Horror Tree review of Body Farm Z
A fabulous five-star review from the Horror Tree for my novel, Body Farm Z.
In part, reviewer Alyson Faye writes: "This is a zombie thriller which breaks a few of the genre’s tropes... Deborah Sheldon has written a fast moving, entertaining, high-octane adventure ride of a novel."

Out now: Guilty Pleasures and Other Dark Delights
Out now! The erotic horror anthology, Guilty Pleasures and Other Dark Delights (Things in the Well), is available on Amazon and Smashwords.
This adult-themed anthology features drabbles (100-word stories) and double-drabbles, a novella from Ramsey Campbell, original artwork and more. My contribution is three saucy drabbles!

Aurealis magazine review of Contrition
Unearthed! We’ve just found a review of my award-nominated novel Contrition (IFWG Publishing Australia) in Aurealis #119, released in November 2018.
From the back-cover blurb of Contrition - John Penrose has two secrets. One is the flatmate he keeps hidden from the world: his high-school sweetheart, Meredith. His other secret is the reason he feels compelled to look after her... Contrition is a horror story with noir undertones and an atmosphere of mounting dread.
In part, reviewer Eugen Bacon states, “Deborah Sheldon uses well elements of suspense to device a bizarre story of secrets…there are elements of the story that would freeze one up, quicken the heart rate and cause startle if dramatised with the right riff in the gut of a film."

Horror Tree review of Figments and Fragments: Dark Stories
From the Horror Tree, a wonderful five-star review of my forthcoming collection Figments and Fragments: Dark Stories (IFWG Publishing Australia).
In part, reviewer Alyson Faye writes, “Deborah Sheldon is adept at drawing you in, writing fast, furious dialogue, making you smell and taste the landscape and the characters’ sweat, taking you on a journey with the lost, the displaced, the broken, the runaways, the misfits and the mad, who populate the pages.”
The review also includes a mini-interview with me.

"10 Most Hated Zombie Clichés"
My guest blog post for the Horror Tree, "10 Most Hated Zombie Clichés", begins:
"Okay, maybe hate is a strong word – how about 'over-used'? When I decided to write my zombie novel, Body Farm Z, the first thing I did was make a list of every trope I wanted to avoid. I checked online for other people’s opinions too. Only then did I start blocking out my plot. And guess what? I still have that handwritten list in my novel’s research folder. Here’s my opinion – and yours may differ – on the ten most well-worn clichés..."
The guest blog post includes a giveaway of my latest horror novel: Body Farm Z (Severed Press). Ten digital copies are up for grabs. The giveaway ends October 20.
