Grocery shopping

Good morning! Yes, I know this is being posted on Monday morning, but it’s Saturday as I write it. I am very cheerful because it is soooo beautiful outside. It’s not very warm yet, but it’s getting there. And I’m kind of excited.
About going to the grocery store.
I’ve just come back from a writers’ retreat that was so much fun and wasexciting (and fattening, but we won’t go there), I’ve sent in some requested revisions, I’ve written the dedication for the out-in-July novella, and I’m excited a...

Getting Towered

A couple of weeks ago I read a book by Lani Diane Rich called The Fortune Quilt in which the main character gets "towered".

I'd never heard that term before but it comes from Tarot cards. If you get that card, big changes are coming into your life. Life-altering changes.

Towered?” “It’s a Tarot thing,” she says. “The Tower. It’s when life transitions. You know— rips out the stitches. Brings your tower down and makes you rebuild. Happens to all of us at one time or another. No worries.”

Rich, La...

REFLECTIONS OF A CLUTTERED MIND

Duane FlahertyMy apologies! What you are about to read is old, but I've run out of time today. I hope you don' t mind reading it again. And comment--please! I hope you have a great week, and I'll be back Monday with something...er...newer. The picture's my husband, just for you to look at. He's such a nice guy. Thanks for your patience. - Liz
I’m not a very attentive person. Well, I’m attentive, just not when and where I should be. I’ve said before that if I were in school now, I’d probably be...

#FridayReads: Jennifer Lawler

Hi, everyone! We are really excited to welcome Jennifer Lawler to WordWranglers today; Kristina has known Jennifer (and feels like she knows her daughter!) for almost three years...since she bought Kristina's first book, in fact! Jennifer is here to tell us about something close to her hear, and we'll let her take it from here.

Today (May 15) is Global Awareness Day for Tuberous Sclerosis, the disease my beautiful daughter Jessica has, and in connection with that I'm doing a fundraiser for the...

Dreaming...Take Two

I know I wrote about dreams last week, but I'm still kinda stuck on them. Because two things happened since then--both happened because of that post, I think.

The first one is that my sister, Debbie, who is two years younger than me shared that she has the same reoccurring dream about the same house that I do.

When she told me, we both started describing the house and the room together...and it is, in essence, the same room.  How weird is that?

So, did we actually happen upon this house wi...

#ChicLitMay ~ What's Your Playlist?

Yesterday, Nan mentioned writing rituals, and since this week I'm taking part in the Chick Lit May event, I thought I'd share a little of my writing ritual - my writing (actually revising/editing) playlist.

I know several writers who listen to a specific playlist from the start of a project all the way through edits. I don't do that. My writing process requires different types of music for different areas: when I'm drafting, it's light classical or jazz. No Muzak and no instrumentals of popula...
