Extraordinary in the Ordinary By Eleri Grace
A “superhero” is a fictional character with extraordinary or
superhuman powers or an exceptionally skilled or successful person.
Rather than paying tribute to the numerous actual people who
populate my life and have exceptional or superhuman perseverance, strength, and
empathy for others, I decided to write today about a group of women who
straddle both worlds in a sense. The

My Top Two Real Life Heroes by Paty Jager
If my mom were alive, I'm pretty sure she would agree with me on my top two real life heroes. They are my daughters. I can remember my mom telling me how brave I was for driving 6 hours by myself with small children to visit her. When I flew to New York state to attend a writing conference by myself she said she would never have been brave enough to do that alone. My mom would be even more in

What is the Obsidian Rim? by SFR Author Jody Wallace
Early this year (2019), Jessa Slade (w/a Elsa Jade http://www.elsajade.com/) contacted me
about a project she and Maggie Lynch (https://maggielynch.com/)
were helming. Like Thieves’ World and Heroes in Hell, they envisioned a shared
world concept set in the far future, after the devastating effects of war had
destroyed nearly all of the “Salty Way” galaxy except for the outer rim. How

My Own Super Hero - Bill
Hi, I’m Judith Ashley, author
of The Sacred Women’s Circle series, soul nourishing romantic women’s fiction
that honors pagan spiritual practices. My stories show you what life could be
like if you had a place like The Circle where you are unconditionally accepted,
supported and loved. And where, with this support, you do overcome obstacles and
find your happily-ever-after.
OMG, my list is

My Hero is Batman by Dora Bramden
Dora ‘If
you could be any superhero who would it be?’
Sam ‘I’m Batman Baby.’ Said without a moment's hesitation.
Dora Laughs. ‘Why Batman?’
Sam ‘Because I always wanted to be
Batman.’
He didn’t explain
further but It made perfect sense to me. Heroes, Super or everyday ones, often
hide their strengths behind a normal façade. Unassuming Sam

Google - A Superhero
By Robin Weaver
No, I don’t mean Google (verb) a
superhero. I mean Google (noun) is
a superhero.
You’re probably thinking I’ve
finally made the leap—the transition from quirky to flat-out nutso, but before
you judge, hear me out.
My little search-a-matic friend might
not have a Siri-ously sexy voice, but he has all the traits of a saver-of-days. Mighty Goog is faster than a speeding

How Do I Name Characters in a Book?
By Linda Lovely
I’d say my problem is due to my age, but I’d be lying.
I’ve always had a hard time remembering people’s names. I’m introduced and five
seconds later, I’m asking myself: “Is his name really Harold?”
When I start reading a book, the same thing happens. It
takes a while for me to “know” characters on a first-name basis not to mention their
roles in the story. That means I’m not
