Overcoming No

This week I found inspiration and guidance in the most unexpected place.

Author quotes are usually good for that, but this came from another media. TV. Specifically The Voice.

I'm a latecomer to the cultural phenomena that is The Voice. I started watching it last season when Gwen Stafani and Pharrell Williams joined the panel.

I love Pharrell--he has got to be the nicest guy in the music industry. Kind of what they say about Henry Winkler in the television world.

And he is so thoughtful and insig...

#WriterWednesday: Sharon Cullen

Hiya, WordWrangler Readers! We're opening up the Round Corral today to welcome Sharon Cullen .. Sharon's going to answer a few questions for us and then she's giving us a peek into her historical romance, Sebastian's Lady Spy. Here we go!

Liz: Are there any funny stories your family tells about you that come to mind?

Sharon: This was a tough one because there are so many stories I DON’T want to repeat :-) But whenever my mom and my aunt get together they always tell the story about when m...

The moonlight's still on the Wabash

I’m from Indiana. How’s that for starting out with a bang?          Our fair state has been in the news more the past few weeks than I ever remember it being before. Even when Bobby Knight threw a chair and Dan Quayle couldn’t spell potato and Bing Crosby stopped for lunch—or was it dinner?—in nearby Rochester, we weren’t so loudly or inaccurately reported on.

Karen Rock's Top Ten Books

I am so mean! When I asked fellow Heartwarming author Karen Rock to pay us a visit, I asked her to choose her favorite 10 books. It gets hard when you're doing a promotional blog tour to think up new things to write about, so I thought (insert smirk) I was making things easy for her. Not so much! But her list is great. Join the Wranglers in welcoming Karen Rock to the Corral today!

This could easily be the hardest post I’ve ever written!! I love so many books and to choose only ten seems...

Let’s Talk Settings!

The Wranglers are so happy to welcome author Jannine Gallant here today.

Write what you know. That’s the intro for my author profile and words I try to live by. I grew up in the coastal woods of Northern California and have lived most of my adult life in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I can’t imagine not being able to walk out my front door into the forest. Nothing is more beautiful than the sound of the wind blowing through the trees, the chirp of birds high overhead, the ch...

Carny Girl

I've had an idea for a book for years called Carny Girl. About a teenager who runs away from the carnival life. Only I've yet to sit down and figure out why she's running and who she's running to.

My local Barnes and Noble is in  plaza roundabout which also includes my place of employment.

Three days ago, the carnival arrived and began their set-up. They come to this particular parking lot about once a quarter or so--usually coinciding with school holidays. Imagine that.

I love carniv...

Who's Your Tribe?

I've been seeing this meme on Facebook and the other social networks for a couple of weeks now, and every time I see it it makes me smile. For the person who is posting it and for the people she is posting it for...and for me, too, because every time I see it I'm reminded that I'm not alone.

Writing is very solitary work, and that is why I'm glad I have my tribe, my group of online and in-person friends who draw me out of the writing cave...or sometimes come inside to dwell with me.

There are S...
