"For Weirdless Days and Weary Nights" in Breach #8
My horror short story, "For Weirdless Days and Weary Nights", is published in Breach magazine #8.
"Our 8th issue skews heavily to horror, covering a few different subgenres by some amazing writers. Deborah Sheldon (Contrition, Thylacines) starts things off with 'For Weirdless Days and Weary Nights', a dark tale about friends discovering an abandoned campsite. Jessica Nelson-Tyers and David Stevens follow with 'Hit and Rot' and 'Baby, Cold Outside', two stories that may make you think twice the next time you get in a car. Ferne Merrylees' mournful fantasy 'Garage Sale of Lost and Unwanted Things' offers a brief respite before William Cook's brutal 'Death Comes Calling'. Carlington Black's darkly comic 'The New Suit' pits two men against each other, while Sam M. Phillips goes to a bleak place in 'Twisted Labyrinth'. Here we have a brilliant collection of stories from across Australia and New Zealand, by new, emerging and established authors. And to top it off, regular contributor Claire Fitzpatrick shows off her art skills with her first Breach cover."

The Horror Tree review of my novella "Thylacines"
The Horror Tree is a resource for writers, offering submission information on all the latest horror anthologies and publishers. The Horror Tree also posts articles, news and interviews.
I'm thrilled with their five-star review of my bio-horror novella "Thylacines" (Severed Press).
The reviewer, UK author Alyson Faye, writes, "If you liked Jurassic Park or any other novels in that vein, you’ll go for this novella. It’s the equivalent of a B movie on steroids."
You can read the full review here:

So thrilled! Two of my short stories, "Angel hair" and "Species endangered", make Ellen Datlow's Honourable Mentions List 2017 for Best Horror of The Year volume 10.

Author interview with Clare Rhoden
Author Clare Rhoden interviews me about my latest release, the horror novel Contrition.
https://clarerhoden.com/2018/09/02/so...
The back-cover blurb of Contrition:
In her late teens, Meredith Berg-Olsen had all the makings of a runway model. Now in her late forties, after everything she had been through – including horrors that John could only guess at – she looked bloodless instead of pale, skeletal instead of slender, more dead than alive…
John Penrose has two secrets. One is the flatmate he keeps hidden from the world: his high-school sweetheart, Meredith. His other secret is the reason he feels compelled to look after her.
Contrition is a horror story with noir undertones and an atmosphere of mounting dread.
