It's here, it's here, it's here!

Okay, okay, I'm calming down now. Really. But Small Town Summer: Nine Contemporary Romances is indeed...er...here. It will be out July 14, but is available for pre-order at all these places:

Barnes & Noble
Amazon
iBooks
kobo

In case you need a reminder, here's what you're getting:

And now, for the first time anywhere, here's the cover for my story in the set.

It's very pretty and I love the fonts and the porch. The people are pretty, too, but I gotta tell you, look nothing like Molly and Jo...

On the hunt

Where did all the mutts go?

Do you remember when you could get a puppy just by being in the right parking lot?

I remember going into a little pet shop to get my grandfather a pup for Father's Day and we were told that she, to be named Tiger, was half American Eskimo and half traveling salesman.

Not today. Or at least not in my neck of the woods.

Last month, we lost our beloved beagle, Mimi, to cancer. She was a little over ten years old. And she was Jordan's constant companion.

She is so mis...

Everybody Wants To Fly

A few weeks ago I learned there was a very unique 'holiday' - Elephant Appreciation Day. I love elephants for a lot of reasons. First, they are so gentle. Or, at least, they seem gentle. Kind of laid back...and second, they can definitely take care of business when the time comes. This picture is another reason I like elephants - they know how to have a good time.

As my brain does, when I learned it was Elephant Appreciation Day, I started thinking about zoos and then the circus which, of cour...

The end of a story...almost...maybe...

This is my grandson Eamon. He’s five, the youngest of the Magnificent Seven.
I’m sure you will remember simply because I’ve said it so often that when I retired I announced  I would make a bed-size quilt for each grandchild. This is his. Aren’t the colors pretty? His mother picked the fabrics and the quilt coordinates with—though does not match—his brother’s.

      &n...

Movie Talk

Tuesday was my first day off after a string of seven. I'm getting to old for this stuff!

Tuesday is also cheap movie day here in Vancouver so Jordan, Mike, and I went to see the colossal hit Jurassic World.

This has been the movie I've been looking forward to since I first heard about it. I love the first Jurassic Park, tolerate the second and *shrug* the third one.

The original follows the book more closely--while Crichton did write Lost World, it always felt like he wrote it as an obliga...

Do You Need Some Motivation?

It's a bright, sunshiney Wednesday morning here on the North Coast...this afternoon we'll be a sweltering 80-something with a ton of humidity. The kind of weather that makes you want to laze in the pool or stay in the A/C...unmotivated.

Every morning after a sleepover, bebe follows Holly (in-laws older dog) around the house, hoping she will play a little bit. Every morning Holly avoids bebe until she gets distracted by some other playtime options. I guess they're both motivated.

Each day I open...

Here's the Thing...

... some days, the words just aren't there. Today is one of those days for me... it's been one of those days for several days.
Confession? Today’s post is a hurry-up job that I’m only starting at 6:59 this morning, when normally, I’ve got my WW blog ready to go a few days in advance. I’d like to be clever or funny or wise, but I don’t think that’s going to happen this time. Honestly, the words simply aren’t here right now. Wranglers, it’s been a tough few days, full of raw and creativity-drai...

...I give to you and you give to me...

One of my least favorite parts of myself is that my tin ear is so completely...er...tin. I am surprised that earrings don’t adhere to my skin with rust when I wear them. Although I like music and the emotion I get from it, I don’t actually hear the notes or feelthe emotion of the performer. My husband was changing strings on his Alvarez guitar a few weeks ago and was aghast at hearing a dead spot—there were two or three notes that weren’t there. I hope I was properly sympathetic, b...
