Mutt's and Mistletoe Book Review

Review of Mutts and Mistletoe by Natalie
Cox

From the first page of this laugh-out-loud Holiday Romance
set in the English countryside, British Author Natalie Cox had me smiling at
her heroine’s Ten Things I Hate About Christmas list. Told in the first person,
the story gives the reader access to Charlie’s thoughts (gently snarky) as well
as her words and actions. This adds an extra

Reads for the Holidays

by Courtney Pierce

This holiday
season, I’ll be breaking from my decades-old tradition of poring through the
inspirational stories of Charles Dickens. I’ve always embraced his tales of the
human condition in my antique editions, two-columns of tiny print on
whisper-thin, fragile pages.

Holiday
reads are about connecting to emotions that re-calibrate our attitudes, allowing us to take

Thankful for Richer-Than-Alma’s-Pie Memories

By Linda Lovely

I first published this Thanksgiving post in 2014. If any of our loyal readers remember that far back, please forgive the repeat. However, I'm delighted to report I have family visiting from today, Nov. 22, till Dec. 1, and I have tons of cooking to do before I put that 23-lb bird in the oven!

On my favorite holiday list, Thanksgiving has long run
neck-and-neck with

Exploding Turkey...

Happy Thursday everyone! For many of us next week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving.

This is hands down my favorite holiday. It's calories without guilt and more importantly it is a time that everyone is encouraged to take a minute and 'count their blessings'/look at the positive/be thankful (or your wording of choice).

Sometimes I need this reminder that I have a lot to be thankful for...

Starting A New Tradition

My heritage is Latvian. Latvia is a very small country on the Baltic sea, a country rich with history and traditions. My parents fled during WW2 and made a new life in Australia. I was born in Australia, but didn't actually speak English until I was three.

Latvian food, of course, was a big part of my childhood and Christams Eve was when we had our main Christmas meal. We'd sit around

I live for romantic holiday books.
And I do love to write them. So, here’s my list of fun and recent holiday

Christmas Baby for the Billionaire, by Donna Alward (October 1, 2019)

I love Alward’s books, and have been
reading her stories ever since she handed me a free book after I missed her
book signing, years

'Tis the Season to Be Wicked...by Collette Cameron

As always, when researching for my
stories, I learned several fun facts pertaining to Christmas in Scotland and
England during the early 18th century. To begin with, Christmas and
Yule weren’t openly celebrated in Scotland.

Late in the 16th century, St.
Mungo’s Cathedral wished to abolish the pagan rituals associated with Yule
(originally the Viking festival jól) and the Kirk threatened
