BY THE WAYSIDE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You can talk to Me about anything. No concern is too great, no problem too small. When you keep secrets from Me – hurts, habits, hangups – it pains Me to see your lack of trust. I Am for you, not against you! Let me bring fruit in those areas. I Am the vine.

BY THE WAYSIDE

Let me tell you what your harvest is going to do. It’s going to spring up. It’s going to increase, and it’s going to produce. What is the harvest? The thing God is doing within your life – whatever that is. The seed is the Word of God.

This is what Jesus is saying in the Parable of the Sower: “This is what happens when the Word of God comes into your life and it produces a harvest. God gets His way within your life.”

But a harvest doesn’t always happen and the problem is not the seed. The problem is the condition of the person the seed is sown into.

“Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it. – Mark 4:3-4

“Fell by the wayside” means the seed didn’t go into the right places. It fell where the ground wasn’t plowed up and prepared. In other words, you need to let Jesus into the places in your life you’ve never allowed Him before.

The Word of God says to break up the fallow ground. That means take a plow and be prepared for God Almighty to bring the Word of God to places in your life that you’ve never allowed Him in. You’ve never seen a harvest because you don’t let God talk to you about that.

What are you holding back from God? Your marriage, your kids, your job, your thought life or finances? How about the internet sites you visit or the movies you watch? Are your relationships, your addictions, your anger or your past taboo subjects between you and God? They shouldn’t be. Plow them up!

Even when you’re unfaithful, God is going to be faithful to speak into that part of your life, and because you didn’t prepare, the Word comes to change your world and the devil carries it off.

And the worst part is, the seed doesn’t belong to you. It belongs to Him and you let the devil take it. Guard that seed! Have a value for the Word and plow up the hard, rocky places in your life so Jesus can turn that place into a fruitful place.

THE DEEP END

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I have promised a thousand generations to those who love Me. Are your children part of a thousand generations? Show you love me. Reflect Me and My love, and watch your generations follow.

THE DEEP END

God loves your family. He loves the people in your family that you don’t even love. When you’re like, “I cannot believe we’re all part of the same gene pool,” Jesus is like, “Yuuup! And you’re all from the shallow end.”

While there is nothing that can bless you like family, there is nothing that can curse you like family. There’s nothing  better than family or worse than family. With that in mind, know this truth: it is God’s idea for family to be life-giving to you.

Your family being life-giving doesn’t just happen because you’re a Christian. I don’t care how saved you are. You don’t get the goodness of God into your family just because you’re saved or you attend church.

The only way you can be blessed and bring the kingdom into your family is if you partner with God in the long term. It takes hard work, prayer and intentionality. It’s something you determine, then strive for.

It’s up to you to bring the presence of God into your family. It’s not enough for you to have a relationship with Jesus. Jesus has to be part of the family so they can have relationship with Him too.

Your walk with God doesn’t just rub off on your spouse, children, brothers and sisters. You have to introduce them. The best way is to reflect brother Jesus’ sacrificial nature. Or, you can selflessly provide and protect the way Father God does.

When they recognize God’s family resemblance in you, they’ll see that’s a gene pool they want to swim in. So invite Father God and Brother Jesus into the family and jump into the deep end!

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. – Deuteronomy 6:6-7

LET THE BLESSINGS FLOW

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Your blessings, your wisdom, even your faith flow from me. My well of these things is never-ending. Ask and it shall be given.

LET THE BLESSINGS FLOW

In the Promised Land and in Promised Land living, God’s goodness is flowing. The word “flowing” means it’s continual and far reaching.

The place God has for you is flowing with milk and with honey and that means it’s constantly reproducing God’s goodness. It is continual, reaching into every area of your life, and whatever areas you want to go into.

Production is a huge part of the Promised Land experience. Because milk and honey are things that need to be produced – constant production. And I want to tell you about production: it is not one moving part.

Production has lots and lots of moving parts. You and I need to understand that milk doesn’t just happen because cows are there, and honey doesn’t just happen because there are bees.

There are many, many moving parts that have to go right in order for you to get a cold glass of milk or a jar of honey. That means that in the Promised Land, the stuff that needs to go right, goes right. Check out Deuteronomy 28:

The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. – Deuteronomy 28:12-13

He says, “Here’s the deal. Because you and I are in covenant together, I will bring rain in its due season. You can count on the clockwork that is the Promised Land.”

Can you count on your Heavenly Father to keep the production flowing because He is goodness, and His goodness, His promises are far-reaching. Go after your Promised Land. Let the blessings flow!

JESUS DESERVES MORE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I have a plan for your expected end. With that plan, comes many crowns. Do you want these gifts? I want to give them to you so you can crown Me with many crowns. It will be your greatest gift to me.

JESUS DESERVES MORE

There are many, many Christians who are part of the harvest of the Lord, but they don’t have a harvest themselves. That’s a shame. Why? Because the harvest is not yours, the harvest is His.

You and I play a vital part within the harvest, and the problem is not the seed. It’s not the ground. It’s the people in charge of stewarding the harvest. In the book of Matthew, Jesus says something very telling of our generation:

“Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”  – Matthew 9:39

That means you have a whole different agenda than anybody else does. You have to operate in faith, and faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.

Faith, hope, and love are 30-fold, 60-fold, and 100-fold. That’s akin to:

The inner court, outer court, and most holy place.

        Past, present, future.

The sun, the moon, the stars.

The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit.

Egypt, the wilderness, and the Promised Land.

The problem with the harvest – especially a 60- or 100-fold harvest, is most Christians are “Egyptian” Christians. They are “someday” Christians. They don’t walk in the power of God today, but they hope to someday.

For 400 years, the Jews were in Egypt where they said, “Someday God is going to do something. I’m still part of God’s people, but all I can offer now is just the bondage I’m in.” Someday Christians are 30 fold Christians. What’s the problem with that?

Jesus deserves more. He deserves a 100-fold harvest out of you and I. Do you want that? Are you committed? Move to the inner court, then step into the Holy of Holies. Do it for the Lord of the Harvest.

BEAR ONE ANOTHER’S BURDENS

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I have given you My heart – a heart that breaks for the lost and hurting. Bear their burdens just as I bear yours. Your weakness makes you strong because a broken heart makes you available to do My will!

BEAR ONE ANOTHER’S BURDENS

The book of Jeremiah is a prophetic book about the burden bearing side of Jesus. In Isaiah’s encounter with the seraphim in the throne room of God, this is the face of the ox.

Jeremiah is known as the weeping prophet. He’s the brother that cries all the time. While that would have gotten him beat up on the playground at most any elementary school in America, Jesus doesn’t mind all those tears.

A broken and a contrite heart—These, O God, You will not despise. – Psalms 51:17

There’s a way you can only know God through a broken heart. The Bible says He will draw near to the broken hearted. There’s something about a heart that’s been shattered and vulnerable that God cannot resist.

It’s where He can best be seen as a good, kind and loving Father. And what does a father do for his children? He bears their burdens. He takes the blows. He does the work. He takes the responsibility, and as he does, he protects and loves on his kids.

That’s what Father God is like. He wants to take care of you – provide for all your needs. But many of you have the “I can do it myself” attitude Adam and Eve fell victim to. You don’t think you need God. Trouble is, you’re not Him, so you need to stop kidding yourself.

Stop protecting your heart. Let it get broken by the poor, the widow, the orphan, the seeker. Let the sick and hurting bring you to tears. Cry for those so lost in their sin – so distant from God’s love – they cannot see how badly they need Him.

Weep with those who weep, just as Jesus wept when His heart was broken. God can use a broken heart to accomplish much for the Kingdom. Bear someone’s burdens today.

TROPHIES OF REDEMPTION

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am a just God. I see what the enemy has stolen from you. He takes your prosperity, your worth and your promise. But He cannot snatch you from My hand. I am the God of redemption. I will return what was stolen and demand restitution from the thief.

TROPHIES OF REDEMPTION

God is really into redemption, and not just since Jesus redeemed us from sin and death. He’s always been a redemption junkie. Just ask Moses’ mother, Jacobed.

When Pharaoh is going to throw her baby boy to the crocodiles, she beats him to the punch. She builds a basket of reeds and pitch, then floats it in the Nile River – right under the noses of both the hungry crocodiles and the bloodthirsty Pharaoh.

The gamble pays off as Pharaoh’s own daughter rescues baby Moses.

“And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So, she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children. Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?” And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go.” – Exodus 2:5-7

What? Doesn’t the princess know this is a Hebrew child and that her father has decreed them to be crocodile chow? Oh, she knows. But compassion – and God’s plan – will not be denied.

So, the maiden went and called the child’s mother. Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So, the woman took the child and nursed him.” – Exodus 2:8-9

Fascinating! The book of Exodus is all about redemption. Redemption says, “Where you were getting ripped off, now you’re getting paid.” You find this theme all through the book of Exodus.

Where you use to be shamed, now you’re going to be honored. Where it use to be illegal, now it’s going to be official. Where you use to be enslaved, the masters who enslaved you will now pay you. That’s the story of redemption.

If you’re born again, you should constantly be looking for those trophies of redemption. Believe me, they’re there. When you recognize one, don’t forget to make a big deal out of the blood of the Lamb.

THE NEXT “GREAT ONE”

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I want more for you than you can ever imagine. You were created to do great things. I have given you a spirit of power, not of fear. Go after greatness. Glorify My Name.

THE NEXT “GREAT ONE”

If you know anything about hockey, you know about Wayne Gretzky – The Great One. They call him that for a reason, and here’s why: Gretzky is a prophet. Check out this quote on why was so much better than his competition:

“I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been, and I fight my way to get there before everybody else does.”

When I first read that, I was floored because that’s all about living a prophetic lifestyle – a Kingdom lifestyle.

This is what The Great One is really saying: “Well, I’m not playing where the game is. I’m always playing where I think the game is going. While everybody else it trying to keep up with where it is, I’m always going to where I know the puck is going because that’s where the game really is.”

That’s exactly what God would have you and I do.

You and I aren’t fighting for what has been or what is. No, sir. We’re fighting for what can be. That means we’re calling those things that are not as though they are. We’re fighting for those things.

This is what prophetic people do. This is what Christians do. This is what people who are really into Kingdom living do. We’re constantly anticipating and fighting for the next place.

We’re not constantly fighting for what use to be – the way we used to worship, serve, do church or reach the lost. We’re constantly fighting for the next thing. The next move of God. The next way to reach the lost.

You and I were created to fight for the next place. We were created for upgrade. Are you ready to skate to where the puck is? Be the next “Great One.”

Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. – Matthew 18:4

AFRAID OF A FIGHT?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I know the pain of rejection and persecution. When you are persecuted for doing good in My Name, I feel that pain with you. Continue to love people and testify to My truth despite the rejection of men. You are fighting the right battle and I am proud of you!

AFRAID OF A FIGHT?

Even though my persona is that I’m very thick-skinned, I’m going to be very transparent. I have a hard time dealing with the hatred that comes against me, my friends, and the Body of Christ today.

“Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.” – 1 John 3:13

Even though Jesus warned persecution was coming to every drop-dead, sold out Jesus freak of this generation, I’ve not done well with the stack of hate mail I get every week.

I laugh at it, make fun of it, and I tell people about it, but privately I’ve had a lot of problems dealing with it. You know, I don’t know how to answer a lot of the hatred slung my way because there’s no place in our society to answer it.

A good example is sports hero Tim Tebow and how he’s hated. Just hated. The mob against him is basically saying, “How dare you be a Christian!” In America today, it’s “cool” to hate on Jesus-freaks.

As we deal with this post-Christian nation and the general collapse of our society today, I pray all the time, “Lord, please give me a voice and the language to answer that,” and “Lord, tell me the stance I need to take.” I need to know because I’m a Texan and I love to fight.

Because of this, if I’m not careful, I’ll be fighting on the wrong front. It’s hard to win when you’re on the wrong battlefield, so I want to fight the right battles. I don’t want to fight the wrong battles, but worse yet, I do not want to be guilty of not fighting at all.

So, as part of this tribe of end times Jesus warriors, strap on the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth and the shoes of peace. Pick up that shield of faith and swing that sword of the Spirit of Truth and get to work! It’s the truth that sets people free. That’s the right battlefield!

ON THE OFFENSIVE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

While you need to defend yourself against the enemy and the things of the world, you reflect Me best when you fight from an offensive stance. Chase down evil. Tear it out by the roots. It’s your legacy from Me.

ON THE OFFENSIVE

While your fight is not for survival, you do need to know that there is certainly a fight going on. The Promised Land is not for wimps and cowards. The Promised Land is not for people who need to be held and cuddled. That’s what the wilderness is for.

Listen, all of us need those times when we’re just held by God. But there comes a time where you pull up your big boy pants and Father God doesn’t talk baby talk to you anymore.

There comes a time guys, when God will change His voice. He’s not going to change His Word, but He’s going to change His voice toward you because you get into the fight.

When you do, He says, “OK man, I love you. I believe in you. Here’s a sword and I double-dog dare you to go take down some walled cities. I double-dog dare you to go slay some kings who want to be in alliance with you who are against Me.”

So you break down some walls in your marriage and with your kids. You break down walls of poverty and lack. You tear down fear, doubt, depression and disease. When Father God sees you going on the offensive, He’s proud, but that’s just the start.

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  – 2 Corinthians 10:4

He says, “I double-dog dare you to go further. Do not avoid giants. Go find ‘em, and here’s what I want you to do: I want you to take your sword, hack off their head and hang it up in your house. Use ‘em as trophies. You don’t avoid them, you show them off to everyone.”

Show off the trophy of sobriety. Hang up the trophy of a changed life so the world will see that you are a warrior and your God backed you up. That is your legacy. That is your heritage in the Lord. Go! Take it.
