show up and He will. Encounter goodness today.

SUPERNATURAL SAVIOR

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

There is so much more I have for you. I have gifts of prophecy, healing, discernment and more. Open your heart and mind to the possibilities of more. You are made in my image.

SUPERNATURAL SAVIOR

The book of Daniel is a prophetic book about the sovereignty of God. It’s all about the face of the eagle.

Daniel is so cool. It is the supernatural, prophetic companion to the book of Revelation. The power of God over everything. It’s prophetic. It’s supernatural. It’s mysterious. It’s full of visions–and you have to know Jesus like that.

If you don’t know Him in a powerful way, it’s not enough to study about people who do. You have to know Him as the face of an eagle – the all powerful God of the Universe. You have to know Him in an incredibly powerful way – to personally know Him in His power.

Why? If you know Him in those four powerful ways as written in the Gospels – face of an ox, eagle, man, lion – and backed up by the Old Testament prophets, you can have victory in every single part of my life.

Brother John the apostle knew that. He knew Jesus as the almighty God – supernatural. It’s evident in the way he starts out his book, the Gospel of John. He says, “In the beginning…” and that brother acts like he’s been on a mountain somewhere with God face to face. And he has.

He didn’t see Him as a king. He didn’t see Him as a servant. He didn’t see him as a man. John saw Him as straight up God. That is the supernatural side of Jesus. You have to know Him in His supernatural power.

You have to be able to say, “My life is a life of miracles. I’ve known the power of God throughout my life. I didn’t just study about other people who know the power of God. I actually knew the power of God.”

Do you know Jesus the way Daniel prophesied about him? Do you know him the way John experienced him? If you don’t, go after that side of God. Go after His prophetic gifts and see Him as the face of an eagle.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. – John 1:1-4

COOPERATING WITH THE DEVIL

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

“Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, a good report any virtue, any praise, think on these things” (Phil 4:8). The power of good always overcomes the power of evil. I Am the author and finisher of your faith (Heb 12:2-3).

COOPERATING WITH THE DEVIL

On that great and terrible day that the devil is pulled out of his spider hole and revealed to humanity in judgment, we will all be surprised. Isaiah the prophet paints the picture this way:

“Those who see you will gaze at you, and consider you, saying: ’Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook the kingdoms, Who made the world as a wilderness and destroyed its cities, Who did not open the house of his prisoners?’” – Isaiah 14:16-17

There is a gasp in the crowd, which is expecting to see a giant dragon being pulled from the pit. Instead, a pathetic, balding, scrawny, shaking nerd comes climbing out begging for his pathetic life.

What? Are you kidding me? Really? That’s the personification of all things evil? Why, he’s a weakling! He’s no more powerful than the wizard behind the curtain of Oz.

If the devil is obviously impotent, then where does he get his power?

The answer is just as shocking – from us. His power came from us. His evil had power because we cooperated with it. We held it in reverence. We feared it and, admit it, we even loved it at times. As a result, we propelled and advanced it.

The bottom line is this: the devil isn’t powerful because evil is powerful. The devil is powerful because we are powerful and we tend to work for him. STOP IT!
