OF GOODNESS AND GRAVITY
I declare in the name of Jesus I will lift my hands to Heaven and worship Him in the midst of the madness. I will speak of His goodness and wonders manifested through my life. I am a witness of His goodness to a dying world.
OF GOODNESS AND GRAVITYI think a lot of God’s goodness skips off us the way a meteor deflects off our atmosphere. We go on to the next thing without any kind of dedication to contemplation or meditation. It’s business as usual.
Instead of thinking God thoughts, we worry and swat at anxiety with all our mental muscle. Worry, however, is a trap. Worry is about the future. As God is eternal, He is already in the future, so there’s no need to worry. It just becomes another distraction from the goodness that passes before us throughout our day.
In my experience, the gravity pull of our broken hearts will bring God’s goodness screaming into our day, lighting up our sky and illuminating the darkness we find ourselves in. When that happens, the impact is thunderous and completely alters the geography of our lives.
This is called transformation, and transformation begins with goodness. If we want to move to higher levels of encounter with Jesus, we must learn to recognize God’s goodness, no matter how small or brief, throughout our day.
Be a magnet for good! Look for it. Demonstrate it. Sing of it and pass it along!
I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, And my spirit makes diligent search. – Psalm 77:6

A TALE OF TWO ENEMIES
I declare in Jesus’ name holding a grudge is the poison you drink every day hoping it will make your enemy sick. I am putting the poison down. I forgive those who spitefully used, abused and accused me. Bitterness and past hurts will not define me as I go after the healing and restoration of my enemies.
A TALE OF TWO ENEMIESIt was Dec. 7, 1941. The time was 7:49 a.m. Commander Mitsuo Fuchida was leading a squadron of 360 Japanese fighters over Pearl Harbor.
Seeing the entire American Pacific fleet peacefully anchored 9,000 feet below, Fuchida radioed the Japanese fleet. “Tora! Tora! Tora!” The attack on Pearl Harbor had begun.
The surprise attack left five destroyed battleships and 14 others either sunk or damaged. While it was a great day for Fuchida, it was the last day for 2,300 Americans. A day, one might say, of infamy.
Back in Oregon, Sergeant Jacob DeShazer was peeling potatoes when the news hit. Shaken by Pearl Harbor, he volunteered for a special mission led by Col. Jimmy Doolittle. This top secret mission would dare to directly bomb the heart of now hated Japan – Tokyo.
Although DeShazer and those who signed up for Doolittle’s Raid knew this was probably a one-way mission – they likely wouldn’t have enough fuel to make it to mainland China – they knew America badly needed a win.
Doolittle’s Raid was a stunning success, and DeShazer’s B-24 bomber did run out of fuel. He bailed out over Japanese controlled territory and spent the next 40 months as a prisoner of war routinely tortured by his captors.
He watched dozens of other POWs be beaten, beheaded or starved to death, yet DeShazer lived. With plenty of time in-between beatings to chew on the subject of hatred, he found himself desperate to know God. He asked his captors for a Bible.
While DeShazer clung to life, Fuchida was celebrated as a hero and seemed to be fated to live. In 1942, he came down with appendicitis and was unable to fly. The battle he missed, Midway, where the Japanese were soundly defeated, probably saved his life.
A few years later, Fuchida missed the grim reaper again when he was ordered to leave Hiroshima the day before America dropped its first nuclear bomb. His hatred for America grew just as DeShazer’s hatred for him and the Japanese would diminish.
You see, DeShazer finally got that Bible he had begged for. He truly met God as his eyes fell upon the words of Jesus on the cross, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” Emaciated and barely holding on, DeShazer gained strength and purpose by deciding to love his enemies.
“I prayed for God to forgive my torturers, and I determined by the aid of Christ, to do my best to acquaint these people with the message of salvation,” he said.
Eventually, the war ended and DeShazer was released. He came home to America, but didn’t stay long. He couldn’t. He had to go back to Japan and take the love and forgiveness of Jesus to a lost and hurting people.
After the war, Fuchida became embittered. His stunning victory made no difference. His beloved Japan was not only in ruins, it’s military was dismantled. He became a farmer and in 1948, was getting on a train in Tokyo when he saw an American handing out leaflets written in Japanese. They said, “I WAS A PRISONER OF JAPAN.”
He grabbed one and began reading. He was especially hit by the part about Pearl Harbor and the man’s part in the Doolittle Raid. Fuchida could not put the leaflet down. Who is this Jesus? What is Christianity? He wanted to know more. Miraculously, a few days later, on the same train platform, a man was giving out Bibles written in Japanese!
He got one and opened it to the same words that transformed DeShazer all those years before. “Father, forgive them for the know not what they do.”
“I was impressed that I was certainly one of those for whom Jesus had prayed. The many men I had killed had been slaughtered in the name of patriotism, for I did not understand the love of Christ,” Fuchida wrote.
The two men became friends and Fuchida, the man who bombed Pearl Harbor, became an evangelist spreading the Good News around the globe.
Redemption is a beautiful thing. Remember this – Good Friday is only good because of the one being executed on the cross. He is good and still leads men to repentance today!
Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots. – Luke 23:34

WINNING THE WAR BETWEEN YOUR EARS
I declare in the name of Jesus I renounce my “stinkin’ thinkin’.” I will fight this with positive declarations, and know that God is the author of them. God loves me and I will replace worldly thoughts with God thoughts. I will prophesy only good things!
WINNING THE WAR BETWEEN YOUR EARSThere should be a lot more going on between your two ears than random thoughts and memories. You should be making a strategic plan of action about thinking patterns that will cause you to prosper.
Need an example? Look at Switzerland. Politically known for its stand as a neutral nation during wartime, it is thought by most to be a haven for pansies, political correctness and socialist laws. You’d think Switzerland is full of gun-free zones, but it’s not.
Every adult male in Switzerland is issued a military stock assault rifle and a bunch of ammunition by the government. Shooting ranges dot the countryside and, because of that, some of the best marksmen in the world are Swiss.
Yes, you heard me – every home in Switzerland has at least one assault rifle put there by the government. So, what’s my point?
Switzerland is a nation that loves peace, yet it is armed to the teeth. That nation exists in a constant state of readiness because if understands this principle: the nation that experiences the deepest peace is the nation most prepared for war!
It’s the same way with you. If you really want peace in your mind, you need to be mentally and spiritually locked and loaded! You have to accept the fact that war is inevitable.
The enemy takes unprepared Christians into a headlock and slams them into demonically controlled thinking patterns. A Christian not in a constant state of readiness makes an easy target for the devil. All it takes is one dark, demonic thought to send you down a long road of pain and suffering.
Are you ready for the attack? Armor up!
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. – Ephesians 6:13

A VALUE FOR LIVING
I declare in Jesus’ name I am done with shame. It does not belong to me. I give it to King Jesus in exchange for the belt of Truth. His wrap-around presence tells me who I am.
A VALUE FOR LIVINGDo you want a closer walk with God and a clear path to your Kingdom purpose? Know this: your value for self preservation is actually the enemy of your upgrade.
What?!? You heard me. Your need to survive is in direct contrast to your need to live. And no, living and surviving are not the same thing!
If you have a huge focus on survival, you will never move forward. Your fear of failure and love of comfort and the status quo, will hold you back. How do you deal with a fear of failure?
You must have a higher value for living your life than for protecting it. Jesus said it this way:
Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on…” – Luke 12:22
He is not saying don’t make a plan or don’t take responsibility for your life. What Jesus is saying is don’t live your life as a survivor!
You see, we need to have a higher value for overcoming than we have for surviving. You are not called “more than a survivor,” or “joint survivors with Jesus.” Your heavenly Father calls you a warrior and an overcomer.

MARKED FOR LIFE
I declare in Jesus’ name that I have a purpose for the Kingdom. I am marked as a child of God. My assignment and identity are God-breathed. I will fulfill all He made me for and will bring a mighty harvest into heaven.
MARKED FOR LIFEAbout 2,600 years ago, there lived an inconspicuous young man. He was the son of Israel’s high priest – a preacher’s kid, and like most PKs, his plan for his life didn’t include the ministry. God showed up and changed that plan in a very big way.
While young Jeremiah’s daddy was famous in his generation, Jeremiah would be one of the most famous preachers who ever lived. His ministry was so powerful, we are still reading his words today.
The reason I bring him up is because, at the beginning of the book of Jeremiah, he records something you just have to read:
Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:4-5
Here is God introducing Himself to this young man and making him an offer he can’t refuse. He essentially says, “Don’t you try to tell me who you are not. Let me tell you who you are! You are mine and I’ll prove it!” God then points out two pieces of evidence.
1. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. That means that before there was ever a plan on earth for the making of Jeremiah, there was a plan in heaven for what he would do and an identity for who he would be. God took the formation of Jeremiah very personally, just as he does your child. Know this: God knows your child this same way.
2. Before you were born I sanctified you. To sanctify something means to mark it. God put something on him, that all the days of Jeremiah’s life, he would be set apart from the rest of the world – holiness. Holiness literally means to be set apart for God. Jeremiah wouldn’t be able to interpret it at first, but any time he wandered from God, he would feel it. He would yearn for God.
Moses did. He woke up one day after 40 years of living with the devil himself and realized he was on the wrong team. He knew his identity was not with Egypt, but with the Hebrew slaves.
The same thing happened to you, didn’t it? While you were in the world getting drunk, high, prideful or defeated, there was something inside you that said, “I was not marked for this.”
You can trust God that while your child was being formed, He marked your baby so that, sooner or later, one way or another, Jesus was going to win that precious life. Count on it. Prepare and pray for it.
“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;” – Deuteronomy 7:9

HOLD ON TIGHT!
I declare in Jesus that today I will persevere in goodness toward others. Even if they speak against me, I know who I am in Christ. I will rise above the fray. I will rescue POWs from behind enemy lines.
HOLD ON TIGHT!With mobs rising and good being mistaken as evil, you had better hold on tight to the Word of God in these confusing days.
Test the mettle of everything you hear. Why? Just because something is considered good, does not make it godly.
In these final days, you will be challenged to believe that life is death and death is life. You will be tempted more than any generation in history to give up on goodness. You must be prepared to throw out the supernatural bastard of evil and hold on to the legitimate sonship of Jesus Christ, and His ultimate goodness!
But test everything; hold fast to what is good. – 1 Thessalonians 5:21
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. – Romans 12:9
Do you see that loving good goes hand in hand with loving truth? If you do not hold on to what is true and genuine, you will not hold on to what is good. You will let go of it for your own selfish, destructive ambition.
You see, truth and goodness are so attached, we are commanded to think about both!
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. – Philippians 4:8
Want to recognize the Godly from the so-called good? Think on the good things listed above. Test the mettle of whether it’s true, noble, right or pure. If it’s not, it’s not of God.
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness. – Isaiah 5:20

TPL – Five Traits of a Good Finisher

The hope and future that God gives us in fact, an expected end. That’s why Jeremiah 29:11 is sometimes translated as hope and sometimes as expected end.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”
Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end
God wants you to expect and have great hope for where your life will end up and when you start thinking about that, you start thinking about the legacy you leave behind you.
You were born not just to make it but to make a way for others to make it.
Further proof that transatlantic travel and communication existed in the Bronze Age, in the middle of the second millennium B.C., during the time of David and Solomon, and before, comes to us from South America.
In 1872 a slave belonging of Joaquim Alves de Costa, found a broken stone tablet in the tropical rain forests of Brazil’s Paraiba state. Baffled by the strange markings on the stone, Costa’s son, who was a draftsman, made a copy of it and sent it to the Brazilian Emperor’s Council of State. The stone came to the attention of Ladislau Netto, director of the national museum. He was convinced of the inscription’s autthenticity and made a crude translation of it. Contemporary scholars scoffed. The very thought of Phoenicians reaching Brazil thousands of years before Columbus was viewed with disdain. Few scholars took the stone at all seriously.
In 1966, Dr. Jules Piccus, professor of romance languages at the University of Massachusetts, bought an old scrapbook at a rummage sale containing a letter written by Netto in 1874, which contained his translations of the markings on the stone and a tracing of the original copy he had received from Costa’s son. Intrigued, Dr. Piccus brought the material to the attention of Cyrus H. Gordon. Dr. Gordon, the head of the Department of Mediterranean Studies at Brandeis and an expert in ancient Semitic languages, as well as author of some 13 books, was amazed. He compared the Paraiba inscription with the latest work on Phoenician writings. He discovered that it contained nuances and quirks of Phoenician style that could not have been known to a 19th century forger. The writings had to be genuine!
Gordon translated the inscription as follows: “We are Sidonian Canaanites from the city of the Mercantile King. We were cast up on this distant shore, a land of mountains. We sacrificed a youth to the celestial gods and goddesses in the nineteenth year of our mighty King Hiram and embarked from Ezion-geber into the Red Sea. We voyaged with ten ships and were at sea together for two years around Africa. Then we were separated by the hand of Baal and were no longer with our companions. So we have come here, twelve men and three women, into New Shore. Am I, the Admiral, a man who would flee? Nay! May the celestial gods and goddesses favor us well!”
The Navy of King Solomon
Cyrus Gordon believes the king mentioned in the script can be identified as Hiram III who reigned 553-533 B.C. The inscription seems to verify an unusual statement found in the Old Testament. An ancient Biblical chronicler wrote:
1 Kings 9:26-28 – “And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom. And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon. And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon”
Jews were here
Africans were here
Vikings were here
You were born not just to make it, but to make a way for others to make it.
All of this forward living is not just about you. Promised land living is a constant awareness of destiny, legacy and leaving a heritage of forward momentum for others to build on and follow behind. Like Jesus, we have become builders and carpenters.
YOUR LIFE SHOULD CONSTANTLY BE A CONSTRUCTION SITE. THE ONE WITH THE BLUEPRINTS AND THE HAMMER IN HIS HAND IS GOD HIMSELF.
Hebrews 11:10 – For he looked for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
We have to contemplate and chew on this notion, years before we get there.
You are going to fight and push and run and overcome and build and achieve and declare and pursue and some day, some day not too very long from this very moment, you will finish your race.
Now don’t start freaking out, you need to know how this works. For you to walk in the power of God, He requires you to live in the paradox of complete awareness of your eternity and your short time here.
Neither should surprise you.
When you get ready for your big finish, I hope like Paul, that you will be able to look back at your fight for forward and say, “Man, I fought a good fight.”
2 Timothy 4:6-8 – For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Take a look at this very familiar place in the bible.
Notice How Paul was thinking not only about himself, at the end of his life, but for all who long for the appearing of Jesus.
Now notice that Paul fought a good fight and a good fight is one that you win.
Once your head has really gone there, let it sink in that this text is all about Paul’s big finish.
Paul finished well. Paul knew his finish was a good one before he died.
Not Everybody can say that. Paul could say it with confidence because it had been his intention for decades before. He worked hard towards it and he reaped what he sowed. He was determined to finish well way before he finished.
Thirteen years before his big finish, Paul wrote these words to his friends at Corinth and I paraphrase.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (PTV) – I am serious about finishing well in my Christian ministry. I discipline myself for fear that after challenging others into the Christian life I myself might become a casualty.
Paul was like, “Look, Im not going to be a world changer and then collapse at the end of this thing.”
He actually disciplined Himself toward a predetermined big finish. When Paul lived life forward it wasn’t just to get to heaven, it was to bring heaven to earth and he wanted a grand finale.
Characteristic 1: They maintain a personal vibrant relationship with God right up to the end.
Example: Daniel is the classic O.T. leader who exemplifies this. In the N.T., Peter, Paul and John all demonstrate this. See their last writings—the tone, the touch with God, the revelation from God, their trust
in enabling grace for their lives.
Characteristic 2: They maintain a learning posture and can learn from various kinds of sources—life especially.
This characteristic is also one of the enhancement factors for finishing well.
Example: Daniel is the classic O.T. leader who exemplifies this. See Daniel chapter nine for a late in life illustration of one who continues to study and learn from the Scriptures. Paul and Peter are the classic N.T. leaders with a learning posture (see
(Peter)
2 Peter 3:17 – You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
(Paul)
2 Timothy 4:13 – Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come—and the books, especially the parchments.
Characteristic 3: They manifest Christ-likeness in character as evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit in their lives.
Example: Daniel is the classic O.T. leader who exemplifies godliness (See the summary references to him in Eze 14:14,20). In the N.T. note the evidence of character transformation in Paul’s life (2Ti 2:24 and an illustration of it—the book of Phm). These were men who over a lifetime moved from strong personalities with roughness in their leadership styles to strong personalities with gentleness in their
leadership styles.
Characteristic 4: They leave behind one or more ultimate contributions.
what is your unique discovery that everybody starts doing behind you? In a study on legacies left behind by effective leaders who finished well I have identified the following categories:
Characteristic 5: They walk with a growing awareness of a sense of destiny and see some or all of it
fulfilled.
They grow in an inner conviction arising from an experience or a series of experiences in which there is a growing sense of awareness that God has His hand on a
leader in a special way for special purposes.
Over a lifetime a leader is prepared by God for a destiny, receives guidance toward that destiny, and increasingly completes that destiny. No Biblical leader who accomplished much for God failed to have a sense of destiny, one that usually grew over his/her lifetime.
Examples: Joseph’s dreams and his saving of the embryonic nation; Moses’ saving of the nation; Paul’s vision to take the Gospel to the Gentiles.

PULL YOUR PANTS UP!
I declare in Jesus’ name, today I will immerse myself in the truth of God’s Word. Jesus is both the Truth and the Word. I proclaim and declare the Lord’s goodness over myself and my house. I am a warrior!
PULL YOUR PANTS UP!I love to read about the Full Armor of God in Ephesians chapter 6. As a true Texan and warrior for Jesus, the armor not only has deep meaning for me, it is a motivation to go after Kingdom upgrade and advance the Gospel.
Though we like to talk about the sword, the shield, helmet and breastplate, there’s not a lot of talk about the piece of the armor that may just be the most important – the Belt of Truth.
The reason truth is seen as a belt in this scripture is because truth is what holds all your armor together under pressure. Surprisingly, God says the belt of truth is the first piece of armor you put on and that you should “gird your loins” with it.
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; –1 Peter 1:13
Remember, the Bible tells you that your loins are between your ears.
See, the mind is a reproductive organ. What you think becomes your words, attitudes and actions. If you are fearful, you will reproduce fear in all you say and do to the detriment of others. If you think about your past, your failures, or the enemies surrounding you, you will reproduce those things in your life.
Truth has everything to do with your mind. If you’re going to armor up, God says truth is the way to hold yourself together when the battle for your mind heats up.
What truth is that? First, the truth of scripture – that Jesus is God, He became a man, died for your sins and rose again to give you a place at His Father’s family table. Second, the truth of who you are to God – His beloved child, a warrior who need not fear because no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper.
For that to happen, you must hold your thought life together with the belt of truth. And remember, facts and truth are different. Facts are temporary. Truth is eternal and never changes.
It may be a fact that your spouse left you, but it’s the truth that God knows who you are and what you are worth. The nightly news gives you the facts, as does the doctor after a checkup. However, only the Holy Spirit gives you the truth.
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. – John 16:13

THE LIE OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS
I declare in the name of Jesus I speak Truth. Truth has a name and it is “Jesus.” I speak what He speaks and prophesy identity, purpose and destiny into the lost, hurting and rebellious. His word never fails!
THE LIE OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESSThe Lord has a holy hatred for the portrayal of His glory as something shameful. That’s why some of the biggest warnings in the Bible tell us to be super careful that we don’t call evil “good” and good “evil.”
“How long, O you sons of men, will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness and seek falsehood?” – Psalm 4:2-3
You don’t call worthless things glorious and shameful things wonderful without God saying, “Really?” If you have no value for what’s real, if you have no value for the truth, you will lose your value for what is good.
Be on guard in these final days, because under the disguise of political correctness, good is being called evil more and more.
Today, the world calls women becoming men and men becoming women “good.” It believes that no matter what sex a person is, they should choose the bathroom they identify with, and that killing an unborn baby is a “choice,” a right and a freedom. This is “good” in the world of political correctness where all should be equal. The world will tell you that to disagree is evil, unloving and ultimately, un-Christian.
Why? They will tell you that Jesus wanted all to be equal, therefore they are doing what Jesus would do. Baloney!
Here on earth, we are not created equal. Some are beautiful, some are not. Some are talented, others are not. Some are born to wealthy families or in successful nations, others are not. I have news for you if you are going to survive the onslaught of political correctness: LIFE IS NOT FAIR!
Read the Psalms. They are a testimony to how unfair this fallen world really is. Do not fall for the PC line that says what once was good is now evil because we have to make things fair or equal here on earth.
The only place where things are fair, equal and right is in Heaven when we become like Christ. Until then, keep testifying to a dying world that Jesus is the answer. Continue to present the truth no matter how many times you are called “evil” or “shameful.”
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. – Romans 1:24-25
