UNFINISHED WORKS OF ART

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in Jesus’ name that I know the goodness of God. It is real in my life. Today I will give that goodness away. I will brag on my Heavenly Father and share His abundant love and joy with all I meet.

UNFINISHED WORKS OF ART

Did you know Leonardo Da Vinci never finished the Mona Lisa? Did you know he painted two of them? Do a Google search on the second Mona Lisa and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Unfortunately, I think our portrait of Jesus might look more like the Mona Lisa than anything else because we are not really sure if God actually smiles. It is absolutely evident to me and anybody with a third grade education that the church as a whole has not been totally convinced of God’s goodness. Because of that, the church has not been known for being life-giving.

Many throughout my life and ministry have told me they consider the church to be a lot of folks wearing frowns of disapproval. We’ve all seen them. Has your kid ever thrown a fit during church? Frowns. Have you even worn less than your Sunday best? Frowns. Struggled with an addiction, sickness or had a financial hardship? More frowns.

The church has been known for judging people who are not just like them for far too long. Let’s change that!

We need to paint pictures of God’s goodness through our goodness. The Bible tells us in Ephesians that we’re supposed to be imitators of Christ. It also tells us that God is love, so we should look like love! When we don’t, people like Billy Joel write songs about us that reflect poorly on God.

“I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints,

The sinners are much more fun. You know that only the good die young.”

God doesn’t laugh? He spends His time crying and being a killjoy? Who told Billy Joel that? We did.

As the church, we have a lot of work to do. We need to finish the painting of God’s goodness. It’s OK to put a smile on the face of Jesus because He really is good!

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO CHANGE THE WAY PEOPLE THINK ABOUT GOD AND THE CHURCH. PAINT A PORTRAIT OF HIS GOODNESS THROUGH YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS.

FIGHT FOR THE KING’S HEART

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in Jesus’ name that I will fight to know Your heart today, Lord. I want to know what You love, what You hate; what You think and what You say. I will fight to know the treasures in Your heart because You fight to know mine.

FIGHT FOR THE KING’S HEART

The passionate heart of our King will never be satisfied with mediocre. When you fight for the heart of the King, you fight for greatness within your own life.

Jesus did not live and die on this earth for you and I to live defeated, insignificant lives – to attend church on Sundays and maybe a Bible study during the week and never let the Word change us or His presence permeate us.

He would love us and treat us like kings if that was all we did, but that was not His mission.

It turns out, the Christian life is not a vacation. It is a battle for the heart of the King to be made manifest in your life. I want to encourage you to become who He has called you to be.

For many are called, but few are chosen.  – John 22:14

The masses are invited, but few people have actually accepted the call to move forward with God’s plan for their fullest potential. They need to grasp the Word His supernatural heart says to us: permission granted.

If we accept this calling and move forward, submitting and conforming our lives to the image of His plan, we no longer find ourselves in shameful places.

Instead of their shame, my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace, they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs. – Isaiah 61:7

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GO AFTER THE HEART OF THE KING AND FIGHT FOR THE GREATNESS HE HAS PLANNED FOR YOUR LIFE. ASK FOR AND EXPECT A DOUBLE PORTION!

I’M NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE PAIN

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in Jesus’ name that I know the Truth and He has set me free. I have a sound mind and refuse to partner with hell to bring disaster or disruption to my life through wrong thinking.

I’M NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE PAIN!

Several years ago, a young woman came into my office for marriage counseling. She didn’t bring her husband, which raised my eyebrow. After a few minutes of telling me how bad things were, she finally told me why she was really there: she was leaving her husband and said God wanted her to.

So I asked her why she felt God wanted her to get a divorce. Through tear-filled eyes she replied, “Because God doesn’t want me to have pain.”

As quick as I could, I retorted, “Who told you that?”

It was a good question because I’ll tell you who didn’t, and his name starts with a capital “J” and ends in “esus.” When we believe something that is just not true, God will challenge us by asking, “who told you that?”

Set the clock back about 6,000 years to the Garden of Eden. There we find two slack-jawed people with a problem.

Like a lot of young couples, they had gotten themselves into debt without a mode of payment. No, this was not about a credit card. This was about giving the Master charge over their lives and the penalty for disobedience was higher than either one of them could have imagined. No sooner had the deed been done than Adam and Eve were hiding, because Daddy was going to be home soon.

And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” So he said, “I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked and I hid myself.”
And he said, “Who told you that you were naked?” –Genesis 3:8-11

Any time God asks a question, it is not because He lacks the answer. He asks questions with the intent of bringing us to a conclusion. In Adams’s case, as with the young lady in my office, this question needs an answer: Who told you that? Who are you listening to?

When we’re forced to answer, we generally recognize the answer is, “not God.” Remember, it’s not the truth that sets you free. It’s knowing the truth, and until God forced Adam to own the answer, Adam’s healing would not begin.

Do you want your healing to begin?

ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM 4: Memory like an Elephant

Sunday, May 29, 2022

Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

There are lots of interesting idioms in the English language–sayings from region to region that people understand about their daily life.

Under the weatherThe ball is in your court He spilled the beans Going down in flames Don’t sit on the fence (the devil owns the fence)The best thing since sliced bread He eats like a birdThrough thick and thin Jump on the bandwagonMiss the boat

Cowboy idioms:

1. Ace in the Hole- A hideout; safe house, or a concealed gun. A back up plan. A hidden advantage

2. Baker’s Dozen- Reference to the number thirteen.

3. Pull In Your Horns- A warning to stop and back off.

4. That Dog Don’t Hunt- That argument or idea won’t work or come to fruition.

5. Yellow bellied.  You’re a coward.

6. He bit off more than he can chew.  He started something he couldn’t finish or handle the outcome

“Bite the dust”

Origin: Psalms 72:9 (KJV)  “They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.”

“Broken heart”

Origin: Psalms 34:18 (KJV) “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit”

“By the skin of your teeth”

Origin: Job 19:20 (KJV) “My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.”

“A drop in the bucket”

Origin: Isaiah 40:15 (ESV)“Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he takes up the isles as fine dust”

Fly in the ointment:

A fly in the ointment is a drawback or a downside.

“Before we go ahead with the proposal, we need to check carefully for any flies in the ointment.”

“Fly in the ointment”

Origin: Ecclesiastes 10:1 (ESV)“Dead flies make the perfumer’s ointment give off a stench; so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.”

“Lamb to the slaughter”

Origin: Jeremiah 11:19 (NIV)“I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me”

“Nothing but skin and bones”

Origin: Job 19:19-20 (NIV)“All my intimate friends detest me; those I love have turned against me. I am nothing but skin and bones;”

“At your wit’s end”

Origin: Psalm 107:27 (KJV)“They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.”

“The writing is on the wall” Daniel 5

“The straight and narrow”

Matthew 7:14 “Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

“Memory like an elephant” He never forgets

“They’re long-lived animals, and memory would be a benefit to a long-lived animal, making it more adaptive to circumstances.” – Scientific American

The elephant in the room has been a series on dealing with things that most people are not comfortable with and this Memorial Day weekend we are given the charge to

Honor by Remembering

Deuteronomy 8:11 “Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today,”

In communion, Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of me.”

Honoring God by what we remember and being watchful are qualities of Kingdom people in covenant with God.

One of the ways we finish well is we MARK VICTORY AND WE GIVE GOD GLORY FOR IT.

WE PARTNER WITH THE SPIRIT. HE HELPS US REMEMBER THE RIGHT THINGS.

John 14:26But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

Remembering the right things will motivate you to win battles.

Remembering the wrong things discourages you to the point of defeat.

King David is famous for saying

Psalms 20:7Some trust in chariots and some in horses but we will remember the name of the lord our God.

Horses are all about the strength of man and chariots are man’s clever inventions–his weapons of war. These are not mighty to save you. David is saying, “All I need for certain deliverance is to remember the name of the Lord.”

“How I know God personally”

God is such an awesome God that He can choose what He remembers and He can choose what He will never remember again.

He is world-famous for His “sea of forgetfulness” because He chooses to remember His love for us and His covenant with us more than He remembers how we have wronged Him.

I will not forget

God is like that.

He will not forget you. He will not leave you. He will not forsake you.

Genesis 9:16And the bow shall be in the cloud that I may remember the everlasting covenant… (a bow of strength)

Even the thief on the Cross turned to Jesus and said, “Remember me, Lord, when you enter into your kingdom.”

Since God refuses to remember what we have done against Him and He refuses to forget how much He loves us, we should be people who refuse to forget.

“Remember” is in the King James Bible 148 times.

attached to it

DON’T FORGET. DON’T FORGET. DON’T FORGET.

Let’s look at a few of these today.

THERE IS A KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF REMEMBERING

Remember certain things causes certain things to happen.

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF REMEMBERING: The promises God has given you

(this list will keep you in times of trouble)

Galatians 4:28

In Galatians 4:28, you and I are called “Children of promise.”

Psalms 27:13 – I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

Start off by doing a Google search on scriptures on God’s promises. Then begin to seek the Lord and ask Him to help you know His specific Promises for you personally.

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE WITH HOPE YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE WITH THE CONSTANT MEMORY OF THE PROMISES GOD HAS GIVEN YOU

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF REMEMBERING: The miracles God has done in your life

(This list will keep you trusting God)

God Almighty warned the people of Israel, “Do not forget the miracles that I did for you. Don’t forget how I brought you out of Egypt. Don’t forget. You have good reason to trust me.

I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. Psalms 77:11

For thy testimonies are my meditation.                                                                                                                           Psalms 119:99

IF YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE YOUR LIFE TRUSTING GOD, YOU ARE GOING TO REMEMBER HOW GOD HAS DELIVERED YOU OVER AND OVER AGAIN

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF REMEMBERING: The privileges and things you love about your life

(This list will keep you thankful)

John 1:16, NLT From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.

IF YOU DON’T HAVE A LONG LIST OF WHAT YOU ARE THANKFUL FOR, YOU HAVE A LONG LIST OF WHAT YOU GRIPE ABOUT .

Remembering how blessed you are will cause you to be thankful.

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF REMEMBERING: The prayers God has answered in your life

(This list will keep you praying)

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Psalm 145:18

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF REMEMBERING: The people God has placed in your life

(This list will keep you relational)

Rick Warren writes in The Purpose Driven Life, “I have been at the bedside of many people in their final moments, when they stand on the edge of eternity, and I have never heard anyone say, ‘Bring me my diplomas! I want to look at them one more time. Show me my awards, my medals, that gold watch I was given.’ When life on earth is ending, people don’t surround themselves with objects. What we want around us is people – people we love and have relationships with. In our final moments we all realize that relationships are what life is all about.”

Philippians 1:3-4,  I thank God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy.

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF REMEMBERING: Galatians 2:10  Remember the poor.

(This list will keep you humble and keep you effective in the Kingdom)

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE OF REMEMBERING: 2 Timothy 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ is raised from the dead.

REMEMBER THAT life has slapped death in the face.

Remember that JESUS “called The Shot” and prophesied that on the third day, He would rise again. Remember that for those of us who are in Christ, death has no sting and the grave has no victory.

Remember that  Jesus didn’t just raise from the dead for Him. He is risen for all of us believers for all time.

This is what I remember when I am facing my own mortality.

This is what I think of when I begin to feel overwhelmed.

I will remember that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead.

And when I remember that Jesus is raised from the dead, I remember that nothing is impossible.

REMEMBERING AND BEING WATCHFUL QUALIFY US TO ESCAPE TERRIBLE THINGS AND ENTER INTO WONDERFUL THINGS.

Why? Because the culture of heaven is a culture of honor and stewarding what you remember is a vital part of honor and loyalty

Be loyal to King Jesus and remember the right things

UPGRADE IS NOT JUST FOR KINGS

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in Jesus’ name that Father God is good. He has so many good things stored up for me. When I see him, I find him. When I find him, I find my identity, purpose and destiny.

UPGRADE IS FOR NOT JUST FOR KINGS…

“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.” -Proverbs 25:2

OK, so you don’t have to be a king to have the honor of searching out God’s heart and His crazy cool plan for your life. Remember, upgrade is a good thing and just like the universe itself, God coded your DNA to be attracted to the “next level.” Yes, people are generally happy with anything related to improvement. We’re wired that way.

Just like at the end of each day of creation where the Word (Jesus – John 1:1) spoke the universe into existence, Genesis tells us He announced His pleasure despite it not being finished.

“…it is good.” – -Genesis 1:21

Yes, God Himself says your search for more of Him—for upgrade and a next level relationship with next level responsibilities and rewards—is GOOD despite being a work in progress! Think about this: just like the physical universe, your universe is still expanding. It is a good thing to move forward!

God is supernaturally creating wonderful things for you to step into, but He wants you to pursue His heart and partner with Him in His plan for you. He made this one of His highest honors — to crown those who search out the matter of upgrade in knowing Him.

TODAY IS A GREAT DAY TO SEARCH HIM OUT. TELL HIM YOU WANT MORE OF HIM AND THEN OPEN UP HIS WORD AND LOOK FOR HIM.

It is His GLORY to conceal it and your HONOR to go after it!

WHY MIRACLES HAPPEN IN PRISON

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in Jesus name that the smaller I get, the bigger You become in my life, Jesus. I lay down my pride and selfish desires. You have first place, Holy Spirit. I embrace the unconditional love of the Father and lay down my life to know Him more.

WHY MIRACLES HAPPEN IN PRISON

I like preaching in prison. Not only do you have the proverbial captive audience, but miracles break out when you preach God’s mercy to men and women who had no mercy on others. It’s about loving on those everyone hates and remembering people everybody wants to forget. That’s radical and that is Jesus!

Now, most of the church fails to recognize the revival that has been going on behind bars in this country. I’ve had several people tell me they doubt the sincerity of convicted drug lords, rapists, murderers and thieves as they receive Jesus. “Aren’t most of them just playing games?” they ask.

My response is that in all my years of ministry and pastoring, I’ve never been to a service yet where somebody wasn’t playing games. It doesn’t keep me from preaching on Sunday, so why would it keep my from sharing the Gospel in prison?

Because I understand this, I see there is a radical move of God going on in our prisons today. Why? The answer is in 1 Kings 19:11-12 when God reveals Himself to a dejected Elijah.

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a still small voice.

Still and small is not only a description of the way God speaks life into us, it describes the heart that hears the voice of God! Prison is a place were you are forced to become still. Your life is put on hold. You starve to have purpose. You have few choices and most of them are made by someone else.

Prison is also a place where you get small. No matter how tough you are, there are 10 guys tougher, and likely crazier, on each cell block. You are no longer the big dog.

And prison is a place of disappointment, shame and heartache. It is perfect for a move of God because it’s the first time they’ve truly been still and small. For the first time, they recognize the voice of the Lord. Their humility allows miracles to bust out.

What about you? You may not be behind literal bars, but are you incarcerated by your past, your addictions, your anger or your circumstances? Put your pride and arrogance aside. Get still. Get small. Let the Lord move your mountains and set you free.

MOVERS AND SHAKERS

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in Jesus’ name I need a fresh wind. I am stepping into a new season. You are the same yesterday, today and forever. Your love and leading will get me to my purpose and eternal destination!

MOVERS AND SHAKERS

The greatest threat to a new move of God is what you think of the last move of God. Did you embrace it so tightly you can’t move on to the new thing He is doing? It’s not about the method of how God moves. It is about God moving and we must be willing to follow Him forward however or wherever He chooses.

Look at all the different ways Jesus reached the people He came into contact with. From turning water into wine to attaching the ear of Malchus back to his head—from preaching to the crowds to visiting Zacheus at this house—from ordering out demons, to touching lepers and spitting on dirt to make clay that would open blind eyes, Jesus didn’t do things the same way every time!

He never used a single method to bring people into the Kingdom. Each method He used was right and very personal, though none of them was the only way to solve the problem. As Jesus’ resurrection would prove, you can’t keep Jesus nailed down or in a box!

In an exclusive interview with Nicodemus, a Pharisee who had experienced the spirit of religion most of his life, Jesus warned this high ranking religious authority that He uses creative methods to teach, heal and bring people into the Kingdom.

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” – John 3:8

Are you someone who has been told the spirit of religion is the only way to worship? That God no longer heals or works miracles? Are you realizing you have been keeping Jesus in a box and limiting His power or His love for those you don’t like? Today is a good day to break that spirit. Embrace the Holy Spirit and let Him teach you the power and personality of Jesus.

21 VICTIMS
God’s Strength Given with an Open Hand in Times of Distress
Blessings at End of Distress
There are 21 hidden sins brought out into the open for the last days. (2 Timothy 3:2-5)

22 DEAD INCLUDING SHOOTER: RIGHT NOW WORD!
22 as Personal Revelation & Light Made Manifest
Daniel 2:22 – He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.
There are 22 epistles in the New Testament – the New Revelation of Jesus as the Light of the World
There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet – every word is a revelation or light to mankind
There are 22 chapters in Revelation – revealing Jesus as the Mighty Warrior
“Light” is used 22 times in the Gospel of John.
The 22nd time is John 12:46 –“ I have come as the light of the world…”

22 ALSO SPEAKS OF GOD’S FRUITFULNESS MANDATE

Genesis 1:22 – Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Genesis 49:22 – “Joseph is a fruitful bough, A fruitful bough by a well; His branches run over the wall.”

ATTACK AGAINST OUR CHILDREN – PROMISE

Uvalde (honey – the Promised Land)
15,300 rough population of Uvalde – Number of fish in Peter’s net

TIME OF SHOOTING – 11:32 A.M.
John 11:32 – Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

WHERE WAS GOD? BETTER QUESTION IS “WHERE WAS MAN?”
God kicked out of schools: The U.S. Supreme Court declared school-sponsored prayers unconstitutional on June 25, 1962 – 60 years ago! UNCOVERED!!!

1132 STRONG’S CONCORDANCE – gumnotés: nakedness

Romans 8:35 – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

SUFFERINGS OF PAUL FOR THE GOSPEL
1 Corinthians 11:27 – in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness

Revelation 3:18 – I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

OTHER 11:32 VERSES

A WICKED GENERATION NEEDS TO REPENT OR BE JUDGED
Luke 11:32 – The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.

Romans 11:32 – For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

1 Corinthians 11:32 – But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

GENERATIONAL PROMISE OF PROMISED LAND FULFILLED
Deuteronomy 11:32 – And you shall be careful to observe all the statutes and judgments which I set before you today.

GENERATIONAL PROMISE BROKEN BY SOLOMON – KINGDOM IS SPLIT
1 Kings 11:32 – but he shall have one tribe for the sake of My servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel,

JESUS DEALT WITH THIS IN HIS DAY

Repent or Perish
Luke 13 (rebellion):1-5 – There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE. THE VICTIMS ARE NOT BEING JUDGED OR PUNISHED!

DOES GOD “ALLOW” BAD THINGS TO HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE? NO!

MAN HAS FREE WILL. OUR CHOICES AFFECT OTHERS, OFTEN IN TRAGIC WAYS.

WE GET CONSEQUENCES OF OUR ACTIONS AND ACTIONS OF OTHERS.

GOD IS IN CONTROL, ON THE THRONE AND PARTNERS WITH US FOR OUR GOOD. ARE YOU PARTNERING WITH GOD TO BRING HEAVEN TO EARTH INSTEAD OF HELL?

GOD IS GOOD. DO NOT CALL HIM EVIL.

Isaiah 5:20-21 (number of victims) – Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!

DATE OF SHOOTING – 5/24 – SPEAKS OF HIS SOVEREIGNTY

The Number 24 (12 x 2) – Twenty-four is 12×2, so it’s a witness of God’s perfect government.

There are 24 elders who circle the throne and 24,000 plus miles that circle the planet (24 time zones)

The 24 elders always fall down and worship because they see Him as King. Worship is associated with the number 24.

Twenty-four is also associated with priesthood as David distributed the priests among 24 descendants of Aaron. (1 Chronicles 24)

The numbers 12 and 24 are both associated with those people who follow the Lamb and worship the Savior.

DATE OF SHOOTING—5/24—ALSO SPEAKS TO MAN’S FALLEN STATE & THE DAY WE ARE LIVING IN:
524 STRONG’S CONCORDANCE – apalgeó: to cease to feel pain for; become callous; being past feeling or having cast off all feeling

DANGERS OF FUTILE THINKING
Ephesians 4:17-19 – This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

WHAT MAN WILL BE LIKE IN END DAYS
Matthew 24:12 – And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

The word “savior” is found in the Bible exactly 24 times. GOOD OVERCOMES EVIL!

EXPERIENCING GOODNESS & HIS PRESENCE

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare I want more of you, Jesus! I will taste and experience you in a new way. Crush the head of the enemy as your presence envelopes me. Good will overcome evil in my life!

EXPERIENCING GOODNESS AND HIS PRESENCE

There is something miraculous that happens in the mess—often the tragedy—of this life. Through all the hurt, through all the discomfort and the ongoing, unfinished business of dreams unfulfilled, you will personally experience God’s presence.

It’s not something you read about, hope for or hear about in church. You actually experience His goodness. I can tell you this – it’s tangible! Check out this amazing scripture:

O taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! – Psalms 34:8

You see, when evil comes against us and we have to take refuge, the blessing is that we taste the goodness of God. This is not naturally speaking. It is practically speaking. Our ability to know and experience Jesus just got a major upgrade! Tasting is all about supernatural, personal experience and unique encounter.

Tasters are people who first note the circumstances in which God turned up in the battle and they appreciate it. Tasters learn to set environments and make a big deal out of setting them. They like the romance and intimacy of a personal experience with the Lord.

In the natural, our tastebuds detect sweet, sour, salty and bitter. Each of these has a spiritual counterpart.

Sweet: It’s the part of the Holy Spirit we really appreciate and hope for. They are pleasing to all.

Sour: Represents strong experiences that are not easy to take or digest. You have to develop a taste for sour.

Salty: This is all about enhancement of flavor. It intensifies personal encounters with God and actually leaves you thirsty for more of His goodness.

Bitter: Is a legitimate part of our experience with God. We don’t like it, but it is necessary to our development.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO TASTE THE GOODNESS OF GOD. PERSONALLY EXPERIENCE HIM BY BITING INTO A MESS. GOD HAS GIVEN YOU THE POWER TO CHEW THE DEVIL UP AND SPIT HIM OUT!
