LACE UP YOUR NIKES!
I declare in the name of Jesus I am called to battle my past. I put my history to rest and today pursue my destiny. He is calling me to better and higher things. My future is greater than my past!
LACE UP YOUR NIKES!What is an overcomer? The Greek word “nikao” gives some insight. It means “one who prevails, conquers and wins victory over one’s opponents.” Nikao also means “to surmount difficulties.”
Shoe giant Nike understood this when they named their company after the word nikao.
So when you and I say we’re overcomers, we are saying we strive to prevail and stomp on the difficulties that come our way. We strive to uproot, unhinge and displace the enemy wherever we encounter it.
As an overcomer, you should have a huge value for this: you should love it when God – not you – wins the victory and gets the credit. When you do this, you live dedicated to seeing heaven invade earth.
“Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world.” – 1 John 5:4
If you are born of God, overcoming is your only option! In 2 Samuel 23:20, Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, jumped down into a pit and took on a lion on a snowy day because he had no option to walk past it! He overcame that challenge and we are still talking about it 3,000 years later.
“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:21
So God is inviting you, heck, He expects you to lace up your Nikes and get to work displacing evil with good, darkness with light. It’s your legacy to be an overcomer!

GOD FORSAKEN
I declare in Jesus’ name, God is taking me to a new level in my thought life. I am free from the bondage that keeps me tied to wrong thought patterns. I trust God for my deliverance!
GOD FORSAKENDo you realize that one of the ways people forsake God is mentally?
Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. – Isaiah 55:7-8
Did you know God asks us to return to Him in our thoughts?
But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?” – Matthew 9:4
…and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” – 1 Corinthians 3:20
So you and I have to get a real revelation that our thoughts do take us into other places, and that God really does observe our thinking. Get this: He blesses or curses us accordingly. Yikes!
We need these truths settled within us before we can really start working on a lifestyle that knows how to “brain freeze,” or stop a destructive thought before it stirs our emotions and becomes an action. We have to halt ungodly thinking.
Let’s you and I make a conscience effort to have true holiness of mind because we want a mind that is acceptable unto the Father. It is our job to let the mind of Christ be and work within us.

RUN TO HIM
I declare in Jesus’ name God is speaking courage into me. I will move into my Promised Land and slay giants who try to keep me from advancing. No matter how loud it roars, I know God is bigger. I trust His plans for me.
RUN TO HIMIf you are going to get your upgrade and go to the next level, you cannot rebel against God in your wilderness experience – which is easy to do as the wilderness is hard! If you’re like me, you get tempted to run away from God.
Instead, you must run to Him!
The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. – Proverbs 18:10
You see, how you act in the wilderness determines if you spend 40 days like Jesus did, or 40 years, like Moses. It is really up to you!
It is so important we learn to live and be happy in God’s presence, because in the wilderness, the battle is about survival. In the Promised Land, it is about advancing.
The enemy of dreaming, of creativity and forward, is survival. God wants you to get through your wilderness so you can get past surviving and get on with thriving. To do this, the enemy must be displaced from the places God has given you as an inheritance.
Know this: that place of inheritance is in God’s amazing presence in the wilderness. It’s where He changes you from a helpless slave to an overcoming warrior.
So instead of learning how to protect yourself, God wants to teach you how to fight. To battle for His promises, His goodness, hearing His voice and for territory in which to glorify Him. He wants to make you dangerous to the enemy and willing to fight for more of Him.
Do you want to be a warrior? Learn to fight through prayer and by searching for the heart of the King of Kings. Run to Him!

WW: IN GOD’S TIMING? Hebrew Calendar Unveiled!

WHY DOES GOD SPEAK THROUGH THE HEBREW CALENDAR AND WHAT DOES HE SAY?
Elul is the 12th and final month in the Jewish calendar.
Elul connects the past year with the coming year.
It’s a time when the Jews reflect on where they stand and where they should be going.
“the month of repentance,” “the month of mercy” and “the month of forgiveness.”
Elul follows the two previous months of Tammuz and Av—months of tragedies that were brought upon the Jews as consequences of their sins.
In Tammuz, the Jews sinned with the golden calf; on Rosh Chodesh – the 1st of Elul – Moses ascended to Mount Sinai for a third 40-day period until Yom Kippur.
When he descended with the second tablets he also brought God’s word of joyful, wholehearted forgiveness & great mercy.
Designated as a time of mercy and forgiveness, an opportune time for repentance.
This is the month when “the King is in the field.”
IT’S A TIME TO WORK – WORK OUT YOUR SALVATION, REPENT & SEEK GOD FOR THE YEAR TO COME.
The four letters of the name Elul are an acronym for the phrase in “Song of Songs” (6:3): “I am to my beloved and my beloved is to me.”
“I am to my beloved”—we approach G‑d with a desire to return and connect.
“And my beloved is to me”—G‑d reciprocates with Divine expressions of mercy and forgiveness.
G‑d, the King of all Kings, is accessible. All can approach Him, and He shines His countenance to all.
ROSH HASHANAH (FEAST OF TRUMPETS) IS SUNDOWN SEPTEMBER 25 THROUGH THE 27TH – FIRST DAY OF THE JEWISH NEW YEAR – START OF 10 DAYS OF AWE WHICH ENDS ON YOM KIPPUR.
Psalms 81:4– “Blow the shofar at the moon’s renewal, at the time appointed (bakeseh) for our festive day.”
The word bakeseh also means “hidden.”
The Jews love that the timing of Rosh Hashanah is meant to be shrouded in secrecy. This is also one of the reasons why we do not bless the month of Tishrei on the Shabbat beforehand, and why Rosh Chodesh is barely alluded to in the entire Rosh Hashanah services.

IS THIS A PICTURE OF THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH?
THE BRIDE IN THE GALILEAN WEDDING FEAST SITS IN A CHAIR THAT IS ON POLES. THE GROOMSMEN LIFT HER UP – THEY CALL IT “THE CATCHING AWAY”– AND THEY LITERALLY “FLY” HER BACK TO THE FATHER’S HOUSE FOR THE WEDDING.

MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE
I declare in Jesus’ are that Father God is a covenant keeper so I will be the same. My ‘yes’ is ‘yes’ and my ‘no’ is ‘no.’ When I make a covenant, I keep it even if it requires some pain. I am a person of integrity just like my Abba.
MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCEIn this day and age, our children grow up really believing that marriage is a 50/50 proposition without any real understanding of true covenant.
They come of age, rent a tux, buy a gown and stand before somebody who will ask them some very serious questions.
Will you have this person to be your lawfully wedded? “I do,” they say to each other, and when they say that, they mean they do as long as there is something in it that is good for them.
Will you love and comfort, honor and keep each other in sickness and in health? “I do,” he says as long as she is who I think she should be and as long as she does what I think she should be doing.
Will you forsake all others and keep each other only as long as you both shall live? “I do,” she declares, as long as he makes me feel the way I should feel and as long as I am thrilled with being in love with this man.
And so they agree that this marriage will be a 50/50 endeavor, and when they find out that marriage requires 100/0, they say, “I don’t anymore!”
You see, they fail because they are driven by feelings and not by covenant. This doesn’t make them bad people. It just makes them guaranteed to fail!
So what is covenant? It’s the sold-out way of thinking that “all I have is yours and all you have is mine even if everything goes wrong.” Covenant is a “no matter what” mentality and it’s how God thinks.
He wants you to think that way too. Why? Because keeping your promises to God, yourself, your family and others produces integrity, character and reliability. All three of these are needed for a successful marriage partnership and real relationship with God.

RR: PHYSICAL BODIES IN HEAVEN? The Mystery of Skin & Light Revealed!

Body vs. Spirit & Skin vs. Light
In Genesis 3:21, Moses wrote that God made Adam and Eve garments of “skin” to replace the fig leaves they had wrapped themselves with. The Hebrew word for “skin” in this verse is pronounced ore (like “this one OR that one”).
Psalm 104:2
“The LORD wraps himself in light as with a garment.”
The actual clothing of God is “light.” The Hebrew word for “light” is also pronounced ore. Man was made in God’s image so Adam and Eve would have been similarly “clothed.”
אר “Ore” Strong’s Hebrew 216 – light (122 occurrences in OT)
ער “Ore” Strong’s Hebrew 5785 – skin (99 occurrences in OT)
The phonetic pronunciation of these two words are identical, yet they mean two very different things. Both words are spelled with a silent first letter (the aleph for “light” and the ayin for “skin) followed by the resh.
Many rabbis believe that Adam and Eve, being made in the image of God, went from being clothed in ore (light) to being clothed in ore (skin). Upon sinning, they exchanged a nature of light for a nature of flesh. See the play on words? Kinda poetic!
Genesis 3:7
“The eyes of [Adam and Eve] were opened, and they knew that they were naked.”
The Hebrew word for “knew” in this verse is yada. It means “to learn, to perceive, to have knowledge of.” Many rabbis interpret that this verse is saying Adam and Eve yada (learned) that they had just become naked, whereas they had beforehand been clothed in “light.”
Man, like God, was wrapped in light before the Fall. But, when sin entered the world, darkness followed and light was exchanged for skin/flesh, a nature opposite of God who is spirit (John 4:24).
By the sin of the first Adam we are naturally born as children of “flesh.” But through the death of the second Adam (Yeshua), we have the opportunity to be reborn as children of “light”:
1 Thessalonians 5:5 – You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
1 John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Furthermore, in Revelation 12, the virgin woman in the heavens (Israel in the natural, the Bride of Christ in the spiritual) is “clothed in the sun” or clothed in light. When we (THE BRIDE) are raptured, the word is clear that we will be taken up body and all, just like Elijah, Enoch and even Jesus.
Enoch and Elijah have skin on right now. I’m guessing they will be the two witnesses for that very reason.
Also, Jesus is in heaven with a body. He will have a body forever and bear the scars forever as PROOF of what He did to rescue mankind. No person, power or principality can argue with physical evidence. With that said, here is a great article on Jesus’ physical body in heaven that plays right into what we are discussing. How are our bodies in heaven different? They are transformed from being clothed in flesh to being clothed in light. Is the flesh still there AND it is wrapped in light? It is for Jesus and that’s good enough for me.
Perhaps the “dead in Christ shall raise” is all about bringing that body/skin into the heavenly realm as a testimony or “evidence” of what Jesus did for us and where we come from.
In eternity where time, space and matter “are no more” or have no hold over us, the body obviously has different properties.
Jesus has a physical body AND he walks through walls. He cooks and eats fish and people can literally touch him.
Also, the heavenly beings have bodies of some sort—eyes under their wings and all kinds of craziness.
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:2-4 that he was caught up into heaven “whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know.” He had a heavenly encounter just like many people today die and go to heaven, then come back (like Lazarus), and it didn’t matter to Paul at all whether his body went with him or not.
BODY OR NOT?
Reconciling 1 Thess 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:21-25 with 2 Corinthians 5:6,8 and Luke 23:43 (today you will be with me in paradise) takes a prophetic lens. You are thinking “either-or” when God is clearly saying it is both.
Yes, there are many, many OT verses that imply that “when we are dead we are dead. No talk of being with God when we are dead….” Remember, they did not have the resurrection yet. That came with Jesus. They lived under the law and death. We live under grace and life. God will reconcile that in heaven in a way only He can do and we will be amazed to see Him work out the salvation of these ancient people.
WE WILL KNOW EACH OTHER BY WHAT WE ARE WEARING IN HEAVEN. OUR “CLOTHES” OR “RAINMENT” WILL REFLECT OUR REWARDS.
1 Corinthians 15:39-42 – All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind [a]of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption.
INTERESTING EXTRA-BIBLICAL EXAMPLE:
2 Adam and Eve 22:8-9 – When Enoch had ended his commandments to them, God transported him from that mountain to the land of life, to the mansions of the righteous and of the chosen, the abode of Paradise of joy, in light that reaches up to heaven; light that is outside the light of this world; for it is the light of God, that fills the whole world, but which no place can contain. 9 Thus, because Enoch was in the light of God, he found himself out of the reach of death; until God would have him die.

A FATHER’S LOVE
I declare in Jesus’ name God uses all the circumstances in my life for good. He works all things for good, even the bad thing that happen. He does not cause the bad things, but He speaks through them and redeems them to give me victory over the enemy.
A FATHER’S LOVEOdds are, you’ve never heard of Titanic Thompson. He sailed through life as the greatest poker-playing, golf-gambling, horseshoe-hustling, skeet shooting, womanizing, hell raking con man of all time.
His skills as a card cheat got him invited to play poker with Al Capone. Yes, he cheated the legendary mobster and got away with it. His golf skills were good enough to shoot 29 on the back nine of Fort Worth’s Ridglea Country Club, where he beat Byron Nelson by one stroke. Harry Houdini studied him to find his secret to swindling people.
I could go on and on. Look the man up on the world wide waste of time. You will find him to be fascinating. Why do I know so much about Titanic? His son, Tommy Thomas, is a friend of mine.
Now Titanic married five times and had several abandoned offspring, Tommy included. Always hoping to someday impress his infamous dad, Tommy caught up with him in San Antonio and the pair racked up millions from unsuspecting wannabes. Was the money great? Sure. But that’s not what Tommy was after.
Tommy was looking for his father’s love. All he wanted was to hear the words, “I love you,” even if they were from a deeply flawed man like Titanic.
Well, Tommy did hear those words as Titanic was drawing some of his last breaths. While it was great, Tommy’s life was truly changed when he heard his Father God proclaim His undying love for the cheating son of a card shark.
Today, Tommy is a preacher telling everyone how to beat the odds in life – death – through salvation in Jesus Christ. Tommy knows the secret many of us long to understand: Whatever exploits you’ve lived, good or bad, they mean nothing compared to who you love and who loves you.
And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love, with him I am well pleased.” – Matthew 3:17

BAD CREDIT
I declare in the name of Jesus, God wants the glory, but He wants to give me the credit. It’s His way of showing off family resemblance. I am the apple of my heavenly Father’s eye and He loves it when I look and act like Him.
BAD CREDITIn the summer of 2000, our outreach team did an outreach in Cleburne we called the “Not Quite as Hot as Hell Street Outreach.”
It was well above 100 degrees and we were cooking hotdogs and hamburgers over a huge outdoor grill in a parking lot.
I had invited all the local pastors from every church in the area to help us lead people to Jesus, then plug into the body of Christ. Since our church was not based in Cleburne, I thought it was a good idea to get the local churches involved.
Three pastors showed up that day and none of them were there to help. It became immediately apparent they were really there to check out what we were doing. In their defense, they didn’t know us, so I can’t really blame them for not inviting their congregations to help us.
However, one of them said something I just can’t forget.
When I explained we were rounding up hundreds of people and I was expecting a lot of people to be saved after the concert, one of the pastors asked me a question and he was dead serious – emphasis on the word “dead.”
“If we help you pray with these people,” he said, wiping sweat from his brow, “who’s gonna get the credit?”
I looked back at him stunned and said, “Jesus, I hope.”
This is the perfect illustration of the lack of kingdom mentality even among pastors. That kind of ignorance would probably explain why that brother has a congregation of 15 people.
See, he wasn’t out there because he was happy we were reaching people for Jesus. He was worried we were invading his turf.
So before you go out in ministry, missions or outreach of any kind, ask yourself, “Who is going to get the credit?” Make sure the answer is not you, but Jesus.
“…or is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12

THE HOBBIT OF EVIL
I declare in Jesus’ name that as I wake up each day I seek His face for my nation. I pray for guidance, wisdom and humility to serve for our elected leaders. I commit to making my world better by seeking the One who created it.
THE HOBBIT OF EVILTake it from me, there is really nothing impressive about evil.
Pol Pot, Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin, Gadaffi, Sadam Hussein – they are all part of a long list of tyrants who’ve played demonic roles in history. In short, they are evidence that man’s basic condition is the same as it has always been.
The heart is desperately wicked; who can know it? – Jeremiah 17:12
Yes, man’s heart is still deceitful and in need of a savior. There is nothing impressive about that at all, is there?
From a kingdom perspective, which I hope you are growing in, evil is just something to be judged and executed. Jesus doesn’t want us to be impressed with it, or give it power through fearing it. Instead, He wants us to overcome it with good.
Take Idi Amin for example. We have two orphanages in Uganda, so I’m very aware of that nation’s recent history. The cruel muslim dictator overthrew the government and turned Uganda into a muslim nation despite only six percent of the population agreeing with him. His favorite target? Christians.
Amin set about exterminating Christians while the world watched and did nearly nothing. The torture chamber under his palace is notorious for the truly demonic ways he killed God’s children. Instead of oohing and aahing over his evil deeds, take a look at the result of his hatred and malice.
Despite Amin trying to stamp out Christians, his persecution caused the church to grow. Yes, the church in Uganda is thriving. People are being educated, fed and blessed in incredible ways because the Ugandan church has been a light in the midst of darkness to the rest of Africa.
As for you, what you meant for evil, God meant for good. – Genesis 50:20
It’s impressive how quickly goodness reigns over destruction because God is the master of turning things around for good. What’s truly impressive is the goodness of God in the life that is redeemed and set free. We should be impressed, stirred and just plain blown away by goodness.
